My friend has a TC-3k 15" Subwoofer for sale for $280 and might be able to get it down to $250, worth it?

I just made a ported box, and the recessed terminal cup i bought at my local shop looks pretty hard to install - the back of it is a rounded rectange. is it ok to just drill a small hole for my speaker wire in the back of the box and fill it with silicon caulk? im worried this will just make it leak terribly...

My jeep has 6x9 in the front and 6.5 in the back. Thy are the infinity gold system that came with the jeep. I just purchased a pair of ID ctx65cs speakers and am stuck on what I should do. My options are as follows 1. Put ID component set in back and replace front 6x9 with ID ctx69. Buy a 4 channel amps to run all 4 2. Buy another set of ctx65cs and run them in front and back off a 4 channel amp 3. Put ctx65cs in front and run off a 2 channel amp(100rms x2). Run the stock rear speakers off of the head unit. I have Infinity home floor speakers (cant recall model right now), and 2 Infinity 12" Entra Sub two's and I have been pretty pleased with them, so I went and bought some refrence 6.5 coaxial and a set of refrence 6.5 seperates for the Yukon doors. I bought them mainly because I like my Infinity home set up, and the fact they are both 2ohm so they wouldnt require any special wireing to get the most out of my amp. Currently own 1 Fi BL 15 and I have been looking into competing. I have been doing some reading and a common limitation for the lowest power class in USACI, (1-600watts at 4 ohms? best I could find: stock 1, street beat 1, etc.) is one 12", two 10" or 3 8". Feel free to correct me and my stupidity any time! If I was looking to compete in said class(es), one 12 seems to be the cheapest route, so here are the options I have found for my budget, (whatever I can get for my BL + less than $100) 1: Used DC level 4 XL, (dual one) for ~ $290 (should I turn into dual 2? is that possible?) 2: Just the motor of the level 4 XL (send it into PSI or something and get it rebuilt?) …

im pretty sure that i want to go with infinity kappa speakers to match my 463.7 front speakers that sound AWESOME. right now i have a plate made for 4 4's that i have 4 proaudio speakers in it, that sound alright, but 2 of them are blown. so im probably either going with 2 693.7i kappa 6x9s, or 4 42.7i kappa 4's. im kind of leaning towards the 4's sounding better, what do you all think?

Hey guys Im looking to buy a JL w3v3-2ohm 10'' in my car. I have a 04' BMW 3 series sedan now. I will be getting a custom box so it fits snug somewhere (not moving around everywhere). I currently have my kicker zx750.1 amp, do you think this will be a good match for it? Or do you recommend the 4ohm version? Running just a 4 gauge to it, and looking for some decent CLEAN bass to satisfy everyone in my car =D

on ebay there is a pair for 600$ i wanted 15" s but this looks like a good idea. the problem is there a single voice coil. whats the benefit to having two coils as opposed to one, and is there quality difference? is it just coil configuration or does it spead the heat out by having 2 coils. i have always heard dual coils are better. can some one please explain.

99 Grand Marquis has no rear door speakers. Should I change out all the factory speakers with components or put comps in front doors and 4 6.5 or 6x9 coaxals in rear deck. Or put 4 6.5 comps in rear deck.

So, I had a little whoopsie the other day when my tweet fell off and hit my brand new ID 6.5" woofer, putting a very fine crack in the dustcap. It's only about an inch long, and it's a clean split... you hardly even notice it's there. What would somebody recommend I put on this to keep it from getting worse? It's not a gaping hole or anything it's hair-thin... thanks!

Has anyone had experience with these? I have read that the scs line is the ones to get if any but was wondering what people have to say about the components in general. Will be most likely looking at the 5.25" comp set possibly a 6.5" set.

Hey guys have seen alot of painted boxes and for the build I'm doing I wanna go with a House of Kolors blue on the box. What kind of prep work is involved in setting up mdf to be painted? Is it neccessary to resin the whole outside of the box or will a high build primer work on mdf? thanks.

I'm really curious to see what the Le of an 12" XCON is. My heart has been set on an AE AV-X driver for the longest time, but i keep coming back to SSA and ponder if I should just get the XCON. I don't have an amp yet, it all depends on what driver I decide on getting. My hesitation comes from getting a high xmax driver. Every one I have purchased has such a high Le that they typically never exceed 63hz. yes, I know I could beef up my front stage, but it would require a lot of modification to either fit a larger driver, or another driver. i have an 06 Trailblazer so I have the space, but I would like to keep it as a sealed enclosure. Just getting back from a deployment and there are alot of new stuff out there so... I'm looking into getting a pair of 10s. I was looking at the IDQ and IDMAX but since I got to this forum I'm seeing sundown and ssa as well as some other's. I already had a box built to hold the IDQs but right now I'm running two american bass dx 10s which by the way for 35 a piece I'm rather impressed with them to say the least. What would you guys suggest. Right now I have a choice of running between 900-1700 rms and the box I have I think has 1.5 cuft per chamber...

Purchased the New Minataur II, Currently have two IDQ 10's running off a Zapco Comp 300 (Will be replaced with the Minatuar), Sounds decent, Was possibly looking to pick up a single Alumapro Alchemy MX 12 and giving that a shot instead of the two 10's, I'm pretty much in to SQ and prefer tight base but def dont mind it getting a bit load every now and then.
