  4. Heres the situation...I have Boston Acoustic NX67 (around 5yrs old) in the back of my rsx. The problem is that when i raise the volume on my Alpine 9807 HU to around 15 at 200hz, mid-range +4 I get severe distortion from these speakers. A ppi 2240 amp is powering both these speakers and the front CDT Classic Components. The Comps sound beautiful at this volume, you can really here the mids and highs articulate and hereinlies the problem. I want to be able to play my deck at this volume at this specific x-over frequency (200hz) without the rears distorting. Would I be best suited to 1.) replace the boston coaxials with a speaker that can handle higher rms, 2.) replace…

HELP please WHich would be the best for the rear of my rsx...i want something that is clean sounding, has nice mid range presence (spl) and will give me crisp, accurate highs. I am currently looking at cyrstal csx615, infinity kappa 652,5i, polks db675, and image dynamics ctx6. I have cdt classic comps in front with silk tweets. Which speakers would suite my needs best as I do not have a store locally taht has any of the aforementioned speakers. Thanks

So i have cdt comps in the front and i like them at this volume and i only have a 2 channel amp ($$). So...my boston rallys in the rear distort like crazy even when i only run them off the amp and i dont want to run them off the deck cause i like the imaging i got now i just dont like that i cant take the volume past 15 at the mid level i have at 200hz...perhaps its time to replace them? I want some coax that wont distort easy how are these cyrstal audio csx615?

This box is very well built if I do say so myself. I do good work I am just slow to start anything. If I ever make a cut I get down to bizzzness but if I don't I just sit around and don't do crap. I have to find the pics I took of my Orion 2500 and the install I did for a friend with a CMPx2 15 and a Crossfire 1000d. http://www.sounddomain.com/memberpage/463709

Speakers: A speaker converts electrical energy to mechanical/acoustical energy. It uses a coil of wire, which acts as an electromagnet, set inside of a magnetic gap of a permanent magnet. It is pretty simple if you think about it Voice coil motivation: When a current is passed through the coil of wire, called the voice coil, it generates a magnetic field. This electromagnet interacts with the field in the magnetic gap and the voice coil moves. The direction of movement depends on the direction of current flow through the VC. Since audio is an AC waveform, current flows in one direction and then changes polarity, the VC moves either forward or backward from its point of…
