hey guys. ive been working on a install all day, building a new box that will it in the back of my trucks (im taking the back seats out) http://memimage.cardomain.com/member_image...512_12_full.jpg thats the whole pic. to the very right is the amp rack ( having mounted them all yet). the middle you see with the holes cut out will have dresser like drawers in them by tmo. and the big hole to the right is about 4 cubic feet worth of spcace where i will mount a 15 in sealed sub someday. (magnum of course) http://memimage.cardomain.com/member_image...512_13_full.jpg thats my bro standing on the slider for an amp. this thing is build like damn tank. all 3/4 inch plywood with a…

  4. I got my fiberglass box done sorta. It is done to the point that I can get an internal volume. I packed about 15 gallons of packing peanuts in there. That gives me roughly 2 cubic feet. I know peanuts are not the most accurate, but that seemed like the easiest way. So anywho, I have about 1200w to throw at a Magnum that I am gonna get. Should I go ahead and put something in there to take up some space or let it ride and see how it goes? Then make it smaller if need be? Do you trust the peanut method? I don't want to buy a bunch of sand and then have to vacuum it out. What do you guys think? Thanks - Jim

  7. Hello everyone, i just had a few quick questions. My friend recently bought 2 kicker comp. vr series 12" subs i believe they were, and hes running them off of a 600 watt amp, i dont know the name of it tho or the specific stats. His car sounds lovely from the inside and outside. I keep telling everyone about stereointegrity and to buy their subs but none of my friends listen to me... they all think im dumb because i dont have one yet(due to lack of funds), and so they dont believe me when i tell them what it can really do and they think im just bullsh*tting. i want to show them and make them jelous. (thats not a main priority of mine to getting this sub, but it would …

Well for the MAG is going to be going into the 3rd box in 3 weeks.....mistakes on my part....I am deadly with a tape measure!! it is in 1.1 cubes sealed right now....but i am going back to ported...output suffered too much for me So i took measurements like 3 times to make sure it will fit....the box is going to be 34L x 15H x 10D which equals 2.18 cubic feet......as you can see i want this box to be as thin as possible cause i want to save as much trunk space as possible So going by those measurements and then add in the port and driver displaement.....port is 13.5 tall by 1.5 wide and 24 inches long which equals .28 cubes so after all displacements i am guessing it will…

ok, i am getting a new 15" (when they send these bad boys out). but i want to make a small sealed box, close to 2 cf. This is going to be put into a Saab 9000 hatchback. Also i have viped d1200.1. I have two box ideas, 1 is just a rectangle, and the other is a wedge design, witht the woofer facing somewhat at an angle. also i overhan the long peices over the sides. which one would sound better in my car?

I am new to the forum. I am looking at the 12"Magnum. Currently I have a PG t1200.1 and a t500.2 for my front stage. I am considering downgrading to a second 500.2. Would the Magnum do well with only 500 or so watts? Or should I just keep the big amp. I don't really need tons of output, just loud good sounding music. Also, what would the best cu ft be for a box for a single 12" Magnum? I have done some searching but didn't really find an exact answer. Anyway, any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Jim

Well, I was able to get a little more framework on the Z done today. Here's some pics. The PLs in the door. And I bet you think this is just an ashtray...... Well, lift it up and the little microswitch opens and POOF, no more subbass. Flip it down again, and the MAGNUM will breathe fire! Also had to work on an enclosure for some, BAH, JLs. A trio of 10W6s in 3 cubes @32Hz. Doesn't sound too shabby.

So, ive known abt digital designs subs for a long time but have always thought that its all SPL and no SQ. A friend of mine recently got thier 3512 12" sub and told me that not only does it pound, but the SQ is nothing to be laughed at. He's a good friend of mine so I trust his opinion, but he lives in another state so I cant hear it for myself. Now for the match up... -in one corner, the digital designs 3512 ported with 1200 watts -in the other corner a mag 12" ported with 1200 watts now I assume that the DD sub would beat the mag in SPL (tell me if im wrong) but how much would the DD sub be lacking in SQ versus the mag any help, thoughts, comments, or opinions would be…

Has anyone experienced with different sealed box sizes for a MAg 12.....i have my Mag in a ported box now (2.75 cubes tuned to 35hz....and before it was in was 2.32 cuft tuned to 32hz) and i think i am going to see what the MAG will do sealed cause i would like a smaller box. I would like to know how the sound of it changes as the sealed box gets bigger and smaller.... BTW....this is right now powered by a ZR360 (530 watts) and may be down the road powered by a ZR600(~800 watts) if i ever get it fixed. So what size sealed box in the .5 to 1.5 cuft sealed box range has been best for ya'll NICK......CHIME IN!!! Scott, SC

Well, since the mags went on backorder i went to a shop owned by my cousin, and he hooked me up w/ an L7 12", on a price i couldn't really resist. sooo, after 2 days of hell making my box, i finally put it in the Jeep about an hour ago, and have been able to get an idea of what it can do (turned the amp's gain up to 4v for about 1 min.. JBL 1200.1). I'm using my friends 1200.1, and i'm very suprised at what this sub did for not being broken in, and being in a 2.2 cube box tuned to 43 hz. the box is as close to kicker "street bass" as i can get. :boink: :boink: but wow, this L7 blows the doors off the HC i had in there in terms of output hands down. They were bot…

I just got my magnum in the mail today . I put it right in my box (2.1 @29hz) and wired it up to a brutus 1000 at 1ohm, put in some sublime and wow .I've never had a sub before so this if my first install. I've only heard other kids at my high school and the only one that even comes close to this in loudness and sound quality is a kid w/ a 12L7 in a less than 1 cube box and it's still not as loud. This may not be the right place to post this but if anyone has this amp has any ideas what to set my amp settings at, that would be wonderful. There's Subsonic 15-36hz, bass eq 0-18, lowpass 35-250, and the level/gain 9v-.2v. Thanks.

i posted this over at caraudio.com just now and i thought id post it over here to get your guys' opinion as well. I have heard on other forums that the trunk of my car (1990 BMW 325is) is very well sealed off and its hard to get bass into the car so I am considering putting some 8's in the rear deck. Preferably 2 but I may be able to add a third. Just wondering if you guys could direct me in the right area and give me some ideas for nice 8 inch woofers. I want these things to get as loud as possible, I was originally planning on getting a 12" SX. I have looked into the RE8's, the Crystal Comps, and and Diamond Audio CM3. If you guys could give me any info on any of these …
