guys i have absolutely no scales at my hplace but need to get an accurate number as to how much a single 12" D2 weighs unpackaged, just as it is...any ideas?????????????????????????

Hey all, Scott Stoner just called me and gave me the news that with one of Clarke's 12" Magnum's in his vehicle with 1200 watts he posted a 150.8 on a new Termpro mic at a competition over in California. WOO HOO!!!

I'm really stuck on this guys please help me out. Which amp do you think would make a really good pairing with the magnum 15''? I want to keep it under 1000 watts so there is no need to upgrade electrical. My budget is $450 and under preferably under 400 though. I've been looking at soundstream rubicon series and the tarantula series T700W amp what do you think of these two amps? Also for cheaper maybe a hifonics 1000W? I'm really stuck please just give me some suggestions to look into thank you very much.

I just want to publically thank Nick for fixing my Mag(original 'claw' basket),not only did he fix it but he also did it in timely fashion.The man answered all my emails promptly w/o hesitation, I tip my hat to you,SIR.Man I cant wait to get her back ,this week I'm on vacation so I gonna pull out the damn rear speakers that keep rattling with all the bass in the trunk.Again thanks SI,thanks Nick,job well done........oh,BTW I'll be alittle more carefull next time!

well. i was going to get a 12 inch d2, but then i heard about those darn 15's. i dunno what to do. ayone know how a 15 compares to a 12 d2? my only reasoning for going to the 15's would be to get louder, and deeper. box size cant get much bigger than about 2.5 cubes, sealed.

well i have a set of alpine type r 6x9's that i used to use for the rear fill, ever since june when i got my k's the pressure would build inside the trunk and distort the hell out of type r's in the rear deck. so they have been sitting in my room for some time now and i was thinking about making a set of Infinite baffel kick panels for them. i was considering getting some crystal comp set, but i wanted to see what i could do with what i already have and save some money hopefully. i want Infinite baffel because i know they will sound good like that and because the trunk used to act like a giant box for them. so what do you guys think about this here idere? al

I'm tired of guys posting topics about what subs are louder than anothers, it's not about what company,brand or whatever sub you have that makes your drivers loud @ all , same goes for amps. The key to have a successful system in your ride is first matching your amp to your subs, since I've been out there seeing what guys are putting in there cars I've noticed that alot of people are just slaping any'ol thing without doin the needed research to find out what they really need.. Ok guys... here is what will be my spring project!! I have a 2k3 Grand prix GTP... nice size trunk, though i'd like to have as much of it left as possible. Here is what I am thinking: 2 15" Magnum D2's 2 PG Tantrum 1200.1's Sealing off the trunk and facing the speakers and port into the cabin. I will have to customize a way for my whole back seat to fold down, but i'm sure that will be managable. I figure I'll have to build this box inside my trunk to get it to fit. We did a install using kicker amps and subs and I got to reading the fine print on the box lol and I found that there amps were made in korea and I was wondering if there subs were made there too If so , I'll never buy another kicker product again

hey guys, the 15" mag will be coming before i know it and i haven't got anything to power it with. i dont mind running it at 1 or 4 ohm, i'm just looking for the best means of driving it for STRICTLY daily driving. money IS a concern but doesn't have to be a very big issue. i was originally looking at either the hifonics BX1500d or BX1000d, but have now realized that for a hundred bucks more, there is better. also, The JBL 1200.1 crossed my mind but was ruled out. I am running the stock alt and am going to do the BIG 3 fairly soon. now im looking into Phoenix Gold. Once again, these reviews are bassed of mostly first hand experience Adire Shiva - One word for this driver would be "Tight". At the price of $125 for the 12", (the only size it comes in) this is an awsome sub that will make your ears tingle with joy if you like SQ and low tight bass. These work well in ported and sealed boxes, however they generaly like a little larger of a box then other subs that they compare to. There is no one given rms rating for it but anywhere from 150 watts to 500 watts is good, and yes 150 is enough to make this pound. My take on the "Super Subs" from mostly first hand experince. RE XXX - Loudest LSQ sub when given the power is needs, Very good SQ. If you can fit a larger box over 3.5 cubes and can give it 2k watts its the best bet. If you have about 1k watts or less I would go with the brahma which will get just as loud and sound a tad better. Under $400 shipped which is a good value. Largest of the bunch also, takes a stong person to lift a 15 lol. Adire Brahma - Best SQ/LSQ of the 3. With 1k watts its just as loud as a XXX. I've been reading a lot about those new mids/components coming out, ED's big midbass, Adire's Extremis, RE's XXX 6.5, etc. and was wondering what some people thought of them. Me, personally, I can't wait for the XXX, mainly because I'm a big RE fan, and they are supposed to play from like 60 hz to 4-5khz clean! now that is a feat, but we'll just have to see how good they actually are when it gets closer to release time. Also, that XBL ^ 2 4" "full" range speaker, jeebus, that sounds impressive, but as i said above, we'll have to see. :ph34r:

well i did it 5 minutes ago... $350 sent to SI for my 15" and i couldnt be happier (even though i've never seen or heard any D2). im getting prepared to be blown away. man i gotta sit down... anyone else crack yet?

this is to do with the comps (307) how low does the 5.25 go. and what you guys are useing for the gap from the 307 to your subs... i seen one guy with the peerless midbass in his doors of his 97 camaro, which model are they.... thanks jamie

It just arrived.

I'm driving to work,all of a sudden NO bass.Well I get to work,pop the trunk and see the sub sitting upright next to box.The driver came loose from the box,I could not believe my eyes.Later that evening when I got home I screwed the sub back onto the box,turned the system on,went back to trunk,all I hear is rattling.Man I'm so pissed,anyways I emailed Nick to find out how much it would cost to fix,lets see what happens.Man I love that sub and just got the Brutus for it too,just had to let it out,thanx for listening !

i have a beyond audio inhuman 15 it is a quad coil and i was wondering how i can hook up all 4 coils too one amp? any ideas??

Alright...now that I have the accuracy/SQ of the system all set (Sealed pair of Magnums), I'd like to find something that really exaggerates the low end....I'm looking for an Fs lower than 26hz with a box requirement that doesn't exceed 4 cubes in a ported alignment...It can take lots of power if need be (up to 2200w) so long as it is a DVC2 woofer....I'm looking for either 2 12's, 1 15, 2 15's, or 1 18 to acheive this...without going over the $350 mark..
