Have you guys been to TC sounds website lately? they are now only selling speakers through dealers and the car audio is called audio pulse. They make a planer tweet and a monster mid as well. Go take a look at comment here so we can all share our opinions. I think the blue powder coat looks sweet and so do the mids and tweets. Have a great day. Zedman

I am working on an SQ-oriented install and am trying to figure out where I want everything laid out. Anyway, is there any major drawback someone can come up with if I were to fire the subs up (sealed box)? I know the only true way to find out is to try it and see, but the box dimensions will be different depending on the direction (an I don't have time to build 2-4 boxes and find out). Any quick tips or ideas are greatly appreciated. ML

So after randomly selecting units and testing them (after a good burn-in period) here are the published specs for the new IXL-18.4. You may find them better than the original(s). Even I am pleasantly surprised: IXL-18.4 Thiele-Small parameters: Fs = 17.7 Hz Re = 3.4 ohms[dc] Le = 6.09 mH Qt = 0.37 Qes = 0.39 Qms = 5.59 Mms = 434.34 grams Rms = 8.69 kg/s Cms = 0.184 mm/N Vas = 274.1 liters Sd= 1029.22 cm^2 Bl = 20.51 Tm Lp(2.83V/1m) = 91.60 dB If I have enough time this weekend, I'll do some testing and post some graphs. Best, Mark EDIT: Le has been changed to a more accurate number. This measurement was taken using a 100Hz test frequency.

So I heard the MAW's were being discontinued. Any truth to this? And will this mean the MJ-18's too? I think an 18" that can fit in 4cuft ported is way to cool to discontinue.

  7. Hi all, This is my first on the forum so please bear with me. I just installed a bass tube in my hatchback Toyota Yaris, the Pioneer ts-wx20lpa http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/products/archive/TS-WX20LPA/index.html. The sub is hooked with the factory oem h/u, therefore I installed a high/low converter, the exact model being this one XScorpion LC09 http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_40150_Xscorpion-LC09.html . The power cable is a standard cable which came with the sub and is directly connected with the car battery (no capacitor or fuse). The sound is quite good and solid considering it is a bass tube, however I notice that at certain very low frequencies the bass response suff…

Ok I have the CVX's on a 2400 watt amp..puts out 1700 (RMS) at 1ohm...They are in a pro Sealed Box sprayed with Bed liner (pretty solid) and each chamber has around 2.2 to 2.4 cubic ft give or take!! If i put the Q's in the same box what will be the Differences?? I know the Q's will be more clear and crisp sounding... Which will Hit the LOWS better? Which Will Be LOUDER? Would do a ported Pro box but cant fit one in my Trunk..so Sealed is the only option Here!

So Jake and I rigged my sis's ~1.4 ft^3 enclosure and Hifonics Z600 amp up in my car with the BM 12" in it tonight. The amp was something totally different, the sub was positioned different, the box was different, etc - so NOTHING was the same as what I'm used to. That, and my Eclipse's voltage output shocked the piss out of her Z600 - I had to turn the gain down ALL THE WAY and then turn the output down on my HU also. Haha. Anyway, once I got it somewhat dialed in Jake and I began really listening to it. The phantom of the opera song on the Telarc demo CD was the first track we listened to and it really showed how deep that little sucker can get. It dove down just…

I ran across this video today, and it made me wonder if this guy was talking out of his ass or not. What he's saying does make sense to me, talking about a square has more surface area to push more air out then a round woofer would. But if that was the case, then how come almost no manufacturer on this site even offers a square in any of their lineups? This part didn't make sense to me, because from what this guy is saying, everybody would be designing square woofers right?

Hey I'm looking to buy a single zcon for now but plan on adding another eventually. I want to run it on a crescendo 3500kw amp, and will upgrade to a 200 amp alt and a yellow top optimal. Is one enough? My car was just totaled and ruined my old setup. So now I'm buying a new car. Haven't decided exactly what car Im getting. But I know for sure I am getting a big car. Maybe an explorer. Most likely an explorer. So I'm wondering would you suggest a 15 or an 18 zcon

One of the coils on my 12" Mag is blown (I Think). when we wired the sub in series on a Volt meter the DCR was only @ like 1.5 ohms. Me and squeak9798 tested it @ his house and I think it took a big bite. Would there be anyway either Stereo Integrity or RE could rebuild this woofer for me? I am willing to pay and ship it to get it Fixed. I am sick of having no bass.

Hi everyone. 1st, here's a quick view of my current setup. Ride: 2000 Silverado ext cab. HU: Pioneer Premier Frt: Infinity 6.5 components Rear Fill: Polk 4x6 in factory locations Frt Amp: Soundstream Van gogh 320.4 (currently only using half)(considering the other half for 8" midbass in a front console) Sub Amp: Soundstram Van gogh 800.2 Subs: 2 Arc Audio 10d4 under rear seat (sealed) I want to change from 2 10's to 1 12" I'm really pleased with the SQ of the Arc's, though I would prefer more output. I've been heavily leaning towards either the ID Max 12d2 or Diamond D9. I've just heard, from this forum, about other possible options from Fi, Si, SSA, TC sounds, etc., (le…

OH and this just for daily beating..well mainly weekend

  22. Hey guys, looking to upgrade soon. I just got my Sundown SAZ-1500 in the other day, running it at 2 ohm on 2 Memphis M-Class 10's ported and Its not very loud at all. I was looking at running 2 12's possibly ported. Or maybe 1 or 2 15's in Sealed enclosure. It's going in the back seat of a Toyota Tacoma x-cab so I dont have alot of room. I need subs that I can run the pair at 1 ohm. I originally was thinking of either 2 Fi SSD's or 2 Fi Q's. I looked into the SI Mag's but they would put me at .5 ohm and I'm not doing that. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Ok, so I know that doing this is generally wrong, frowned upon, and "ghetto" for the lack of better term. But my question is this. Is there a "right" way to do this, or "proper" way to do so. If so, what equipment should be used. Any product recommendations? For those not understanding what I'm referring to, is when people have, generally, weather proof PA Speakers mounted externally of their vehicles, playing music. Again, please skip the whole, "this is wrong and retarded" phase, and just provide some good advice. And no, don't do it, isn't the advice I'm looking for lol. So from experience, what I have seen people use is those PA speakers, that are mounted to cop…
