Subwoofers / Speakers

hey guys, i was wanting to install my jl speakers buttt i had a question i know u guys can help me out with. my stock speaker size is 6x8 in front and back. up front, i have the jl 6.5s and im doing tweeters up in the pillar up front. then in back is where my problem begins, the speakers are 6x9s and the hole is for a 6x8 so how much if any will i have to cut out to make them fit?

hey all, i just finished my box.... i was just wondering if it was better to place my sub(on the baffle) close or far away from the port opening or center it on the port opening OR not care about the location all together.btw it`s a 3.5 cubic foot box with the port fireing on the same side as the sub.

I am wiring my d2 subwoofers to 1 ohm. When looking at the diagram below the outputs from the amplifier go to different different coils. I am about to install 2 18's in the back of a Gmc Sierra Ext. Cab. I will be taking the back seat out. My question is should I have the subs and port facing up or Subs facing forward and port up. I was told to have the subs facing forward and port up but I would like more opinions on this. Thanks,

i have a the only thing in keeping from my old system is the alpine head unit. i ordered a audiopipe 1500.1 and a 100.4 and kicker ks 6.5s and 6x9s for the 100.4. i need input on the subs i was thinking 2 kicker l7 12s or 2 ia lethal injection 12s they will be in about 5 cubes before displacement. i want it to be as loud as possible dont care about sq thanks for the input in advance

I friend of mine is doing a budget system and wants some good coaxle's. He just wants a pair of 6x9s for the rear and 5 1/4s for his front doors. I had a pair of 3 way MTX 6x9s back in the days and imo they gave me pretty good highs. Who else makes good quality coaxle's? He's going to power them off a Alpine CDA-9886.

My dad has an old Jensen box that had an 8 inch woofer and a 2 inch tweeter in it, it sounds great but the woofers surrounds are worn away now. I need to replace the woofer in it but I'm having trouble finding one to go with the tweeter, fit in the box, and match the rms of the amp. The tweeter is 8 ohm, the box has about 4.25 inches of space, and his amp puts out 75 rms at 2 ohms and 50 rms at 4 ohms. He needs this for rear fill and to add some bass. This is for his work van so I need to use these enclosures as they just fit behind the seats. If it helps the original box handling was 75 rms at 4 ohms.

Im going to be doing some fiberglass work to my truck door pannels and figured i might as well get a new set of comps while im at it. I'd like my budget to be around a few hundred bucks, id like to include the amp in that budget too haha. I was thinkin' about some AQ 6.5s but to me they just dont look like they will do the job... anyone have a set? Then i was thinkin' about a set of Type R's, buutttt then again i'm not really feelin' it. So just throw some options out for me Dont forget to add the prices too! Links are great as well

My question is pretty straight forward I'm currently upgrading from 2 type r 12s I am just wondering what i should go with 2 ssd 18s or 1 btl 18 any suggestions? I have enough space for either, and will buy enough power for either thanks i'm not sure why i wouldn't go with the btl I just think 2 18's in my s10 would be gnarly

im looking to upgrade from my previous setup which consisted of 2 AQ sdc2.5 15's and an AQ1200D, basically i want to get louder, but i have the same limited space i had before. the dimensions i have to work with are 47" wide, 15" deep, and 35" high. i will be using an AQ2200D to power this system. i mainly listen to decaf music or other rap/hiphop 90% of the time, other 10% is rock/metal. so a sub that likes to be tuned low is what im going after. my budget is 500-600 bucks tops. im just having a hard time making a decision because i want to make sure this setup will get louder... i dunno if i want 2 15's that can take more power, or a single 18, or a IA DP 21, or 4 12's.…

I sold my old system to a buddy back in my home state. It's a Fi BTL 12" (2nd gen) on a hifonics brutus 2610d. He called me last night saying that he hadn't played the system in a little over a week, but when he got back in the car, the sub was hardly playing, but would occasionally kick back in for a few seconds. He said the amp stayed on without going into protect. I had him check his Subwoofer HU setting, check the RCA's, and the speaker wires connected to the amp. He said everything looked to be fine. The only thing that I can think of is that a wire came loose from one of the coils in the box and the sub is only seeing half power and only on 1 coil. Any other thought…

I've just bought a new Pioneer TS-W308D2 dual 2 ohm VC subwoofer. This is the first sub I'm building an enclosure for so I wanted to keep it simple the first time around and stick with a sealed box to keep things easy and relatively foolproof. I may go ported in the future but that's another build for another time. I have two different 2 channel amps (Kenwood KAC7204 ~500 RMS bridged 4 ohm for the subwoofer and an Earthquake T1000W/2 ~200 RMS x 2 channels 4 ohm for the 6.5" comps that I'm putting in the front doors (I'll keep the gains turned well down on the amp to the 6.5 comps). I have a 09 Silverado and I'm thinking about getting something like a console custom built so I can mount my iPad in it. I have a sundown sa-15 with or without box and 2 kicker cvt 6.5" subs. I have a guy that wants to trade me a dd 3512 with box and $60 for them. Would it be worth it? I will most likely not use it very much and just try to sell it cuz I have a dc xl 12. What is the going price on the 3512s?

Right now I have an Icon 15 in 3.5 cubes tuned to 34hz being powered by a JBL GTO 1200.1 II amp that puts out 1100 watts at 2 ohms. What I'm thinking of trying is a sealed 18 in 4 cubes and powering it with a Sundown SAE-1200D. It's just a thought. I have had sealed setups and liked them before and never tried an 18 before. So far I'm looking at either a Fi Q 18 or SS RL-p 18.

after wanting a nice pair of subwoofers for a while i decided to go with some fi bl's but im not sure with what options to get them. do they come with woven tinsel leads ? im going to install them in a 97 silverado taking the back seats out i want to put 2 18's. i already have the amp and is a kx 2500 thats the reason im going with bls and not btls. i usually listen to hip hop reggaeton and country and im not going to compete just love loud loud shaking music
