Discuss Subwoofers And All Aspects Of Speakers here.

  1. Started by iceteebone,

i've been running my magnums sealed for awhile now i feel it's time for a ported box. SI recommends 1.5 cubes per sub tuned to 32 hz. my question is doesn't anybody have there subs in this type of enclosure and how does it sound? or will it sound better in a different size/tuned box?

I am thinking about finishing up my system with a new sub setup. I have moved from the overpowering bass to appreciating all the ranges of music. Right now i have a 12" SSD copper coil sealed. It sounds great but am wondering what other choices I could get for greater SQ and that could get lower. Would stepping up to a 15" sealed Q or Icon dig lower and sound better? Playing with a 1000rms. I want the sub to compliment and add that lower depth. Mids are Sea Excel's with Sea tweeters.

Tell me what you think of these two. Just want some decent speakers back in the truck. Thanks guys!

Obviously there is a difference between the... 1) X-15 2) Z V-3 15 3) Z V-4 15 I Know the difference in the V3 and V4 is the generation but i am wondering if anyone can give me any input on differences between how beefy the components are and the general differences between the 3. Maybe you guys can help me decide which one to get. Going to order 2 15's and they are going in the back of a 2008 Jeep Commander. Had 2 FI BTL's. How would 2 of these subs compare to the 2 BTL's i had?

About the Pioneer Premier REV series speakers? I had four coax 6x9"s on 75 rms each, and loved them. I am thinking about getting more. plus the 6 1/2" components to run active. They are cheap to at only $100ish Thoughts?

I was wondering if anyone had experience with the JL Audio Stealth Box or similar products. I am considering a stealth install in my 07 Tahoe, with this as the possible cornerstone of low frequencies. I am also considering Diamond d661s component with the silk vs the aluminum tweeter. I plan on using these in the factory locations 6.5 mids in the doors and tweeters in the A panels ie the factory locations. I was also considering USD 6.5 mid bass in the rear doors also in the factory location about 6 inches behind the front buckets. Amps (amp) are/is up in the air. I was considering a 4 or 5 channel of unknown origin to achieve the solution. Musical tastes run the ga…

For subs right now I plan on walling my suv to the front seats and am putting in 4 18" Xcons. I want my front stage to play as loud as possible without breaking my budget of 5-600 dollars. This is what I have scoped out right now and please let me know what you think. Crossover on the sub will most likely be around 50-60hZ. So I have purchased Gcon from tirefyr while I am awaiting to get all my parts together for my other build. My question about my Gcon. It will be sealed at 1.5 cuft after displacement. I was planning to put the sub in the center of the 30 in wide enclosure. Would there be any benefit to offsetting the sub one way or the other? or am I just over thinking this.

So, i've been a dj for about 15 years and i've never had a decent soundsystem in my car, i guess because of all the money i've spent on cds and records. finally, i have the expendable money to throw at a little sub and speaker combo, but i'm going to start with the sub. Anyway, I have an Alpine CDA-9856 in an 03 Acura 3.2 tl type S, I'm not going to compete with this soundsystem, so i was wondering what the recommendations would be for a 10'' sub, and amp for around 500$. COuld my budget be lower for similar performance. Since i have worked a long time with audio equipment, i know that often times 500$ is right at the high level of lower end stuff, thats why i chose th…

  18. here goes! I am just currently planning for my future audio set up. here is my current set up. I currently drive a 2005 Scion Xa. 160 amp H/O alternator. It has all knukonceptz speaker wire, rca's and distribution blocks. 0g big 3 upgrade and 0g power and ground wires. A Panasonic CQ-C7205U head unit. I run an Alpine PDX 100.4 for my infinity reference components in front and coaxials in the rear. 2 Elemental Designs 13Ov.2's dual 4 ohm subwoofers in a custom 2ft3 sealed enclosure. they are 600 watts rms each, and I have them wired to a 1ohm load. I have I don't know how many feet of edead v1se sound deadening in my car, from my firewall all the way to the back fenders…

  20. Started by Scooby,

I'm using a stealth enclosure that holds a single 10". Mounting depth is 8" and has .75 cu.ft air space and is sealed.I listen to all sorts of music, rock, rap,r&b,metal, etc. I have looked at the following subs...Alpine Type-R 1042D(sounded good),IDQ v.3 (haven't heard) and Re Audio SE-10 (haven't heard). That 's mostly where the problem lies,I don't have any dealers locally that I can actually listen to these subs. I already have a MB Quart Discus 500.1( 250W x 1 @ 4ohms, 500W x 1 @ 2 ohms) that I picked up a few weeks ago for cheap.Would like to keep it under 150.00. Thanks

Due to certain events in my life the build with the Chrysler 300 is getting put off, but I still want to have a little more bass in the bronco in the mean time. The only thing I have left to buy for the build in the 300 is two more pm1s, 1 more crescendo 3500, and the wardens. I had plans to sell the Sp4 18 I currently have, and buy one of the Warden 21s. So I bought one of the warden 21 yesterday, but I am having second thoughts considering the warden is more geared towards higher frequencies that what I am used to. Also due to the fact there are no specs posted, and no one really knows anything too helpful about the new wardens. I haven't sold the SP4 yet because there…

  22. So I have read around a little and I have talked about it before, I need a mid-bass/woofer that can do 50hz-100hz/120hz just as loud and viscous as my 15" xcon can hit 30-50hz. I have run across the Aurasound NS10-513-4A 10" which seams like it may work, but I want more opinions. It can be of any wattage, it needs to be 10" or smaller I'd prefer a 8" but i'll do 10" if it is what it will take to hit those db's, and the enclosure whether it is ported or sealed needs to be less than 1 cu ft. I want great punch, I want to feel the drums in my chest, my old sub (kove armageddon) could hit these notes at around 135db and i miss the feeling of it.

I have 2 TC-1000 8" subs. 1 working fine. the other not responsive to power input. When pushed by hand, the cone still moves up and down. So just wondering if theres a build house somewhere that might be able to check it out and if possible fix or recone the sucker. any suggestions?

Anyone tried these sealed? I don't want to take up a significant portion of the back of my Tahoe since I have baby things. So has anyone tried these sealed per the specs? Just so you know they won't have a ton of power on them. Just the sub channel on my Kicker ZX700.5? I'm trying to get something that is a louder and lower the JL12W3's in there now. I'm moving those to my Camaro.
