  1. Hello everyone, I'm curious about 12s that could work great in a mid sized ported box 1.5 cubes - 1.75 cubes each powered by a Sundown SAZ1500D. So far what caught my eyes is a pair of DC Level 3 12s or a pair of Sundown SA 12s.

  2. I recently wanted to have a under the seat build for my truck, but now I've come up with the decision to go a little bit bigger with the enclosure. I don't want to take my seats completely out. my plan is to flip my seats up and build a box that's I can take out if I needed to use my rear seat. 15' s are out the question cause the enclosure will be to large to move around, so my options are multiple 10' s or 12' s. I have my saz-3500 but I plan on selling it and get a saz-4500 or two crescendo bc2000's I want to keep the price of the subs under $1000. I listen to 90% rap and I will not be competing. the source I have to work with is W-50 D-16 H-17.5

I really don't have the time right now to build a box for my sub. I've been in contact with three local shops that I've done business with before, and here are the options they gave me. Two of them have pre-made ported boxes (I know, I know) for $70. One of them can do a custom box for $125 and another one can do one for $150. I have a sealed box that I was going to use for the time being. I could get the pre-fab box within the next month or so. Otherwise I'd probably need to wait until sometime this spring to get one custom built. So, would it just be better to run my sub sealed for now and wait a little longer for a custom box? I didn't think that $125 or $150 w…

trying to figure out which setup would be better. either 4 Planet Audio TQ150DVC 15" dual 4-ohm TORQ subwoofers on an Audioque 2200D in a sealed box with 2 cu ft per sub. or 1 MA Audio MA1800XL 18" dual 4-Ohm subwoofer on an Audioque 2200D in a round port box tuned to 32hz with 5 cu ft for the sub. setup would be in the trunk of a 2nd gen Altima. sound i'm looking for is really loud deep bass, the kind that vibrates the air in your lungs (or as close to that as i can get ). electrical upgrades will be done (big 3, 0 ga, etc). i hope this is enough information for you all to help. thanks.

I think I am going to run either two 15" Audiopulse Revos or 4 12" AP Epics. What do you all think? Any other suggestions? Either will PROBABLY be run sealed off of a zx2500.1.

I know you guys will recommend going full size... I have an older Toyota Landcruiser FJ60 and want some good bass without sacrificing storage/dog toting ability. I am looking at one or two enclosures in the rear quarter panels (out of sight and paw proof). I was thinking 10" or 12" subs (likely two - one ea side). Powered by a single Alpine PDX-1.600 The JL 13.5" won't fit. Pioneer 1201's should, otherwise not sure what you guys would recommend getting. total depth (not counting what hte enclosure will use up is about 5.5". Thanks for helping me find something!

  8. My girlfriend has a 2010 Elantra and wants a single 12 and has a Kicker ZX750.1 to power whichever we choose. The ones listed as the one's we're deciding between. Price isn't an issue between them, so please don't take that into consideration when choosing one of the options. She usually prefers the sound of sealed, but I know a ported 12 could also sound tight and hit hard.

Actually 2 sets. Budget approx $400 for both sets. They'll both be powered off a Sundown sax100.4...the front set getting full power. The rear set will be set low, so power handling isn't an issue there. They don't need to match, but the front set needs to be loud. They need to be able to handle the sine sweeps of bass music. I burnt out a couple sets of tweets with bass music. Apparantly, I need some components that are tougher than infinity reference's. What would you recommend? Should I get $100 rears and $300 fronts? or two sets of $200 for front and back? Should I buy a low end set of Rainbows or CDT's...or a higherend set of Kickers or Alpines?

I just bought a 2011 Mazda 3 and since I just bought it tonight I haven't had much time to really search everything out about the car but from what I found online it looks like it has 5 1/4" speakers which I know there is two speakers in front doors and two in the back, i'm not sure about the rear deck or any tweets around the dash, which I will check tomorrow when I get a chance, but anyways I was wondering if there is anyway to fit a 6.5" speaker in the 5 1/4"? Should I just get two front speakers or two fronts and two rears since they'll be in the doors, which I do plan on amping them? I know this is all personal opinion, but I mainly listen to metal, but I also listen…

A friend of mine is doing a budget system and wants some good coaxle's. He just wants a pair of 3 way 6x9s for the rear and 5 1/4s for his front doors. He has the same car as me but an 03 Corolla and just wants some speakers to power off his deck that'll be able to take a beating and doesn't care about his speakers having much bass being his box does. He just wants something durable. So far the brands we're looking at are JL Audio, Kicker, MTX, Alpine, JBL. The speakers don't have to be cheap. He …

  16. As stated in my intro thread, I have an '07 Ram Megacab. I have a decent amount of space to play with behind my rear seat. Dimensions are below. Ignore the dual sub design, it's just a photo to put the dimensions on. Original idea was a pair of sealed 12s. I talked with pro-rabbit and he suggested a single ported 12 GCON as one option, until he had exact measurements. He's been super swamped lately (understandably), so I'm trying figure out what I should purchase during this Black Friday sale while I can still save money. I've had all sorts of suggestions (whether they work with my space or not, I don't know) in my intro thread here: http://www.soundsolu...__fromse…

Here is the deal, I have roughly about 6 cubic feet I can give for a box. Right now I have 2 audiopipe txx 15's that are rated at 1000rms in a 1.5ft sealed enclosure each ( I know the box is small). I want to run 2 15" subs ported in a 3.0ft box for each but is that enough space? I love low notes and spl pressure so im looking for a new setup. I've talked to Tod at digital designs and he said go with 1 DD 9518g in a 5ft box ported. THis is for a daily sub with good quality but i do want some pressure. Would it be The subwoofer will be in my trunk and not in a wall behind the seat. Another question, does anyone know the power rating on a fully loaded 18" btl? The DD9518g i…

Hows it going. i have a quad cab truck, have a box built that goes front to back for 4 12" woofers. It is 67" long, 16" wide and about 36" tall at its tallest I believe. Should i run JL 12w7s, the new Kicker CVR or VX (which is heavily pressed to me by the local custom shop that recently carries Kcker), Treo SSP or TE (or other model?) or pooooossibly the FI Q 12s. Let me know what you guys think. If i go with the 12w7, what amps would I need? Two 1001/1s ? any issues with those? My goals are 1. Loud and Clean. 2. a nice medium (55/45) of loudness, to musical application 3. a reliable setup that will sound good for time to come. I will be runni…

Mounting depth is 8" and has .75 cu.ft air space and is sealed.I listen to all sorts of music, rock, rap,r&b,metal, etc. I have looked at the following subs...Alpine Type-R 1042D(sounded good),IDQ v.3 (haven't heard) and Re Audio SE-10 (haven't heard). That 's mostly where the problem lies,I don't have any dealers locally that I can actually listen to these subs. I already have a MB Quart Discus 500.1( 250W x 1 @ 4ohms, 500W x 1 @ 2 ohms) that I picked up a few weeks ago for cheap.woild like to keep it under 150.00. Thanks

  23. Plan "A" didn't work out so I need help with forming a plan"B". Plan "A" was to be a single 10" dcon under the passenger side rear seat. Can get the required airspace(.9 net) for the dcon but just cant get the depth to mount it. The sub could be installed but the magnet would literally be sitting on the back of the enclosure or the cone sitting on the floor. I used the search function and see some recommend shallow mount subs while others recommend running eights. In the posts I read there were mixed reviews on the performance of the shallow mount subs while the eights seem to be fairly popular. I would definitley consider the Sundown Sa-8 but I'm not sure I could…

I dont really care about pricing and all that, am just wantting to know what are some of the pros and cons of each of these subs from the user's point of view. Stuff like low end, high end, SQ, Loudness, stuff like that. Thanks.
