Subwoofers / Speakers

I am currently getting ready to purchase equipment for my new setup. I have decided to utilize 3 SA8s and need to know what everyone would suggest for an amp. Not sure on whether Im going d2 or d4 yet so give suggestions based on both coils please.

here i go with my first post and a (very likely) stupid question. I want to build a box, or augment my current box(2x10") to house a 12" & 10" sub so as to realize the advantages of both. box is separated into two equal, sealed sections. lets assume i can accommodate the volume requirements of the 12 accurately enough. can I just wire them separately on each channel of my amp and let'er rip? or am I missing something?

Seems like I read a lot of posts regarding people blowing or ruining their Fi sub for various reasons, causing them to get a re-cone... My question is, are these subs easy to destroy? They seem very durable and underrated, which makes me think the opposite, but after reading on here it seems not to be the case.. I want to get a better idea as to why there are so many cases of Fi subs needing re-cones, and not other subs, like AA or SSA... Any thoughts?

So as most of may know the car that is crashed does not have the speakers or amp....so imma buy these things. for the rear imma go with 6.5 coax's and in the front imma go with components but the hard thing i am finding is which ones i am on a 150 dolllar budget on speakers. I found these 3 way speakers but i dont know if these are better or worse than the regular 2 way ones. If i go to 2 way imma go RE Audio Components not the xxX i have had them before and i liked them. I can get all 4 speakers for 150 and 100 for the XT800.4 amp from RE /US amps i had this setup before but now im just trying to figure out if the 3 ways are better or what? well after a brief heartatttack this morning. I now have the Proto in my possesion. FedEx dropped it at the neighbors house and when I tracked it this morning and it said delivered I about freaked out, well I did, then my neighbor was like I have what you are looking for. Well, i was just wondering what kind of sub would be the best to get some spl out of a 1 cf box with maybe a little poly fil... Would have to be able to be powered off of a kicker zx750.1 and less than 7" mounting depth... Would like to keep it around 200 bucks but less would be nice and more may be doable but just post anything you think would be good... Sealed box of course and a 12"... Been looking at fi ssd, anything better than that output wise?

I need help deciding on a pair of subs for my new setup. This setup I'd going in an Isuzu Trooper, and so far I have it sound deadened with sound deadened showdowns, I have the component setup run off of a Sundown 2.250, and I now need help making a decision on a pair of subs based on my box and the amount of power I can run. im about to do a new setup for my single cab. not sure on the amp yet but im wanting around 1200 - 1500 watts depending on setup.ive considering doing 2 10 " SA SD'2's ported.or even thought about doing 1 " 12 SSA Icon ported. im limited on space but can make the box long and should be able to get proper airspace depending on what i go with. any opinions for me?

I have a Morel Dotech Ovation 6 two way components installed. I also have a pair of Selenium 6 inch midwoofers in the garage. Now here is the trick part guys. When I heard the Seleniums at a local car audio shop on the board it sounded like a midrange and I have been told over and over and over and over again that Selenium is a midrange speaker. I ask this question running the risk of it possibly being an ignorant question, but ask it in unique interest nonetheless. Seems like when I got involved in forum browsing a while back all the hype surrounded motors utilizing xbl2 technology for their subs (adire, ascendant, re). I remember ascendant audio discontinuing the use of this tech. due to adire supposedly claiming the tech. was theirs and theirs alone to use blah blah this is all very vague. has anyone here used this sub before? Reason im asking is there is one here locally on CL. Price is $250. Seems like a healthy sub. I recently installed a 15" Fi Q in my s10 and im not happy what so ever with it. lol. Clean sounding sub, but not what im looking for. Plus the box is bigger than i really want. I want some pressure in this truck. All i know is what I read on treo's website which makes me believe this will be a better choice than the Q im running now. Looking for anyone with hands on experience or atleast heard one before. This sub being a 12" will hopefully let me build a little smaller box than I have now. Probably power it with a audiopipe 1500 for now.

I have a pair of DCON 12's and I blew one of them so looking to get a pair of new woofers. I loved how the DCON's sounded but looking to maximize my amp's power. The subs I am looking at are AQ SDC2.5, Obsidian Audio 12, Sundown SD-2 and they are within my budget of $350. They will be powered by an AQ1200D. I have a enclosure built by DC Creations and it made my DCON slam hard. If you guys have another suggestion I'm all ears.

so a friend of mine is looking to add a sub to his car, but he cares a great deal about weight (yes, contradictory, but to each his own). He's looking for a 10" driver that weighs less than 20lbs, preferably around 15lbs, that has awesome SQ and lets you slightly feel the bass. So far, he's looking at the eD 11Kv.2, Adire Shiva (having a hard to time to find this thing online), and the Seas Lotus SW250 (isn't sure if he wants to spend this much money, unless its 200% worth it). any other suggestions? are the ixl 15s more of a spl sub? Whats a good amp to power it?

I'm pretty much set on everything but the subwoofer. Comps: Alpine Type-X Refs, 6.5 Comp amp: Profile AP600 (got it for $55!) HU: Clarion DXZ785USB Sub amp: JBL bp1200.1 (spent $100 on this one) Now I just gotta figure out what to put in the ol' hatch. I've got about 1300 watts to work with at 2ohm, 1400 at 1ohm. well i just got my first listen to a 15" SI-D2, and i must say that i am even more impressed than i was planning to be. i was expecting nothing less than spectacular, what i got was slightly beyond amazing. the box i was using is a 5 cube box tuned to 43 Hz. it is a CRX style box being used in a sedan with the woofer firing upwards and the ports venting to the rear of the trunk. i know that this set up is less than ideal, however it was what i had on hand, and i dont have the time to build an appropriate box for it right now. even with this minor set back though, i am still very pleased with the result. the SI D2 delivers very taught, punchy, intense, and chest poundi…

So right now I have a hdc312 on a older nine.1 which is hopefully still around 1200rms... Inwas wondering if anyone knew if I would notice any output difference going to 2k like the sq2200 or maybe like a crescendo or something like that. This is all in a 350z.... O yeah electrical is Stock alt= 110 amp Agm bat up front Big 3 done. All sky high 1/0 wire. I do have a 4ch in the car as well.
