Subwoofers / Speakers

Have a box for a different sub i'm running right now, wanted to know if i could expect good low end bass from a 12 d2 in a 2.1 cube box tuned at 30 hz before driver displacement.. I would be feeding it ~700w daily. I'm a deep bass junkie, but i had to get rid of my HC 15, and need something in a 12" driver that can get LOW in a box no bigger than 2.1 cubes ported, 2.3 cubes sealed and shallow (12" would be my only option from SI). I can get more power, i was wondering if i could just plug the D2 into my box as i don't really want to make another one, it's quite a pain because it's not square. First off i would like to announce that im an idiot, and i posted in the wrong section earlier this evening... now to my question.... I got a 92 toyota pickup, and i refuse to cut the bed, so i want to build a box behind my seat... I can get the box at about 1cf i think and still be able to fit the amp in the back... so i was interested in getting a d2 '12 so since i cant physically see the woofer, i would see what you guys think... can it be done.. you guys ever seen your sub in a wedge application and is 1cf enough for the sub... i have a rockford punch 800rms @4ohms.. is that gonna be enough to push it in a smaller box like that?? ive heard nothing but great things abo…

Hi guys, i have been doing a lot of reading, and i have heard nothing but good things about the magnum... ok so here's my delima. I have a 92 toyota pickup, and im not cutting a hole in my truck bed. Since i cannot physically see the sub, i thought i would ask for help. Im gonna build a custom box, for behind my seat... i think i can get the box at around 1cf and still be able to fit my amp. Ok so heres my question... Is that gonna cut it. i mean would i be better off looking for something more shallow, or would that be enough for the sub... i noticed the mounting depth was like 6.75 or so right... have you guys ever seen your sub used in a wedge box. I realize the opinions here may be a bit swayed (kinda like asking Bush if our entering into Iraq was a positive decision) but I am curious if any of you have applications similar to my proposed. Firstly, I by no means have a golden ear, but am picky enough to want a high level of SQ. However, I am also wanting something that will shut up the young punk sitting next to me if need be. My proposed application will be under the rear seat of my Quad Cab in a ported fiberglass enclosure (at least 2 cu ft) and proper tuning. I will be pushing the 12" sub with an Avionixx 800.2 which does 800 @ 4. Anything similar out there?

Just wondering if ne1 went Sunday,about 50 cars were on hand.It was hot as *ell,got to see some decent cars but wasn't too impressed,had I had my ported box for the Mag I would've definitely got metered.The loudest vehicles were a pick-up(JL stuff) & some rust bucket on wheels ,dont know what he was rocking.Nonetheless we had a good time,got some free t-shirts & other misc. stuff.

A lot of you have already seen this, but I am posting it for those who haven't. This is my newly completed SQ project........ and maybe a little SPL on the side. i've been running my magnum with about 800w for the last couple weeks, and its just dying for more power. i am having a new box designed, and i was thinking of buying a 1500bd. now obviously i dont wanna wire the sub to 4ohm, as i will have the same power as now, but i wanna wire it to 1ohm, so im looking at 1600w rms+ (assuming the amp is fine at 1ohm, which i've heard it should be) i will probably have it scoped and setup the gains so it makes around 1.5k which i think is reasonable for a daily drive what i wanna know is what is the maximum i can give it for a daily drive? i probably wont risk anything over 1.5k, but is anyone running more than that?? thanks in advance

Before anyone freaks out we are still going to make subwoofers but we cannot use the name "Magnum" anymore. A Corporation called Mitek owns the rights to the word "Magnum" in car audio, so we cannot use it. This last batch of 12's and 15's that was just made will be the last speakers with "Magnum" on them. um so i got my system hooked up and i crank it up for a bit and this smell comes out of nowhere, i think its the stuff melting around the cone, either that or my Voice coil is layin on the beach. But it is still playin jsut fine.... any ideas??

hey guys, i'm really leaning towards getting a 12" D2 for my system right now, but i got a quick question. i'm planning on powering it w/ an avionixx 800.2 (1x800 watts RMS bridged @ 4ohms) in a sealed enclosure ~1.6 cu. ft. will the D2 still sound clean and moderately loud w/ this little bit of power? i'm going for LSQ by the way.

does a Magnum D2 12" come in dual 2 ohms or 4 ohms? P.S. just something thats been on my mind ever since i found stereo integrity forums... With the Mag being such a good subwoofer how come stereo integrity isnt up there with JL audio, Rockford, Kicker, and the other leading brands?

just wondering what all people have heard about alumapro? has anyone used their subs in the past or present?

Alright folks my friends 200 watt fender bassman with a single 15. is extremly louder than his 2400 watt power amp running 4 15's. i think the poblem is in the amp the amp runs 2x1200 watts at 4 ohm. and the speakers run at 1200x2 at 8ohm. so i tried to run the amp mono to one speaker 2400watts at 4ohm to a 1200watt 8ohm speaker, that made it worse they didnt even get louder than a voice. the amp should be able to turn all the way up but it starts to blink the "im about to blow up light" at about half volume. what is his problem? help help help help help

i loved how it performed off the rear channels of the tru 4.65 and was excited about the potential. i finally get around to giving it enough power (1000-1100w off US Amps 300X) and im just not that impressed with the lows. everything else plays like a dream and the sub/amp combo is insanely clean. its sitting in a 2cf right now and im wondering if polyfill will do the trick (and if so how much?) or if i should just make another box. i hear people favoring 2.5cf or so... what do you guys think? i wish i had a car to run it IB but i drive an xterra... ah well

This weekend, I will finally get my stuff installed. This includes Iraggi alternator, big 3, new battery, pg tantrum 1200.1 amp, and 2 12 mags sealed in a gnomeaudio box. Can't wait!!! Next weekend, I will make kicks for my CDT comps and sounddeaden the trunk with some secondskin. I'll let yawl know how it sounds.

Recently purchased a Avionixx AXT-1200.2 for a great price off ebay. Now I have matching amps . Well within minutes of receiving the package, I install the amp which takes 15 minutes tops... Fire it up, have some trouble find I had set it on High pass instead of Low pass :thud: .. But get everything straightened out and let her rip. best way to describe what happened next : WOW.... I really wasn't expecting a HUGE gain from 400 to 1200 watts, but boy, this thing just drops LOW in the ported box... I've been searching for amps to power 2 Mags and a set of Viper 650.2 components. I was looking aat MTX but I want more power on the Mags. I want the amps to match if possible but they don't have to. I only want to run two amps and my budget is $750. Oh yeah the Mags will be ported tuned to 30hz. Thanks.

so after reading some I need to build a slightly bigger box for my Mag 15. It's home now is a 2.03 cuft sealed box. From what I read, I need it to be about 2.4 cuft. Or should I go slightly bigger? what will I gain from the bigger box??? someone said it will be more efficient, what does that necassarily mean??? also, I am going to build it and integrate an amp rack of some sort, nothing too extravegant. anyone have any ideas??? something simple, it is for a 2002 Altima if that helps. tirefryr.... there is a BLACK a404 on ebay right now.
