This might now be exactly how the final version will look, but here's a peek at what I have sitting at my house.

I'm going to be getting these comps installed- CTX65CS - Image Dynamics 6.5" Component Speaker System 2.75" mounting depth I currently have these installed SPS-500 - Alpine Type-S 5-1/4" 2-way car speakers 2" mounting depth I'm going to be upgrading to the larger size for the front speakers, from 5 1/4 to 6 1/2. My concern is in regards to speaker mounting depth. The alpine coaxials have a mounting depth of 2", the ID's have a mounting depth of 2.75". Is there a way to make the ID's work? How would I find out the max mounting depth of the speaker ports for my car? Thanks!

Hey, its been a while since I've posted here. I've been running a maw-15 ported for the last year or so, and i'm really happy with it. I just got a new car and need to downsize a little, so I was thinking about going with the 12" ixl. THere doesn't seem to be much info out there about them, except the review on here. With higher power handling, higher xmax, and just better quality overall, I'm not too worried about the output or sound quality being any less than my maw-15. Am I right? And what would be a good ported box for these? Thanks

  8. Hi guys, I have a very good deal on aDigital Design sub. It's a 9515, very cheap I've never heared any, in a correct box. I don't know how it will sound in a 3 to 3.5 ft3 ported box. That is what I can fit in the "trunk" of my Toyota auris. the Auris is like a little bigger Corolla hatchback 4 doors, with a very small hatch. I still have my 12" BTL n2, but I have a buyer...he's in the starting blocks, waiting to take it from me !!! Originally I was debating between an SSA Zcon and an AA Mayhem, but the DD9515 came and it costs "only" $300 locally ! I think I can't pass on this deal. My amp is a sundown saz1500. I saw some saz 2500 at db-r, but the DD is rated for 1…

  10. Yep yep, I just sent it out a few hours ago. Chad should have it by Wednesday and then he and JimJ are going to try to meet this weekend to do some sealed testing. I was sad to see it go...and it also reminded me of how critical a sub is to a sound system. Damned Audax 5.25's!!

Does anyone have a list of good manufacturers that produce an XBL^2 driver? Specifically looking for Subwoofers, but mids and midbasses interest me too. I've found one manu, but I can't find them again. Their prices were good, but I wonder about quality. Thanks

  12. Hey guys, I plan on building a system from scratch when I buy a new vehicle. Im planning on buying a Jeep Grand Cherokee and buying a BC5500d and I will have plenty of space in the rear of the SUV but I cant decide if I want to get 2 12"s sundown x-12s or an 18" SSA Evil. Those subs are just examples, Im not set on any one brand or sub. What do you guys think? 2 12"s or an 18" or something else possibly? Matt

Hey guys last night I blew my REX10D4's in my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo So here my current situation, I have Kicker DS693's in the front doors and DS65's in the back doors. I was running the REX10's with a Hifonics 1500D @ 4 Ohms which was overpowering them a bit but meh happens.(Amp is 1 Ohm stable) Alright so heres the dilemma I'm looking at either SA10s or E10s.(I listen to Rap/Rock) Currently I have a 3/4 MDF 2.0 cu ft box with 2 separate chambers and L ports tuned to 38 Hz (Also have a Sealed box laying around with .69 cu ft per chamber I believe) Now I'm only currently purchasing 2 with the intent of purchasing another 2 in the future. But I'm unsure which on…

Ok guys my big build (to me) is finally in the works. I have begun ordering and need some advice on my front stage. My car is a 2004 Scion xB. Not a lot of room in the doors as they sit, but I'm prepared to modify the panels to get the sound I want. As of now I'm running a Pioneer DEH-X8600BH head unit (which may change to a double DIN before it's over) so I'm not looking to run active. I just want to get a front stage that actually has some bass to it. Right now without the subs running it sounds like total crap as there's no bass whatsoever to these Polk DB6.5s. I would like to be able to have a setup that would sound great with no sub playing. The front stage as of now…

Hi everyone! This is my first post on the forum as I found myself liking the way SSA forum is handled versus other car audio forums out there and I'm looking for advice from people who really know their stuff! My build is very budget oriented as I am 18 and in college but that's not to say i do not take my bass seriously. I have an APMI 2K with 1/0 KnuKonceptz Bassik wire ran for power and no big 3, all powering 2 10s under my back seat in my 2012 F150 which has already been sound deadened slightly and the back cabin vents sealed. Now to the meat and potatoes of my post. I am looking for some new drivers. My airspace is limited to 2.05cf before displacement shared by both…

hey everyone, I have an Fi Q12, in a 2.2 cuft ported box with a memphis prd 1000.1, but i really want more truck space. So i was going to just get a 1.2 cuft box for my Q12. But the new mag seems very interesting. Will the new mag preform better with a memphis prd 1000.1 and 1.1 sealed box then the Fi Q12? Sell my box and fi Q12 to my friend who is in love with my set up and get a 1.1 cuft box and get the new MAG? or. Keep the Q12 and get a 1.2 cuft box thanks

RE subs have had a really good reputation for sounding great and having a strong threshold for abuse, however there's no talk of them anymore. Did their quality go downhill or is it the raise in price that is causing them to not be as popular as they used to be?

I'm going to try and keep this as short, simple, and straight forward as possible. My trunk's cubic feet is 15.18 ... 2 18" Xcons Vas is 429, resulting in 15.14^3. Good match eh? I hate the idea of having just one subwoofer. I don't know why, but i just do. I want to see what everyone thinks about using Xcons in an IB setup? I read that it decreases power handling, doesn't sound as loud as an enclosure would, but saves space and weight. And hopefully allow me to utilize the amount of cubic feet i have and be able to use 2 18's! I'm just coming up with some ideas, so i don't know if this is just completely dumb or what But i want to keep a lot of options open. So ple…

Quick question that i should know but i don't. I know crossovers split frequencies to tweeters, and midranges, but do they split the power provided as well? For example, if I have kicker ss components which are rated at 100 watts, and I provide a 100 watts from my amp, are the tweeters seeing 50 watts, and the midranges seeing 50 watts? or does it mean, that there is a constant 100 watts of power being supplied to the tweets/midranges at the same time, making each speakers capabilites 100 watts rms? If they do split power, why do they rate the same exact tweeters which are sold seperatley(not part of a component set) at 200watts peak/100watts rms if they are only feedin…

Whats up guys. I am currently in the market for two solid SQ 12's to run off of the SAE-1200D I have on the way. This will be going in another vehicle of mines. I have never done a dual 12 setup so I figured it was about time to try it out. I am currently running a AA Havoc 12" on a SAE-1000D in my daily driver, so I am looking for something similar that will get LOW and maintain SQ. Thanks in advance for the forthcoming input!!!!

I'm going to be installing my focal ps165 component set into my 03 tahoe. My plans are to use the supplied crossovers. I will be using a baffle and possibly deaden the doors in the near future when time and money allow. I have seen several installs in tahoes where they mount the tweeter right above the mid in the doors. My vehicle has room for that but came factory with tweets in the pillars. Not sure which route to take. Doors or pillars? I have read where putting them with the mid is best? I know this may boil down to personal preference but I don't exactly know what to expect from either.

im looking to upgrade from my previous setup which consisted of 2 AQ sdc2.5 15's and an AQ1200D, basically i want to get louder, but i have the same limited space i had before. the dimensions i have to work with are 47" wide, 15" deep, and 35" high. i will be using an AQ2200D to power this system. i mainly listen to decaf music or other rap/hiphop 90% of the time, other 10% is rock/metal. so a sub that likes to be tuned low is what im going after. my budget is 500-600 bucks tops. im just having a hard time making a decision because i want to make sure this setup will get louder... i dunno if i want 2 15's that can take more power, or a single 18, or a IA DP 21, or 4 12's.…
