i loved how it performed off the rear channels of the tru 4.65 and was excited about the potential. i finally get around to giving it enough power (1000-1100w off US Amps 300X) and im just not that impressed with the lows. everything else plays like a dream and the sub/amp combo is insanely clean. its sitting in a 2cf right now and im wondering if polyfill will do the trick (and if so how much?) or if i should just make another box. i hear people favoring 2.5cf or so... what do you guys think? i wish i had a car to run it IB but i drive an xterra... ah well

We're entertaining the idea of releasing an 8" speaker. The speaker will be able to play up to 300 Hz minimum (probably higher), F3's in the mid 40's out of car (even lower in car), and vented around 27 Hz. The driver will feature a low inductance coil, very light moving mass, a stamped basket, and a competitive price. Xmax estimates are around 11 mm one-way. The 8's will be monsters in the car audio environment, sealed or ported. ~0.5 cubes sealed or 1.2 cubes ported tuned to 30 Hz. What do you think?

Just installed couple of D2's in some odd looking enclosure (psuedo-seat like) in the back of a Dakota quad cab. No rear seats. I'll get some pics up and see if I can't get it metered this week. Quite impressive, to say the least. Oh, ran off a single JBL BP1200.1. The poor bastard is going to be deaf within a month. 33hz will wind you if you're not expecting it. Very very cool. Aight so today i goto a new lil car audio shop. The guy is cool as hell until he starts tellin me that memphis audio is gods gift to car audio enthusiast, I mean he had a lil book wt adds and shit and i'm like yea. Just wondering if ne1 went Sunday,about 50 cars were on hand.It was hot as *ell,got to see some decent cars but wasn't too impressed,had I had my ported box for the Mag I would've definitely got metered.The loudest vehicles were a pick-up(JL stuff) & some rust bucket on wheels ,dont know what he was rocking.Nonetheless we had a good time,got some free t-shirts & other misc. stuff.

um so i got my system hooked up and i crank it up for a bit and this smell comes out of nowhere, i think its the stuff melting around the cone, either that or my Voice coil is layin on the beach. But it is still playin jsut fine.... any ideas??

does a Magnum D2 12" come in dual 2 ohms or 4 ohms? P.S. just something thats been on my mind ever since i found stereo integrity forums... With the Mag being such a good subwoofer how come stereo integrity isnt up there with JL audio, Rockford, Kicker, and the other leading brands?

i am going to fiberglass my entire trunk to fit 2 12" Magnums, what are common molding materials used for fiberglassing, i was trying cardboard but i figured out thats not going to work very well...... help

Recently purchased a Avionixx AXT-1200.2 for a great price off ebay. Now I have matching amps . Well within minutes of receiving the package, I install the amp which takes 15 minutes tops... Fire it up, have some trouble find I had set it on High pass instead of Low pass :thud: .. But get everything straightened out and let her rip. best way to describe what happened next : WOW.... I really wasn't expecting a HUGE gain from 400 to 1200 watts, but boy, this thing just drops LOW in the ported box... hey guys, i'm really leaning towards getting a 12" D2 for my system right now, but i got a quick question. i'm planning on powering it w/ an avionixx 800.2 (1x800 watts RMS bridged @ 4ohms) in a sealed enclosure ~1.6 cu. ft. will the D2 still sound clean and moderately loud w/ this little bit of power? i'm going for LSQ by the way.

Alright folks my friends 200 watt fender bassman with a single 15. is extremly louder than his 2400 watt power amp running 4 15's. i think the poblem is in the amp the amp runs 2x1200 watts at 4 ohm. and the speakers run at 1200x2 at 8ohm. so i tried to run the amp mono to one speaker 2400watts at 4ohm to a 1200watt 8ohm speaker, that made it worse they didnt even get louder than a voice. the amp should be able to turn all the way up but it starts to blink the "im about to blow up light" at about half volume. what is his problem? help help help help help

should i get a 15" xxx or 2 12" se's i will be powering these with a bx1500d i am looking for about 60/40 spl/sq (if i go with the 2 12"'s wouldnt i be over powering them?)

well i think ive finally made up my mind on the entire system, 2 12" Magnum D2's powered by (2) Rockford 1001BD Mono Amps. do you think thats too much power or just enough?

I've been searching for amps to power 2 Mags and a set of Viper 650.2 components. I was looking aat MTX but I want more power on the Mags. I want the amps to match if possible but they don't have to. I only want to run two amps and my budget is $750. Oh yeah the Mags will be ported tuned to 30hz. Thanks.

so after reading some I need to build a slightly bigger box for my Mag 15. It's home now is a 2.03 cuft sealed box. From what I read, I need it to be about 2.4 cuft. Or should I go slightly bigger? what will I gain from the bigger box??? someone said it will be more efficient, what does that necassarily mean??? also, I am going to build it and integrate an amp rack of some sort, nothing too extravegant. anyone have any ideas??? something simple, it is for a 2002 Altima if that helps. tirefryr.... there is a BLACK a404 on ebay right now. In the damned school parking lot! Some guys wanted to take a listen at my Magnum 15" so I started up my car and cranked it up for about 10 seconds or so of solid bass to let them see just how clean and loud it would go, and then a few minutes later a cop pulled into the parking lot and got out to have a word with me. He said when he drove by it was playing at an "unreasonably loud level" and that he turned his car around to investigate it. came home today and found my pg tantrum 1200.1 all fixed and waiting at my door. this time i took my time hooking it up and making sure my posititives and negatives were right and once i did that my ears were treated to some of the best woofers i have heard. i could not believe how loud these are. i have the gain set at about 1/4 up and they are so loud. it feels like my jeep is reading to fall apart. the little overhead thing on my ceiling came falling down. only a true basshead can be proud of his car falling apart. thanks SI.

WEll, I had some other enclosures to build today so I decided I'd get a little playtime with the Magnum in... My baffle is pretty much finished up except for the cosmetics so I went ahead and hung it all from the deck and ran some speaker wire from my truck to the trunk of the Cutlass. Wow!!! This thing is AMAZING IB!!! GOOD GOD!!! I love this; I'm so happy with this application right now it's like getting laid! I don't remember the last time I sat in a vehicle with just a subwoofer playing and actually enjoyed it. Hell, I don't think I ever have until today. You all helped me to design my box for the magnum to go in my reg cab s10. While im savin up money im still exploring my options and for abt the same price i was i could go these two directions..... -2 re se 12s getting 600 watts a piece (dunno which amp yet) with 1.0 cubes a piece before displacement OR -a single 12" magnum d2 in a 2.65^3 box before displacements tuned to 28hz using two 4"x40.5" aero ports powered by a jl 500/1 now, I was just wondering you guys' overall opinion btwn the two any and all comments/suggestions/help would be appreciated!
