hey guys..i been looking at a jl 13w3v3 model and a idq 12v3 model as well.. i was wondering of these two what your opinions are on going sealed with about 500 watts going to them?

Hello, I am buying a 15" Xcon for a friend of mine(he gives me the cash, it's really not a gift !!!). He builds enclosure for some shops around here. He has a 15" Kicker S15L7 in a 6 ft3 sealed enclosure with about 1300watts rms of power. It's the best sounding L7 I've ever heared : huge amount of bass, great low end notes,... How can he achieve that with the Xcon ? Would it be better with a sealed or a ported enclosure? Few people seems to use the Xcon in sealed boxes, how is the output in sealed boxes ? He has a little trunk, the 6ft3 enclosure takes all of it! We made some mesurements, and here is what he can afford now : 35cm*49cm*80cm or in inches : 14" * 19.6" * 32…

i have a 91 honda prelude si and im looking to get better sound in my ride. right now i have a eclipse cd5030 headunit and im going to be getting a 2 set of crescendo audio tweeters. i was wondering what would be a good mid woofer or coaxial speaker to use with the tweeters. i listen to all kinds of music but most of the time its rap.

I'm thinking about replacing my two-way components with a DIY three-way front stage. I'd purchased a set of Seas CA18RLY 6.5" woofers and 27TAFNC/G tweeters last year, but the mids are too deep for the stock door locations. I ended up going with JBL P650c components which sound good, but I've always wanted to try something better. The plan would be to put 4.5" mids in the door panel, and put the 6.5" woofers and tweeters in the kick panel. I have a SAX-100.4 and SAX-100.2, so I should be fine with amplification. Any suggestions on 4.5-5" mids that will complement the other pieces but still comes in a shallow depth (<= 70mm)?

Simple question, i'm thinking about installing my component set today (finally) and i'm about to check to see if i can make a baffle board or if i need to do rings. either way, i know i have to make the MDF waterproof and i planned on using resin. Now, when making my box, i was told not to put the speaker in the box for 24 hours because the fumes from silicon sealants are known to eat away speakers. Is this true with resin? I ask because i would really like to get them running today, but i also don't want to ruin $250 worth of speakers. Looking for a quick response!! okay so my gf has these cheap kenwood speakers and the dust cap is starting to come unglued from the surround. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_43777_Kenwood-KFC-W12PS.html what can i use to get them to stick back together well. the sub still works obviously but there is an annoying sound i'd like to fix. thanks!! edit: its only about a 1-2 inch part that is coming up from the surround so nothing too crazy lol

I've heard people changing sizes of the sub when they do a recone, so I guess my question is how? Don't you need the correct basket size or can you recone a 15 or 18" basket into a 12"?

It's funny how people used to like Treo subs just as much, if not some more than RE subs and nobody talks about them anymore. I'm thinking of upgrading my system within the next few months. So im putting the ssd15 in a 3.5-4cuft box. Tuned to around 32... do i really need 4-4" round pvc ports? Could 3 6" ports work? Or is my math way off?

I was at a friends house the other day and noticed he had a pair of speakers laying around he wasnt using.. I asked him why and he said "idk how to hook them up.." So I took a look at them and saw they were kind of old, but also noticed that they were Polk Audio speakers..
