Was going for a setup with 4 18" tc 5200's but getting the last two woofers fell through so now i'm restarting. I have about 2 grand to put into subs, and a soundigital 8k on tap for power. i can get a ported box back there between 10-14 cubes depending on subs. I'm mainly looking to play low and loud, from 25-35hz and sound really nice daily for music. here's a list that i've come up with so far 6 12" dc level 4's 4 15" zcons 4 15" xcons/ 4 15" dc xl's 4 15" fi n2's 2 18" level 5's 2 18" level 6's (if i can get them) 2 18" tc 5400's 2 18" tc 5200's 2 18" wardens 2 18" smd's any input at all is appreciated. Anyone know where I can purchase a re-coil kit for JL12W6 D2 dual 2 ohms voice coil? JL audio doesn't offer any re-coil kit. Also, is it ok if I use any other brands of recoil kit such as, Fi and any other brands that has the same coil resistance and size? Thanks

Hello all, I've been a motorcycle rider for 3 years, and am finally joining the cage crew. So, to get straight to the point, I believe an XCON will satisfy my desires. I want a sub that hits low and hard. "SQL" with heavy focus on the L. So, I have no idea what i'd need to run this setup. By this I mean big three, HO alternator etc, i'm not sure what i'm looking at. I don't really have a price range since I've been saving for a while (well, let's just say $2,000 so it doesn't get crazy), my main issue is space. I drive a 2013 Ford Focus Titanium, so I don't exactly have a huge trunk. Something I've discovered though is the spare tired is loca…

So, I'm currently using the time alignment feature on my prs80. Tweeters are on the pillars about eye level .The mids are in the doors , in the stock location . I was thinuking of adding a pair of hertz esk 165 in some qform kick panels . I would be wiring them parallel to the doors . Would time alignment be affected significant enought to cause a problem .?The kicks would be about 8 in farther away, and almost on axis .

has anyone here used this sub before? Reason im asking is there is one here locally on CL. Price is $250. Seems like a healthy sub. I recently installed a 15" Fi Q in my s10 and im not happy what so ever with it. lol. Clean sounding sub, but not what im looking for. Plus the box is bigger than i really want. I want some pressure in this truck. All i know is what I read on treo's website which makes me believe this will be a better choice than the Q im running now. Looking for anyone with hands on experience or atleast heard one before. This sub being a 12" will hopefully let me build a little smaller box than I have now. Probably power it with a audiopipe 1500 for now.

So this the story guys. I "supposedly" have 2 DC level 3 15s dual 4s and am currently running maybe 500 rms total. I set gains with a dd1 and everything is set the way it should be. Crossovers have also been properly set for my application. These subs apparently have no cooling capability whatsoever has I can hear the dust cap rattling from too much heat.... I pucking hate these things and don't know why I bought them. Any suggestions on if I am wired at the amp wrong? I am wired at 4 ohms total load right now but I don't know. I have a precision power black ice 1800d and I heard the wiring for this amp is a little different? Any help would be appreciated Sincerely, Mlca…

Hi Everyone, The SPL 12 is complete, and while it came over and above our initial budget plans of ~$160, it also surpassed everything I was expecting an SPL driver to be. A big thanks go out to Loyd, Chad and Aaron for providing the necessary input needed to get this off the ground. As I've stated to others in the past, this is the most aggressive driver to be released by Mach 5, both in output and in cost (the cost to build this is high). I had to incur a fair bit up front for extra tooling in order to get this unit to production, but I think it will be worth the investment in the long run. Now the good news: If you want in on the ground level, I will make it MORE tha…

I want them to be loud but sound good as well, I am also selling my new set of CDT speakers, if anyone wants more info on the set I'm selling let me know. I am basically looking to spend $150-$250, if anyone has any recommendations please let me know. Someone told me to buy these: http://www.woofersetc.com/p2571/MM6--Polk-Audio-65"-Momo-Competition-Component-Set.htm I'm wondering if anyone has used them or has a review on these

For this im going to compare only 18" woofers.. BTL N3 the king of SPL! This is the loudest subwoofer on the market that I'm aware of.. FS 51 - This thing doesn't go low! Shitty sound quality, but hey this thing is so loud, who cares? lol Spl: 95.3dB 1W/1m super efficient 3000w RMS BTL N2 FS 34 Spl: 94.0dB 1W/1m 2000w RMS ZCON FS 32 Spl: 94.9db 1W/1m 2250w RMS MAYHEM FS 33.7 Spl: 94.8dB 1W/1m 2500w RMS Between the BTL N2, ZCON & MAYHEM..Based on the FS I would think these subs all sound about the same, they would all sound good.. they all are about the same efficiency (High Efficiency) so the important number here is the rms power. The Mayhem takes f…

i cant seem to find ANY worth while information on the Rockford 8 and 10" mid bass drivers on their website. no frequency curves, t/s specs, they look like parts express PA speakers to me... does anyone have an opinion on these things? just want to know if i should even consider them I'm shopping for midbass for my doors in a 3 way active setup, I'm considering JL C7 6.5, ZR 8's, hertz 7" mili's or their 10" SPL. (really just in pre planning stages here) my truck is loud, i like my music loud, i want acceptable quality and clarity in music but have no intention of ever going anywhere near iasca...

I have a 06 Toyota corolla and the rear speakers are right next to each other (about 6" apart), killing the stereo effect. I was considering getting 6x9 boxes and setting them on top of the back dash so I can get the separation, but I'm pretty sure putting speakers that large in boxes that small will diminish my sound, mainly the low end, maybe kill it. Right now it has a nice punch, sounds like the drums are in the car. when I'm listening, the front has great separation, of course, but everything from the back seems to come from the center. I need advice.... Boxes? Is there sum kind of separating thing I can put on the rear deck? Just leave it?

I just got my new ssa xcon today in the mail. i hooked it up in a 3.6 cubic foot enclosure tuned to 32hz. It is only its test box until I can afford a proper enclosure. Its getting 1600rms from a hif\onics brutus amp, and this thing sounds great and goes loud, I will post up pictures and videos tomorrow once I fine tune it to the best it can get under the circumstances. I can't wait until I can get a new amp and enclosure this thing will rock. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

I would like suggestions for some 8" mid-bass drivers that can easily keep up with my 15" xcon. I would prefer the cost to stay under $150. And to just let you know, I love mid-bass just as much as deep bass. I mean the mid-bass you can feel in your chest. From the 60-120hz range is what I need these to cover. Thanks

Just a quick question from a newb. I took my old system of out my '98 Cavalier last summer and am just getting around to getting it installed into my 'new' '03 Cavalier this weekend. My system includes a rebuilt 5 channel alphasonik amp, some 4x6 pioneer door speakers (which are currently installed), an older model pioneer deck w/ usb hookup, a single 12" kaption sub, and a set of 6x9 Energy speakers for the rear. When I installed my door speakers, I tried installing the rears at the same time. They fit my old car, but I had them mounted in the trunk above the sub and under their brackets - because even though the speaker size is 6x9, the stupid flare design makes th…
