WEll, I had some other enclosures to build today so I decided I'd get a little playtime with the Magnum in... My baffle is pretty much finished up except for the cosmetics so I went ahead and hung it all from the deck and ran some speaker wire from my truck to the trunk of the Cutlass. Wow!!! This thing is AMAZING IB!!! GOOD GOD!!! I love this; I'm so happy with this application right now it's like getting laid! I don't remember the last time I sat in a vehicle with just a subwoofer playing and actually enjoyed it. Hell, I don't think I ever have until today. came home today and found my pg tantrum 1200.1 all fixed and waiting at my door. this time i took my time hooking it up and making sure my posititives and negatives were right and once i did that my ears were treated to some of the best woofers i have heard. i could not believe how loud these are. i have the gain set at about 1/4 up and they are so loud. it feels like my jeep is reading to fall apart. the little overhead thing on my ceiling came falling down. only a true basshead can be proud of his car falling apart. thanks SI.

You all helped me to design my box for the magnum to go in my reg cab s10. While im savin up money im still exploring my options and for abt the same price i was i could go these two directions..... -2 re se 12s getting 600 watts a piece (dunno which amp yet) with 1.0 cubes a piece before displacement OR -a single 12" magnum d2 in a 2.65^3 box before displacements tuned to 28hz using two 4"x40.5" aero ports powered by a jl 500/1 now, I was just wondering you guys' overall opinion btwn the two any and all comments/suggestions/help would be appreciated! So, what's the general opinion on the best sealed enclosure size for a 15" D2? Seems like a lot of people prefer 2.4cf? Also, is that before or after sub displacement, and what is the displacement of a 15" D2? Also, does polyfill do anything besides making the sub think the enclosure is larger? If that's all it does, why not just build the enclosure larger in the first place? Basically all this is the long way of asking, how big should my enclosure be??? Thanks~

well i think ive finally made up my mind on the entire system, 2 12" Magnum D2's powered by (2) Rockford 1001BD Mono Amps. do you think thats too much power or just enough?

just interested to know how it performs? and is it possible?

as i said earlier i was gunna give a review of these corectly when i got a worthy amp. well i decided to swap them into by dads truck. still no crossover so i just eq'd the lowend out as i liked. and they were running free air. ill be making kickpannels soon so lowend should dramatically improve and it will be safer to try low end hehe. the amp was a 50x4 alpine so each morel was getting 50 watts i played a variation of soft/hard rock song. evanesence, van halen, trapt, nicklback, disturbed, stained. afyter messing with the 3 band eq( yes only 3 band) i thought holy **** ! they were so bright, so clear. not a hint of distortion. absolutley mind boggling. i was seriously d…

should i get a 15" xxx or 2 12" se's i will be powering these with a bx1500d i am looking for about 60/40 spl/sq (if i go with the 2 12"'s wouldnt i be over powering them?)

Hi, im shopping for a new system and today i ran across this website. i was wondering, and wasnt able to find the following information. for the 12" Magnum D2 RMS Peak Sensitivity also, how does the magnum d2 stand up to competitors side by side, similar priced subwoofer. such as rockford power hx2, mtx thunder 8000, RE XXX, and any other leading subwoofers? thanks your help is very appreciated.

well today i fried my backup frontstage ( just little 4x6's) well since that gone i have to buy something new becuasr the 4x6's are my only units with weeters. That means i cant get my darn 15 inch magnum!!!!!!!!! grrrrrr i was so mad today. but on the bright side im gunna replace those 4x6's with some Morel SUPREME's. but now that meANS i gotta go make kick pannels and istall the morel wr-4s to lol :thud:

Well...Yesterday I decided to stop being lazy and shove it all in the car...Everything is wired up and playing except the 8's in the doors.... After 3 hours of listening...here are my thoughts on some things.... Max Fidelity Tweets If anyone is looking to do a DIY setup, I'd STRONGLY recommend these. They are a small format (4 OHM!) neo tweet that is swivel mounted for adjust staging/aiming. Well guy's I would like some opinions on my next set of subs. I tend to lean towards sq but I still want some subs they can get loud and go low and rumble with the best of them. I would like to use the same enclosure that I had with my 2 12" ID MAX's, it is a sealed enclosure with a common chamber and 1.3^3 ft. of airspace per sub before displacement. Just installed couple of D2's in some odd looking enclosure (psuedo-seat like) in the back of a Dakota quad cab. No rear seats. I'll get some pics up and see if I can't get it metered this week. Quite impressive, to say the least. Oh, ran off a single JBL BP1200.1. The poor bastard is going to be deaf within a month. 33hz will wind you if you're not expecting it. Very very cool. ok this is a pretty newbie question. if i have 2 12s in a ported box and the recommended enclosure for one is 2cu ft after displacement, would i still only need 2cu ft after the displacement of both subs or another 2cu ft making the total 4?

which would be louder and which would be more accurate between.... 1 12" d2 in a ported box to specs with a jl 500/1 or 2 12" d2s sealed with the 500/1 any help or comments would be appreciated! thanx Tom
