to anyone out there claiming to hit a certain number with their solo X 12's do me a favor and OWN their a$$. i am getting kinda sick of seeing the crap floating around and hope i dont have to see it here. maybe if we nip it in the bud in every forum we all visit we wont have to worry about it spreading here. Now if they say their solo X 12 is valid because of a red or black X in fingernail polish, let em believe it, me a tracy are just making a couple bucks off the sucka's we got enough to retire yet tracy? Showed off the 302s to a friend who is running an entirely Alpine Type-R setup. He was quite impressed... I believe his exact words were, "Wow, now that is clarity." His Type-R components sound pretty good, don't get me wrong, but they most definatly weren't equal to the 302s -- and he agreed with that no arguments. The Type-R tweeter sounded somewhat shrill in comparison and the midbass capability wasn't anywhere near the 302s. And, of course, since he had no EQ you could sense the mids rolling off in his car, where that wouldn't be happening with the 302 midrange. Steven, I need to track you down sometime you can take a listen -- you might end up wanting a set!

okay i will be getting everything that's in my room installed either today or tomorrow depending on the shop's availiability. but i would really like to know how to stuff my box with polyfil. i went to wal-mart and found that they come in pillow shapes like 12 x 8 or somethin and they are different sizes. now am i supposed to just buy a couple of those and cut them open and dump what's inside into my box or what? i have a 2.3 cubes sealed box after displacement. how many of these things should i buy? now this question should probably be somewhere else but hey i'm using stereo integrity products so i thought i'd just get all the help i can at once. since i will be getting…

so to my suprise my 12" d2 came in the mail today. It was scheduled to show up on tuesday. (Thank you FedEx!) anyways i wired it all up, my jbl 1200 at 4 ohms, so 600 watts, just to see how it does and play around with it. sealed box, 1.6 cubes after displacements. well wow, this sub is very very accurate. its so quick. and its suprisingly loud off just 600 watts. i cant wait till i wire my jbl up to 1200 watts which will be in a day or two. Pics will be up tonight as i dont know where my sister is and she has my cam. side note - i didnt hear any ticking noise for most music, but i played a bass song that plays low to high notes and it seemed i heard a kind of rattl…

Hey guys, I'm building a box for a S8L7 sub and had a few questions. I want to make the largest reccomended sealed box which is .75 cubic feet for this sub. now, a 12x12x13.25 box with .75 thickness would give me 0.74967 cubic feet which would be dead nuts for what I want. now is the .75 reccomended volume including the volume that the sub will take up or do I have to make the box volume .75 plus the sub volume? Also when calculating the wedges, Kicker reccomends a 2x2x.75 wedge. correct me if I'm wrong, but I calculated the wedge volume to be .0017 cubic feet. Where should I put the wedges? are they required in every corner? thanx... dan

I have had my 15D2 for a couple weeks now. I have a Tantrum 1200.1 I am going to be pushing it with once I get it running to its full potential (need alt and batt). Currently I am running this beast with a PPI PC2150 (600 watts). I had very high expectations of this sub after all the readings. I have had it in two boxes one a 4.5 cuft ported to 30hz, and currently 2 cuft sealed. I went to the sealed do to size. This sub is very impressive. It hits the looooows, extremely well, better than other 15s I have heard. This being my first time owning a 15 (always had 12s) I was nervous about the recovery from the low tones to the highes. Well the Mag rollsovers from the lows to …

you should come out with some speakers for DIY people. like some 6.5 o 8 inch midbass drivers! ive heard lots of cars with nice systems, but getting your midbass to match the sound of your sub is really hard. and in my preference i think it sounds really nice when your sub sound matches the midbass cuase it sounds more fluent. i would def buy SI midbass stuff to match my sub, long as you dont bust out that 230 bucks per driver stuff that makes us all poor hehe. i dunno thats just been running through my head today

i have just killed an SE after a dodgy binding post causing the amp to send 850w to a single coil! and im considering a 12 SI magnum. bearing in mind, the SE12 was receiving 1250w rms, and did 135.9(termlab) in an SUV in a 1.8cu ft box tuned to 30hz. what can i expect from an magnum running off 850w rms?? i have been told they are efficient? but are they efficient enough to out do the SE the SI will go in a similar if not the same box. what can i expect? SPL and SQ wise? what sort of box would suit it best? thanks in advance
