Can anyone who has had experience using, or heard firsthand, any PSI custom built subs give any pros or cons about them? For the price, I like what they claim, i've never heard one in person however. I've seen stuff here and there, but I really don't put much faith in many other forums word; this is my home forum So out of practice posting; My bad, to be more specific, I was eyeing up a set of Platform 2 15's.

Recently purchased an Image Dynamics ID8v3 and built a vented enclosure tuned to 32Hz with 330w from an RE Audio DTS 1000.1. Love the SQ of the ID8, but now wanting more SPL and volume. I have a limited air space (0.6 ft^3 max) and limited mounting depth ( 5.25"). Was wondering if an SD-2 10" @ 2 ohms in a sealed enclosure would have more SPL than the ID8 in a ported 32Hz tuned box? Also, what would be the minimum air space for an SD-2 10" and recommended port tuning at 560 watts? Thanks

Currently own a Fi SSD 18" subwoofer, however I might be selling it. I'm wanting to upgrade to something with a little more SPL. Another 18" woofer since I already have a box that would be within specs for all 18"s I've looked at. I'll have about $350 to spend on a new one it if I do indeed get rid of the SSD. That's without shipping, I'll cover shipping to no matter. So after looking it seems my choices in my price range are: Fi BL 18" ($391.12 with shipping) SSA ICON 18" ($371 with shipping, free shipping through SSA) Sundown X-18" ($350 with shipping, though on pre order for now and would be a long wait, free shipping) Ascendant Audio Chaos 18" ($371.77 with ship…

Ok first off no flaming me please. My current setup is two 12" shallow mount Pioneer subs (sealed down firing) and a Hifonics Gladiator amp...wired 750rms @ 2 ohm. My problem is lately I've noticed a smell which I can only assume is voice coil, and I've been feeling like my output is not what it use to be. When I first had this installed it was hitting very hard and clean. My rear view mirror looked like it would fall off, and my ears would ring it was so low. Very clean, no bottoming or rattle and I loved it. But the guy who installed it set the gain by ear and I always thought he just turned knobs to appease me for whatever reason instead of setting where it should be…

  8. My buddy recently ordered a brand new Fi X 15 without the BP option the other day for me as a gift. I plan on putting it in my girlfriends 2 door blazer. Anybody have experience with the new 750 watt RMS models of these subs? She currently has a VVME 1500 watt amp powering 2 old powerbass M-12's. These amps have clamped around 1400 watts at 1 ohm. I know the X is the entry level from Fi, but it should be able to handle a clean 1400 watts, right? Also, Anyone know the best sub/port combo for a blazer? The current setup is subs and port back. I havent tried anything else in there. It's pretty flat down to about 40hz but below that is a steep drop off. I was thinking sub up …

Looking to go with a 12" sub hopefully but the box specs are the same if it was a 10 or 12 inch sub. Specs are: 1 ft 3 sealed. 5.75 mounting depth Going to be a stealth box custom made by someone other than jl... I was thinking sundown sd12? Anything out there that i could fit in a box like that and get some decent output?

Currently I have the Alpine Type R SPR-135 5.25" component set, the older model. They are on my Rockford P500-2. They keep up fine with my 18" on most songs, but do fall behind on bass crazy songs. So I was thinking of upgrading to better speakers, as I want more SQ, but still need to be able to keep up with my single SSD 18" on a SAX-1200D SPL wise. I was looking at some pro audio speakers on parts express. I notice there's a lot of setups were people run the 6" selenium woofers along with the ST350 super tweeter. Are these a better setup for SQ than what I have or are they purely SPL speakers ? If I went with those as my mains it would require some fabrication. …

Bought a 2013 jeep wrangler 2 dr a few weeks back, and it definitely needs some audio upgrades. have been looking at components, but still pretty new to them and looking for any advice or guidance on what to look for before I waste my money. So far i have been looking at the following. Around $200 Jbl ms62- seems to have pretty good feedback id ctx, cxs- mixed reviews sundown 6.5cs- not alot of feedback but seems positive other than a few "lacking tweeter" comments massive ck6x - Haven't seen much on these crescendo mezzo- not out yet, look good, but tweeter may not work with stock location on dash? Around $100 pioneer d series- mostly positve some negative tweeter…

  15. My cousin just got these in a trade for his box that I built for his 2 cvx 15's. We hooked them up free-air and they sound find but we won't know for sure until we put them in an enclosure. I've seen them sale for $300+ on other forums. Anybody have any idea on how much they are worth? Guy wants him to add cash and we're just trying to see what's a fair asking price for these. I have been up and down on what I wanted to put in my trunk. After some help from others on here I have got a starting point to get some good opinions. If this is still not a good starting point just tell me what I need to do. So I have measured my trunk and found that 34L x 34W x13H would be the largest enclosure I would be able to get in and out of my trunk with out building multiple piece enclosure. So with this new information I have realized that what I wanted to do will not fit in the opening of my trunk. So These are my thoughts of my new direction for my first car audio build. My current sub choices are: -FI BL12d1 x 2 -SA8-v2 x 4 (I would not be against the …

I see a lot of heavy subs or multiple sub boxes being used with double baffles. Is there really any pros or cons to that vs adding some bracing inside the box? I'd think it wouldn't matter much, but I can learn something new here every day!

  18. I have 2 10" older RE SE with the 12 spoke baskets and will be building 2 sealed boxes for them. Its going in a 300zx twin turbo and so i want one in each corner. (I know one box is easier and better but i need room for t tops etc.) wondering if the enclosure recommendations of .4 compact and .65 optimal for the new ones would be a decent guideline or if anyone knows the recommended specs for these models.

As the topic suggest what's the max wire gauge that will fit in the zcons terminals ? Also do you have to run fuses from your battery while running the wire back from the battery ? Thanks in advance going to order all my wiring and fuses tonight. Also the ebay dealer backed out so I purchased another zcon w cb dust cap. So atleast I know I'll have nothing to worry about sub wise.

Now that my system has begun we are looking to build hers. Just on saturday she decided she wanted to start a system for her Kia Soul. This was decided when she bought an Alpine MRX-M55 amp because it was on sale at one of local shops.$230 canadian. I was surprised but happy. She bought it then asked if it was a good deal and a good amp. Guy at store recommended it to her. I figure good amp for that price. Anyways lol. Looking at Fi X12 or Gcon 12 to pair with this amp. She loves metal, Club and yes Bieber LOL so pretty much all types of the bass range. I'm thinking Gcon but she says why not the one you got which was Fi. Any input or other recommendations appreciated…
