I recently have started the search for a crazy spl set-up . Along the way I stumbled upon these subs called SoundSplinter . Always being one to give anything a look , I decided to investigate . I was plesantly suprised at what I found . What seems to be a quality sub at an even better price . So that is why I came here . I am thinking of going with either 2 or 4 15's . I will be powering them with a Directed 2400D . I am most interested in the RL-p 15's . Does anyone know if my 2400D would run 4 of these monsters . I am currently running two MTX 9500 15's in my Focus ZX3 . I am looking to use this as my daily driving set-up . Since this system is stupid loud as it is , I …

Well I currently have a solox 18 and I know that they are two different subs but I got the opertunity to pick up an 18 that hasn't been used for a used price and then I figured I would purchuse another to even it out. I understand that the 2 subs are totaly different. The RLP's will see about 1200 rms. I know thats a little over rated but I figured in the 4 months that I have owned the solox I have cranked it 2 maybe 3 times for about 2 seconds a time so I figured I would be pushing it but should be ok. I would install them in 10 cubes at 27 hz in a dodge ram extended cab. I think that they would sound good and still get pretty loud but would they get louder than the…

So to start things off I have a 2000 Silverado ext. Cab. And would like to get away from the Coaxials I have now and put in two sets of Components. My plans are to put both sets of drivers in each one of the doors, two tweeters in the dash, and two tweeters in the back columns. I Personally am a Fan of Pioneer Premiers line of products when it comes to speakers. and this is what im looking to do. Front 6 3/4 Pioneer Premier TS-C720PRS 50w rms 200max Back 5 1/4 Pioneer Premier TS-C520PRS 30w rms 150max For the most part I will be fading the music to the front speakers, the reason i am getting the back is for a little bit of a rear fill, and because I often have people in t…

I have narrowed my search to a 12 sub to the either a single FI SSD or a Sundown SA 12. I plan on using a ZX 1000 at a 2ohm load in the back of a suburban. if you were in my shoes and needed a 12 sub to run in a sealed inclosure and had about 300.00 to spend on a sub which would you chose and why. Feel free to suggest other brands. thanks

  12. Pretty much as the title implies.... I've got a 2004 Yukon XL, and I'm updating the entire system. Just replaced my alternator with a 253amp model from a 3500 series pickup (factory option! bolted right in!), will shortly be wiring up a second 1000cca battery. Dual 1/0 runs to the rear, fused at both ends. Currently only running (1) amp, and old Lightning Audio 1001.d @ 1 ohm, will be swapping that out, most likely to a Skar RP-1501.D. Two Powerbass S10-d (dual coil) subs in a 2.7-ish cu ft box built into the rear quarter panel. Tuning is way too low, probably about 24-25Hz. Factory speakers in the doors and rear pillars, will soon be changing them out - probably doing a …

Well, I was able to get a little more framework on the Z done today. Here's some pics. The PLs in the door. And I bet you think this is just an ashtray...... Well, lift it up and the little microswitch opens and POOF, no more subbass. Flip it down again, and the MAGNUM will breathe fire! Also had to work on an enclosure for some, BAH, JLs. A trio of 10W6s in 3 cubes @32Hz. Doesn't sound too shabby.

Hi, I tried to search for the answer to this question, but couldn't really find what I needed. I have a Zapco C2K 9.0 2 Ohm version. 2 ch amp. I want to run 1 BTL 18' sub. so my question is should I get the dual 1 Ohm and run each coil to a separate channel , or dual 1 ohm coils in series to 2 ohm amp bridged as 1 channel, also what would be the pluses, minuses of running 2 1000w amps to the same sub on different coils? which will work better? sorry for the noob question. and thanks

  16. Which one would be the better choice??? I can get the jbl for 245 and the zapco for 550 shipped, both would be ran at 4 ohms on a 12 Mag. I believe the jbl is rated 787 watts at 4 ohms and the zapco 800 watts at 4 ohms. I really want the zapco but I dont know if power diference is worth $305. Does anybody know if the zapco is stable at 1 ohm??? If yes, then I will definitly pick it up.

Hey I'm looking to buy a single zcon for now but plan on adding another eventually. I want to run it on a crescendo 3500kw amp, and will upgrade to a 200 amp alt and a yellow top optimal. Is one enough? My car was just totaled and ruined my old setup. So now I'm buying a new car. Haven't decided exactly what car Im getting. But I know for sure I am getting a big car. Maybe an explorer. Most likely an explorer. So I'm wondering would you suggest a 15 or an 18 zcon

  18. So i just got my Zcon 18 installed in my 6.7 cu. ft. Net Box. it is tuned at 34hz with 112 sq in port. Currently its running off US Amps MD1 (1200rms) and gets pretty **** loud. This is a Great sub, well built and very good looking. not quite as good sq as my Stereo Integrity Mag V3 but its close. (that could also be due to the higher tuning as the mag was in a 28hz box.) Im wondering, would it be worth it to double the power to 2400watts? for a daily application would it really be much louder? the sub already moves pretty good as is. If i upgraded it would be to this: Audioque AQ2200D ($430) DC Power SPX270 or XP300 Alternator ($590 or $500) Kinetic HC2000 to replace sto…

I have 2 18" Zcons I recently got, and I just realized the baskets are slightly different. 1 sub stands a little taller then the other, one basket has the option to be a quad terminal, and has different cooling. Wondering if I can still wire subs together to 1 amp with no worries. All coils read 1.0

before I start building boxes and wasting money I want to ask for your guys help/opinion. I know there is a manufacturers spec for a box buthave any of you ran a single 12 zcon before? if so what size box and tuning did you try? mine is going in a 02 cavalier coupe. I can go 16 inches high 22 inches wide and 32-34 inches long depending if I want the amp on the back of the box or not.. but just looking for some input from people who have had experience with one before.

im wanting to get the best output out of my zcon before I build a box. im going to be running it on a bc3500 @ 1 ohm. the electrical will be good. using a singer 250 and 6 yellowtops. what my question is should I go with a bigger box around 3.5-4 cubes or a slightly smaller one because of of the power around 2.5-3 cubes. both tuned in the low 30's? any input/help would be greatly appreciated
