Subwoofers / Speakers

i've been running my magnums sealed for awhile now i feel it's time for a ported box. SI recommends 1.5 cubes per sub tuned to 32 hz. my question is doesn't anybody have there subs in this type of enclosure and how does it sound? or will it sound better in a different size/tuned box?

my car has stock 5.25" speakers in the doors and i really wanna KISS on the front stage, with a 2-way. of course i will be deadening and sealing my doors as much as possible, but right now, i dont wanna spend too much on the mids 70 per will probably be the max for me. I have the seas neo metal version sitting here next to me and a set of aa poly mids. the only problem i think will be the fact the stock grill will ONLY fit a 5.25 speaker and i don't want any bad reflections off the inside of the door panel. I wanna HP the mids over ideally around 80hz, but if i must go to 100 i must. For the amps, i will have an Usamps md42 bridged at 180x2 @ 4 ohms so power should…

What's peoples opinions on the HCCA's? I seen a website that sell's the 10's for $200 a pop I was thinking like 5 of those off a sundown 3500 would slap. (I'm debating on what to get for an SUV I don't even have yet lol)

Picked up a dual behind the seat truck box for $50 for my crewcab f250. its made for 2 10's with (so they say) 5.25 mounting depth and .75 cubes per side. The amp ill be using is a t5002 putting out 900-1000w @ 2ohm bridged. I looking at the SE SR10d2's they have a 5.25 MD and say they work in small enclosures and the ID10v3's with the 5.25 as well. When the box gets here and if I can mod it to fit something deeper maybe 5.75" so the IDQ10v3's or maybe step up to SR12's or the IDQ12v3's might be an option. both say they will work in that small of an enclosure but im looking for real world opinions. Hey guys need some help for a box for a Level 4 12". Im going to have 2 Lvl412's ported, giving them about 1200w each. On the DC site they recommend 1.5 cubes for Ported, and 2 cubes for SPL ported. I guess my first question is, is this measurement net or gross? Also, im kinda looking for a daily/spl setup, so would it be alright to go with 1.75 cubes per sub? And another thing i wasn't sure of, whats the recommended port tuning? for SPL or daily? Has anyone had a preference with these subs and has another recommendation? Thanks, Steven

I'm trying to design a center port enclosure and the port is confusing the hell out of me. I am assuming I am going to have bends in the port.. So would that change my # of common port walls to 3? Also, when measuring port length, do I measure down the center of the port, or divide it in half and measure the centers of the two halves? Any and all help is much appreciated.

Well, my RMB8s won't fit, so I'm gonna ditch the 3-way active and run 2-way with a pair of 7" Revs. Anyone recommend a good tweet to go along with these? Looking at no more than $200 for the pair. Will be moungtd in the door.

I'm thinking about replacing my two-way components with a DIY three-way front stage. I'd purchased a set of Seas CA18RLY 6.5" woofers and 27TAFNC/G tweeters last year, but the mids are too deep for the stock door locations. I ended up going with JBL P650c components which sound good, but I've always wanted to try something better. The plan would be to put 4.5" mids in the door panel, and put the 6.5" woofers and tweeters in the kick panel. I have a SAX-100.4 and SAX-100.2, so I should be fine with amplification. Any suggestions on 4.5-5" mids that will complement the other pieces but still comes in a shallow depth (<= 70mm)?

I want to put some 3 1/2in speakers in my dash to raise my soundstage a little. how would i run these? from the hu, im running some infinity speakers for my front channel and some stock speakers at a really low level in the back... how would i power these 3 1/2in?

i've heard a few recommendations on box specs for the d2 12" original claw basket 12"... how would it fare in a 1.63 cu^3 tuned to 36hz?
