Subwoofers / Speakers

Going to be running either four 18 fi bl or 15 inch. Was looking into crescendo PWX 6.5 and their super tweeter. but also want to know what some other options are out there. WIll be running in a 4 door tahoe 2004 z71, so standard would be four 6.5s in the doors and two tweeters up on the pillar. any advice as to other companies to research would be appreciated.

JL 12w6v2 started to come apart in the market for new sub. Wil be powered by JL1000/1 in 1.75 ported

well. i was going to get a 12 inch d2, but then i heard about those darn 15's. i dunno what to do. ayone know how a 15 compares to a 12 d2? my only reasoning for going to the 15's would be to get louder, and deeper. box size cant get much bigger than about 2.5 cubes, sealed.

Playing around on the amp with some 12's ported.. What you guys setting at? My amp is a fixed 24db slope.

I seen these speakers, and thought to my self what a way to get your image up and a fuller sound out of your Front stage with a good active set up. http://www.woofersetc.com/p5352/ES02--CDT-...vers-(Pair).htm They are a 2" tweeteresk mid range speaker with a freq range down to 500 hrz up to 20k. For someone wanting a 2 way active setup these might be ideal. get your image up, get your sound stage up and alittle more flexible as far as A pillar placement with out have a crazy install. I just wondered if anyone had heard, used or even seen a set of these used before. I wonder how practical and what kind of sound do they really produce. For somone in my situation where…

alrighty... im building a new system for a friend of mine... he wants to compete in db drag.. its a 2000 eclipse gt v6 pushing around 450-500whp... anyways... ive got to decide which would be louder for the price.... i can get a single Kicker Solo X 12 and push it with the 1200.1... or I can get two L7 15's, which would be more suited for the amp... and both of which would be in vented enclosures tuned to probably low 30's... not sure yet... any suggestions? thanks -AcId-

Well I have 2 Alpine Type R's in 2.2CF @36Hz each seperate enclosures with a Hifonics Brutus 1600 and I am thinking about making a smaller setup with equal or better sound level, what do you think would sound better the Alpine's or a single FI BTL12? would it be as clear? I am planning on tuning it to the same Hz cuz I like that tuning, what do you think would it be as good or better? I plan on upping the power to the Brutus 2600 soon if I go the BTL. Any ideas? Thanks, Oh yeah this is in a crew cab Duramax Chevy truck if it matters. I am still a noob at this stuff, this was my first build with the Alpines.

Will SA-8's perform well in a sealed box for midbass (80hz-250hz)? I honestly have no idea what makes for a good midbass driver vs subwoofer. any input would be appreciated

I am just about set on a Sound Splinter RL-p15 and when i get money i was planning on ordering one.... BUT, a dealer just offered me a brand new Adire brahma for 300 shipped. I have read that the RL-p and Brahma are very comparable subs.... just use different technology. I have never heard either and dont think i would be able to hear either of them. So, I guess i need your guys help in deciding here. Which way should i go??

Posted this on Ca.com but wasn't getting to much helpful attention My right tweeter made an early exit. I replaced it with an Ifinity Reference I had laying around. Needless to say, the whole fronstage stinks. Looking to replace the tweeters with somewhat of an upgrade (if possible). Id say $50-$60 max would be the highest id like to spend on a pair of tweets that would pair well with the existing speakers. Someone mentioned the Blaupunkt Vc100's but I cannot find them anywhere. Ok, im looking to buy some comps for my car The subs stage is a 15" fully loaded BTL and Hifonics 2600 amp The car is a 2000 Hyundai Sonata 6.5" speakers. Im thinking of doing some of the alpine type Rs in the front and keep the rears stock for a while, so what i think. when i had my 2 15" alpine type r subs, i was fine with my stock speakers, is that weird? lol

Looking 2 18's zcon or xcon for an Chevy Avalanche. Will be powering by a mojo 4 with upgrade alt, two kinetic 1400 for now. Looking more for sq right now, in at least 13-14 cubes after displacement (slot port). The zcon's do have a lower a qts, xmax, and bl compared to xcon. But spl is slightly higher on the zcon. Later might try an quasi 6th order. Thanks in advance.

We are looking at purchasing a new pair of subs for my kids Honda.We were set on the Sundowns until I saw the Skars.Are the Sundowns worth the extra money?The current box is 4 cu ft tuned to 35hz.Power is a AP1800.1D at 2 ohms.Please speak from experience.

So last week while driving and listening to music at a moderate level, my left mid goes out all of a sudden. It comes back on then out again about two more times until it completely stops. The tweeter was still playing fine however. Now I'm pretty baffled by this. I checked every connection, from the amp to the crossover and then finally the speaker itself. Nothing was wrong, but I redid the connections at the amp and crossover anyways. Still didn't fix it. I took the speaker out of my door to inspect it and test it on an amp in my bedroom. Nothing is visibly wrong with it, coil is perfectly shiny, cone moves up and down without any problems. Tried testing it in my room…

Just kidding. That's from one of my favorite movies. My Magnum finally lives. Got it all hooked up today. Just in time to get delayed at an airport on my way to Florida. Anywho, now it's on to the next phase. My doors and my front stage. So far it sounds pretty good. I haven't tweeked anything and all I have inside the car is a couple of POS stock speakers. I can feel the bass and see my mirror move more than I can hear it. I guess that is good. Anyway, after all this time I can finally say thanks Nick. It was definitely worth the wait. I have a very nice SQ system already installed, but I'm going to work on the sub section to add more output. Intially, the sub/subs will just be in a standard MDF box in the trunk. I need help choosing a sub/subs for this project...that's where you guys come in. Here are some details so hopefully I can help you help me. - Civic Si 4 dr Sedan - SQ is important, but SPL out of the subs is a hair more important for this project. - Front stage = Hybrid Audio Legatia 3 way set - Front stage amps = DLS A4 and A3 - HU/EQ = Alpine IVA-W200/PXA-H701 - Sub amp = DLS A6 (870w@2ohm, 1200w@1ohm) - Sub has to be 12" - Can either be two 12" in a sealed box or one 12" in either a seal…

ok since i used a jigsaw my circles for my baffle suck balls so i need to find something to seal the holes i have.. i cant use window seal b/c it will hurt the subs.. anyone have a solution for me?

Just got this installed today after i got it in the mail..i didnt realize how big and sexy this thing was. But anyway, i got blown 6x9's and mediocre fusion 6.5 components in the front and i dont want to be wasting this amp. Anybody got suggestions for speakers that would match well with this amp? Somewhere around $250 for components and $150 for rear fill. Ive thought about some lower end focals, type X pro, Infinite perfects, or maybe try the re xxx's. Thx
