  2. I was initially going to run the Peerless SLS's to start out with but since i am limited on area for midrange and they are currently not in the best locations i decided to go with a dome for the off axis response and sealed chamber. That will be either the Dayton RS52, or the MB-Q 95-6814 (2" Ti dome) until i can afford the Dyn MD140 Anyway i have heard a few people say that they don't really play low enough/the SLS won't play WELL high enough, i was looking into the Dayton RS225 8" mids. They seem to be very nice and since i am constantly ordering from parts express, its the easy and cheap solution A member on another forum has a mint set of DLS Ultimate Iridiums for 175…

I have a 2005 Toyota Tundra 4 Door and the only thing that you can fit are 8" subs. I was looking at the Kicker CVR 8's and I am probably going to get those because nothing has a mounting depth smaller than 4.5" inches. I was really really considering the Ascendant Audio Assassins but I just recently found out the mounting depth is like 5.1" or something like that. So please help me with what 8's I can get in there, I want something pretty loud. I have friends wtih like 2 12's, and most of them have 2 10's....not really loud 10's or 12's but you get the gist. I have mostly only heard of the basic brands like kicker, jl audio and those types but let me know if you know any…

It's a whole lot worse with 3 subs hooked up. Measuring at the amps, I can get a 6ohm or more even fluctuation.

I just recently got my 97 Buick Lesabre and want to do a budget build in it. What would be some good ones for me to consider? The trunk dimensions are roughly 34w 14h 32d for the box build. I'm looking to get more spl than sq right now I will upgrade the highs and mids at all later date just want to get it going.

  12. i am planning on getting a regular cab chevy colorado within the next few weeks and am starting to plan out the sound system. so far i know the h.u, door speakers and tweeters. but am not sure about the sub, amp or box. i have been looking at ssa and sundown audio. i am more into sq than spl and listen to a variety of music anywhere from rap to metal. and i have a budget for the sub, box, and amp of around 600 to 700. space is the number one issue since its a regular cab, i do not care if there is room in the back i just do not want to have to have the seat pulled up to an uncomfortable position.

After throwing my original plan around for 4 18 inch bl's I decided I just don't want everything to be packed in so tight. I need some room. So I have a question..... Either 4 fi bl 15's or 2 btl 18's. Either setup will be powered by 2 hifonics 2608d's. Help is appreciated.

  14. Quick question, what are the effects of a midbass/range driver missing its dustcap? Recently I dented my cone and tried to fix it but ended up with a speaker with no dustcap attached, no other damage to speaker whatsoever. Its a cheap driver so I can replace it but thought I would ask before purchasing another one. Thanks

  15. As title states, Equipment: -Alpine 9835 in 3-way mode, HP for Tweets, BP for Mids, LP for Subwoofer. 6/12/18/24 dB/oct slopes at various FREQ's. - RE XXX 6.5's currently in .25-.3 cubes SEALED door pods. (2ohm) -Vifa 1" Neodymium Textile Dome autosound Tweeters. (6ohm) -Kicker KX 600.4, 150x2rms for mids @2ohms, ~45-50 x2rms for Tweeters. I haven't even turned it on yet, but currently I have it setup as follows: Sub: LP @63hz 24dB/oct Mids: HP @63hz 24dB/oct, LP @2.5Khz 24dB/oct Tweets: HP @2.5Khz 24dB/oct I would like input as far as the FREQ/SLOPES go, ESPECIALLY the slopes. Is it ALWAYS good to go with steep slopes for ALL settings? Is it better to use say, 12,18 dB/o…

Hey, Yall I just made an account for this page and I have a very important question... Last week I switched my set up from a 1.9 cubic foot sealed box with 2 10" kicker comp ds to a 2.0 cubic foot ported box and I have an awful smell at high bass. I did take my truck and have a local audio shop tune my kicker 1200 watt amp and it still smells... The subs are in perfect condition but they are about 3 years old but the box is a week old... If you need any more info please respond on here or email me at [email protected] Have a great day!

Before anyone asks, not the Blazer, but a Blazer. 12" sealed in about 1.3 cubes with a Hifonics Z600 on it. If and/or when Jake ever shows up on here he can vouche for what I'm about to post on. Our bass demo CD that we have made has everything from Tocatta in B (off the Bass Mechanic CD) to Tricycle (for dynamics) to Bela Fleck, to Spies, to...well you get the picture. Tocatta (sp?) in B is just nuts. Unlike the previous generations of Mag's, there is no shelving off in the extreme low-end (the older Mag's would drop about 3 dB but keep that same level through the lower freq's). As the bass drops, the Mag just keeps the SPL the same. This single 12 off of 600 watts…

So, my sister wants a audio make-over for her '05 Liberty as the stock system doesn't work well with her iPhone and speakers are pretty shot. She listens to a lot of music and A LOT of differnt types of music. Id like to hook her up with a really well rounded system that I can setup and forget it. I have a RF P300-2 Id like to use to power a nice set of comps up front and we'll probably end up going with a run of the mill Alpine HU. Its pretty hard to search for feeling on components on here becuase I feel like everyone either wants some that is just loud, or some that is way outta price range for her needs. We'd like to keep it under $200 for a set of 6.5'' comps that wi…

I could really use some advice here. I have a 2014 2500 Ram that I need to decide what route to take on subs and enclosure. This truck has two cavities in the floor area under the back bench seat. Fox Acoustics makes a box for it that’s molded to fit the area. It gives you 1.55 cu feet per side and it’s tuned to 35 HZ. You can do a pair of 10’s or 12’s but limited to a mounting depth of 7.25” and the magnet must be no more than 6.5” in diameter to work. They also do another box that has a center console for the rear built into this box. It let’s you use 4 10’s and the box is 4.3 cu feet and tuned to 34 HZ. Mounting depth is 7” max and the magnet diameter you can use is 7…

I got rid of the last 3 i owned due to numerous issues i've had with them. My first car was a civic, and well, i've always wanted a blue SI. I found this one a couple states away fs for 6k. Tons of mods, decent mileage, and extremely good on gas, so i said why not? Pic from a meet a month before i took ownership It's pretty much perfect exterior wise. Just needs a rear lip and darker tint. Doing some measurements, i have about 5 1/2 cubes available for a sub box. Here are my options 3 12" xcons sealed. This would be the cheapest of the 3 since i already have 2 1 15" aa smd. Not sure how much one of these will cost me, I've heard from 800 to a 1k? 2 12" zcons What w…
