So, what's the general opinion on the best sealed enclosure size for a 15" D2? Seems like a lot of people prefer 2.4cf? Also, is that before or after sub displacement, and what is the displacement of a 15" D2? Also, does polyfill do anything besides making the sub think the enclosure is larger? If that's all it does, why not just build the enclosure larger in the first place? Basically all this is the long way of asking, how big should my enclosure be??? Thanks~

as i said earlier i was gunna give a review of these corectly when i got a worthy amp. well i decided to swap them into by dads truck. still no crossover so i just eq'd the lowend out as i liked. and they were running free air. ill be making kickpannels soon so lowend should dramatically improve and it will be safer to try low end hehe. the amp was a 50x4 alpine so each morel was getting 50 watts i played a variation of soft/hard rock song. evanesence, van halen, trapt, nicklback, disturbed, stained. afyter messing with the 3 band eq( yes only 3 band) i thought holy **** ! they were so bright, so clear. not a hint of distortion. absolutley mind boggling. i was seriously d…

Hi, im shopping for a new system and today i ran across this website. i was wondering, and wasnt able to find the following information. for the 12" Magnum D2 RMS Peak Sensitivity also, how does the magnum d2 stand up to competitors side by side, similar priced subwoofer. such as rockford power hx2, mtx thunder 8000, RE XXX, and any other leading subwoofers? thanks your help is very appreciated.

As title says, anyone know for sure the displacement of the original 12" magnum d2's with the claw baskets. I'm designing a new box right now, and i need to know their displacement, thanx...need replies asap if any knows. peace NG

well today i fried my backup frontstage ( just little 4x6's) well since that gone i have to buy something new becuasr the 4x6's are my only units with weeters. That means i cant get my darn 15 inch magnum!!!!!!!!! grrrrrr i was so mad today. but on the bright side im gunna replace those 4x6's with some Morel SUPREME's. but now that meANS i gotta go make kick pannels and istall the morel wr-4s to lol :thud:

Hi Guys I live in Houston and I'm considering buying some magnums but I would love to hear them first. Well guy's I would like some opinions on my next set of subs. I tend to lean towards sq but I still want some subs they can get loud and go low and rumble with the best of them. I would like to use the same enclosure that I had with my 2 12" ID MAX's, it is a sealed enclosure with a common chamber and 1.3^3 ft. of airspace per sub before displacement. Im about to be getting my car and my system is going in ASAP. I know I want a D2, but I cant decide which size. I would like to have a 15 since it gets louder and lower and I mostly listen to rap music, but will the 4.5 cu ft box fit in my trunk ok? I am getting a 1990 BMW 325is so it has a decent sized trunk, but how big is it gonna be really? Anyone have any pics of that sized box? Also, do you think I REALLY need the 15? I plan on running 1100 watts to the sub. This will be my first system so I really don't know a whole lot about the actually sound of things, just word of mouth. what is a good amp to go with the 15? i can spend a total of $600 for amp and sub. does ne one have demensions for a good sealed box?

well im so incedibly bored that i want to design a ported box for a magnum 15 inch. who know i might even build it hehe. anyone got some recomendtions? im just looking for the best SQ flattest responce i can get from 20-80 herts. ALL FOR THE SQ! thanks

ok this is a pretty newbie question. if i have 2 12s in a ported box and the recommended enclosure for one is 2cu ft after displacement, would i still only need 2cu ft after the displacement of both subs or another 2cu ft making the total 4?

which would be louder and which would be more accurate between.... 1 12" d2 in a ported box to specs with a jl 500/1 or 2 12" d2s sealed with the 500/1 any help or comments would be appreciated! thanx Tom

hey would you guys mind if i posted my amp rack plans that i need a little bit of help on, i know ive been pushing the limits of stupid non sub related stuff lately so i wanted to ask first hehe

will there be any difference in sound if my sub box is not extreemly tighly stapped down to be seat.? i can get it to where it stays in one spot but due to position and size i would have to drill holes through my seats to make it rock solid strapped down.

Which would be louder? Yes this is a stupid and somewhat hard to answer question, but which do you *think*. Two 12s, each getting 600 rms One 15, getting 1200 rms. Of course, SI Magnum D2s....

In the 2.0 cubic foot recommended box, how much power can they stand for burping? At what point does the added power stop increasing SPL? I am wondering the difference in 600 wat per driver to maybe 2000 per drive on a burp . Which may be somewhat "extreme".

here is a few pics of a box i just finished for a explorer....the install pic is on another camera.....anyway, the amp was doa, so no beats yet.....however i did hook this up in my truck off my amp, giving them about 600 wrms, and while they aren't my 15's..they are indeed loud and very clean oh yeah..they are in 1.75ft^3 apiece and the box has a fs of 38hz..well, according to mtx specs...so does that mean that it is tuned to 38hz? anyway, it is my first time carpeting a box and i almost didn't have enuff, so in the process a nasty seam was created..but it faces the back seat, so it won't be seen ........ also...i charged $150 including materials,which came to $65 or so..…
