Currently deciding between an 18" Bl or an 18" RL-P.. I am basically looking for just a loud daily driver that will pound the lows. I have 1500 watts on hand to power them.. What could I expect from each sub, and how do they compare?

I have DB drive S5 6.5" comps up front right now and my Sony coaxials went out in the back. So I was thinking on moving my DBs to the back and getting some more comps up front. What comps would give me the best clarity for around $150 or less? I have about 50 watts per channel right now but plan to upgrade my amp later.

I have a 2005 Toyota Tundra 4 Door and the only thing that you can fit are 8" subs. I was looking at the Kicker CVR 8's and I am probably going to get those because nothing has a mounting depth smaller than 4.5" inches. I was really really considering the Ascendant Audio Assassins but I just recently found out the mounting depth is like 5.1" or something like that. So please help me with what 8's I can get in there, I want something pretty loud. I have friends wtih like 2 12's, and most of them have 2 10's....not really loud 10's or 12's but you get the gist. I have mostly only heard of the basic brands like kicker, jl audio and those types but let me know if you know any…

  11. Hey everyone! So I just purchased some of NVX 6-1/2" V-Series 2-way components since I wanted to give them a try. Looking into a new amp for just these speakers only. Curious what you think about these two amps? There around the price I want to spend and I am not 100% on sticking with this brand, but ive had good luck with these amps over the years so I figured I would stick with them. Here are the component specs: 6-1/2" V-Series 2-way Component Speaker System Peak: 280 watts per set / 140 watts each side 140 watts per set / 70 watts each side 4 ohms impedance and here are the two amps im looking at and curious which one would work…

I friend of mine is doing a budget system and wants some good coaxle's. He just wants a pair of 6x9s for the rear and 5 1/4s for his front doors. I had a pair of 3 way MTX 6x9s back in the days and imo they gave me pretty good highs. Who else makes good quality coaxle's? He's going to power them off a Alpine CDA-9886.

Well I am not sure what I want here. The level 5 15" woofer can come with several different type of coils -- d.7 d1 d1.4 or d2. If I get d2 then I can wire it to 1 ohm, but then why not just get the d1? Or could I not wire that to 1ohm and it would be pushed to .5 ohms (which I would not prefer doing seeing as SAZ are unstable below .9 ohms I believe). Oh and I am using a SAZ-3500D on a single level 5 15"

lately i've heard quite a few bigger name companies have used various TC sounds motors on their own sub lineups, and i'm wondering, is it possible to salvage the motors (and baskets?) to recone these subs? If so, which models should i be looking out for? I know Eclipse used some in their Ti and 8200 range, and Lightning Storm, Ground Zero etc, but i think Eclipse are going to be the easiest to track down. Also, who can recone these, and to what size? I've found that Fi can recone them in this thread, but it looks like their baskets arent a great fit for most motors. Any help appreciated guys

Right now am looking at using a pair of components up front and a pair of coaxial in the back (Ext. Cab Dodge Dakota). So my question is which setup would be best for sound quality: 1) Audioque AQG-6.5 Component Set and Focal Access 165 CA1 = $350.00 total 2) Focal 165 A1 Component Set and Focal Access 165 CA1 = $450 total 3) JL Audio TR650-CSi Component Set and JL Audio C2-650x = $400 total This is what i came up with, just need to know which set these would do the job. I also have the power to use any setup.

Of these, which would you prefer? Will be running 2 sets on the front of my DLS Ultimate A5. Wont be a ton of power so it will definately need to be efficient. I would like clear sound, good midbass, and definately as loud as possible. This is the rating of my amp, and with 2 comp sets each channel will be at 2 ohms, so around 50rms per speaker. 4 ohms: 85 watts x 2 chan. + 300 watts x 1 sub chan. 2 ohms: 100 watts x 2 chan. + 500 watts x 1 sub chan. These are some of the options I was looking at. What would you pick? Speaker choices and poll us up at ca.com. http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=410377

  21. Hey guy, am putting together a system for my ride which is a 2003 dodge Dakota Ext. Cab. Am planning on running 2 12" sealed in a 2.5 cu.ft (Net) enclosure because am a big guy and I don't have the additional space to go ported. Am debating whether to go with the Incriminator Audio LI 12 or the Sundown SA-12. I will be running the Sundown SAX or SAZ 1200D amp. Am done with the Big 3 upgrade, and am using a UPS12-490MR battery to power my vehicle off of a stock alternator which is around 130 amp @ 3000 RPM, hopefully this will be enough to prevent dimming. I haven't had any subwoofer experience with any of the 2 brands mentioned but from what I have read, both drivers a…

So I'm about to build my second sub, but I'm stuck on which dustcap to use. I originally ordered the Carbon Fiber dustcap, but ended up getting the Poly dustcap as a freebie with an order I made. After placing it on the cone just to see what it looks like, I'm starting to wonder if the Poly dustcap actually looks better? What do you guys think? Go with the Carbon Fiber dustcap, or the Poly dustcap?

I'm reconing my XCON. I was going to have The Speaker Exchange do the work, but after they told me $80 an hour for labor and it could take 2 hours I've decided to do it myself. Problem is I didn't order glue from SSA because I wasn't expecting to do the work. Does Lowe's or Home Depot sell a glue that would work? Thanks

RE vs FI? RE vs SunDown(subwoofers)? RE vs AA? fi sundown and aa seem to have the same built for that subwoofer.. they have the element of just by looking at them you knw this sub is loud..
