Subwoofers / Speakers

any thoughts on what the best sounding enclosure for these subs are? I would lean towards vented for the boom, what do you guys think, gonna build a box for one soon. I want deep sounds, also some snap when I need it though.

I am getting very irritated with my PG Tantrum. I have not had it in long at all. And this thing is suppose to put out 1507 watts (by BS). Well my PPI PC2150 does alot better on my Magnum than the PG. I do not get it. I put my Mag in a 2 cube sealed box and still does not help it. I had the Tantrum turned about 3/4 the way up, the ssf on about 30, the crossover on about 80hz, and the bass boost barely up at all and my PPI out does this amp. Everyone kept telling me it had to be a setting on the amp so I gradualy turned it up a little more, and yes I was getting some major movement out of the sub at high volumes but at volumes of 21 and less (Alpine HU) it was like there w…

I am wondering what the mounting depth of a 15D2 is? and also how much room behind it (between the magnet box) should you leave?thanks.

I would like to hear peoples opinons on the Adire Audio Kodas 6.5 2 way component speakers. How would you describe the sound from them and how do they compare against other brands such as Focal and CDT ect.

i ordered a 15" magnum d2 but i didnt get a box yet. my friend says i could use his box. its a 15" and its ported but its only like 2 cubic feet. i do plan on gettin another box but how will the magnum sound in this box

I have been running these subs in a sealed enclosure now I want to try ported. I am trying to build an LSQ ported enclosure for my 12" HX2 DVC 4ohm subs. I have downloaded the manual and searched the forum history. It seems that they are missing some numbers. I was wondering did anyone have a complete listing. For ex. there isnt any Qes,Qms etc.. If anyone has done a nice LSQ set up for these subs I am would love to have suggestions. I was thinking of tuning it to the low 30's. Hey, I was wondering what you guys think of this idea. I've seen it done before and think it's awesome. At the back of my trunk (back as in back of the car) there is a small slightly recessed "well" on each side (Taurus). I have seen an install of a pair of small subs, one on each side, and thought it was pretty cool. I'm fairly new to fiberglassing but I pick up things pretty fast and I think I could pull this off. Basically I want it to look unique, custom but still OEM-style, and pound hard, yet still offer the trunk space I need for long trips. My concerns: 1. I installed them today in the back of the rsx in a sealed box. They are running off a jble 1200.1. So far I havent been pushing them too hard because i want to break them in properly. They are running off the stock head unit spliced into my rear speaker. They wont get very loud but when they do they shake your whole body. They are very accurate and have great response to the fast bass lines. I'll be getting a real head unit next week and be ready to push these to their limits. No, you did not read that incorrectly... it says 302. Today I built the final incarnation of the SI 302 crossover, Nick and I are both very happy with the result. The set uses a 7" poly-cone midrange driver (5 7/8" cut-out) and a textile dome tweeter. I have my PG Tantrum 1200.1 on my 15 D2 and I am not getting much movement out of my sub at levels of 20 and lower on my Alpine HU. once I push it past the 20 mark it starts moving, it moves an insane amount at 25. Anyone have any ideas why? maybe my elec system not giving the amp enough power? I do need a yellow top bad, and possibly a new alt. I have the PG 1200.1 which is 1507 watts by the BS and a PPI PC2150 which is 300 watts.

I am going to be changing my install around here very soon, and I am going to try to invert mount either my 15a or my Mag, it depends how much vision I lose... I am going to try to recess it so it doesn't affect vision, but nonetheless I was wondering if it was possible to get replacement mounting gasket and magnet cover for the Claw Mag. I think everyone agrees these baskets should be shown off, but there is some glue on these 2 items and I feel it would be an injustice to mount such a nice sub with glue and worn plastic on it. here's a few pics of a standard cab s10 install i did saturday.. it's a single 12" he2 bieng pushed by a modded profile california 1200..benched over 880wrms..in a 2.25ft^3 ported enclosure tuned to 34hz... it's kinda cramped, but u can still get to the jack..hehe also, this thing sounds great and hits hard as frock... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I keep coming on to the boards and looking at everyone setups, and god its making me want to buy some Magnum 15s. I already have 2 of the 12s (claw basket) but dang im such a basshead. Oh well, i guess i can feel lucky that i have the original prototype. (its still not a 15 though) lol. oh well, have fun with yall mags guys

Well, it was so nice out today, I decided I'd rip all my carpet out and get it ready for when my eDead arrives. Also did some work on the baffle. Here's some pics so you guys can get an idea. Here's 2 shots of the 15 mounted and hanging from the baffle. And here's one peering down through the 6x9 hole. Still waiting for it to get a little warmer so I can glass the baffle and finish it up. I'm also thinking about painting the top plate of the MAG a translucent green? What ya think?
