I sold my sa15s for $600 so it's time for something new. I need about 100 or the box so I have 500sih to spend on subs. I'm running an saz2500d what would you guys recommend as in upgrade from the sa 15s? or should I just rebuy the sa15s and profit a bit?

so basically, there are tons of competitors out there. the question is, what is the best 15 inch out there for a budget of ~450 i was looking at an Fi BTL 15 inch fully loaded but then i saw the hdc315 this one is a lot cheaper but is it even close to these competitors? i hear a lot about this sub from a lot of people that recommend it. then i saw the DD audio 3515e, called up a dealer and got a price with a recommended box for a total of 580 bucks with tax and all. thanks for your comments. i look forward to see what people think. also, next question is, what amp should i go for? im looking for something in the price range of ~200-300

So I bought some used DD 9917s off **** and apparently they were just reconed. Well, I had a box built for one of them just to try it out and I started to play it in the car and it wasn't exactly very loud and literally after a minute or so, the sub completely locked up. It was wired to two ohms @ 3000 watts which is pretty much nothing for a 9917. So, after that, I hook up the other one. I notice the strong smell of a burning sub after about 20 seconds of playing it loud then about 2 hours later it starts making a sound like a spring vibrating or something. This one isn't blown YET but I sense it's damaged. When I push down on it, I can feel it rubbing. Any of you guys …

I've heard as a general rule to have at least 12in^2 of port per cubic ft. Is this solely to keep port noise down? Reason I ask is because a box size I've tinkered around with for my next build has 8.5-10in^2, yet in Winisd Pro it shows to only have a port velocity of about 60 ft/s. I've heard anything under 100ft/s is fine. Am I missing something? Facts wrong maybe?

I have a couple questions. First would be: I have an 86 Ford Crown Vic that i just installed some 5 1/4 coaxials in the front kick panels, and i was wondering if i added a baffle or some type of backstop if it would increase the volume a little bit. I dare not list the speakers in question because of the shittyness. They are just mounted in the factory location under the door panel cover. Second question would be if i ran 2 sets of four ohm speakers to my two channel amp what ohm load would the amplifier see. Amp is a RF punch 450.2 powering 2 sets of coaxials. I ran the left channels both positives to the amps positive speaker output and the same with the negative…

Well I had a chance to get a sub I have long dreamed of buying at a price I couldn't refuse. It still made my bank account cry for mercy but as some of you know I'll do almost anything for audio Without further ado, her is my brand-shiny-new Aura NS15 Here it is with the IdMax.... kinda makes it look dainty Top view.... note different approaches to the same 24-25mm of xmax. Side showing cooling solution. This thing has a 4" voicecoil... and I guess that means it needs a 3.5" pole vent? Last we have the model sticker and one of the binding posts.... interesting design. Now I need to choose; car or HT?!

  16. Ok you guys, decided I would try to put 8" Kicker Comps in each door, along with my cadance mids and titanium super tweets. For full-range sound in doors (lows, mids, and highs) it will be in a new sealed fiberglassed pod mounted to door. Any input?? I've heard someone use them (kicker 8') for their mids, so I thought id try em out. I;ll let you all know how it'll sound.

I am so siked first of all! A couple people from REO got me to look into the SSA line and I am very impressed I will be getting 2 of the Xcon 18s and I will be powering them with one Audiopipe AP-3001D. That amp needs a ton of power to put up over 2,000 watts so I plan on getting 2 2400 Kinetiks for the back and maybe a red top under my hood. I drive a 2009 Malibu 4 cylinder soo I'm not quite sure if they even make bigger alternators lol. Hopefully 3 solid batteries will do the trick! Any constructive criticism is welcome Ohh yea and for the build I am walling off my trunk. I still need to have people sick in the back at times so I will probably be putting some type of…

  18. We're selling the heck out of these long-awaited amps. But we haven't had a chance to actually hear any of the 2-channel amps on any subs yet. We stock the 200.2, 400.2, and 600.2. The amps have been very, very well received. But all our sales so far have been over-the-counter sales. Haven't actually had a chance to see how they compare to say the XTA series from SoundStream that we had prior to the release of the AutoSound amplifiers. Any dissappointments or surprises with the ASA amps? Any expected availability date on the ASA 1000.1 and 2000.1 amps?

I would hope that most of you know that I'm not one to post "this vs. that" threads.... with that being said: My CDT CL62's are a little dissapointing. I want to have a four-way ( ) in my Trailblazer: Componant set in the front doors / dedicated mid-bass in the rear doors / sub in the cargo area. I'm of the mindset to go: Subbass - taken care of (Uberwoofer 15" + 1500 watts). Midbass - 6.5", 60-150hz, sealed in 0.5-0.7ft^3. Midrange - 6.5", 120-3khz, sealed (0.5ft^3) or IB. Tweets - 3/4", 3khz plus, prolly metallic, but could do silk. I have 100x4@4ohm rms available. 200@2ohm. If you had $600 to spend on those six speakers & a pair of crossovers, what would yah do?

Ok so yesterday i smelt a weird ass smell. It almost smelt like manure or something. Then I smelt it again today, twice. The second time i popped the trunk and stuck my nose in the port.. found the source of the funk... It was a burning smell. I was listening to music at full tilt which i regularly do. The oinly change i've made was putting on the loudness feature on my headunit. So what's the deal? The spider is fine and the voice coils look ok but they have spots on them that look like rust or something. Also the burn marks of the terminals aren't from me. My sub came like that. Here's the pics. I ripped the sub out to investigate. But i'm stumped. It seems that the sme…

I'm going to try and keep this as short, simple, and straight forward as possible. My trunk's cubic feet is 15.18 ... 2 18" Xcons Vas is 429, resulting in 15.14^3. Good match eh? I hate the idea of having just one subwoofer. I don't know why, but i just do. I want to see what everyone thinks about using Xcons in an IB setup? I read that it decreases power handling, doesn't sound as loud as an enclosure would, but saves space and weight. And hopefully allow me to utilize the amount of cubic feet i have and be able to use 2 18's! I'm just coming up with some ideas, so i don't know if this is just completely dumb or what But i want to keep a lot of options open. So ple…

How would you best characterize the IXL series of subs? Made to be accurate? Made to get loud? Somewhere in the middle? Reason that I'm asking is I'm looking for a sub for a small sealed box to integrate with a system built with musical accuracy in mind.

Since my RCA pictures and speaker wire comments pretty much started a fire last time, here is the official thread to either put up or shut up. I will send out a 20 foot piece of Omni speaker CABLE (no interconnects like I have, as they are just too expensive to send out like that). Twenty feet is more than enough to swap out one side of a stereo with. What I advise doing is only putting this wire on one side of your system, whether it be car or home, and take a listen to the difference. Reply to this topic only if you wish to be on the demo list. I will pay for shipping to a person, and then when that person gets the wire they pay shipping to the next person, and so-on a…
