I need a box for a Fi BL 12 sub woofer I would rather buy one unless it exceeds around $150. I would like it to be ported but I'm not sure if it will fit in my truck. I have a 2000 ford ranger XLT and I want to keep one back seat so it can't be to big. Any suggestions on pre-made boxes or if it's truly worth it, where can I learn how to build a perftect box for the BL 12.

i've been running my magnums sealed for awhile now i feel it's time for a ported box. SI recommends 1.5 cubes per sub tuned to 32 hz. my question is doesn't anybody have there subs in this type of enclosure and how does it sound? or will it sound better in a different size/tuned box?

I need to build a new box for my SPL 15 due to getting a new vehicle (2005 Jeep Liberty). I'm thinking of going 3 cubic feet NET tuned to 38hz or so with 58 square inches of port area. Will this work out ok or do I need more air space? This will be a daily set up and likely won't be used to compete so I want something that is loud and decent sounding. Power wise I will be using a RF T30001bd @ 4ohm. I was previously using a 4.2 cubic foot box tuned to 32hz and it was quite good sounding but lacking in volume. I figured this time I would tune higher and try a smaller box to save some space.

im looking for a new sub, and just found out about stereo integrity subs. they seem great and i would probably try one out if it can be put into my subbox. the thing is that its just 0.8 cft big. thats without a driver. would it be terrible to put that 12" sub into this box??? btw: its a sealed box, and it would be powered by a phoenix gold ZPA 0.5 (about 1000+ watts)

Alright, my car peaks at 55hz. I want to get a box made before the 7th. Just going to keep it simple. Port in the middle and lots of it. I'll be using the D6 12s still since recones are going to take a min. I'm going to keep the same configuration. Subs back port back. So...... What tuning to go with? 50ish or what? I'm at work so I can link specs for the diamonds. But if someone posts them, I'll be very happy. This will only be for burps and a temp box. If you want to throw a design in there, that's great too ;-) This is for a trunk car incase some of you didn't know lol.

alright, so i finished up my box last night, and got it installed this morning. the box seemed heavier than what i expected, so after i put the sub in, i weighed it. it came in at 64 pounds. not a lot since the sub is like 20 pounds, but that box seemed heavy. on to business now....so far it sounds great. i could not believe how much of a difference the box made. it hits real hard, gets pretty damn loud, and holy chit LOW. it doesnt do any flexing, but when it hits, it moves the whole windshield at the top seam and the same with the back windshield. i can't get my rear view mirror to stay put and it is shaking my headliner. i dont have any rattles other than the bladder …

Hi, is there any difference to building a box with one side being plexi glass? would it change tuning? Is there a special type of glass i need to use? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

this may sound funny but I built a new box today and the program from baec1 say that it is 2.1 after displacement and tuned to about 29 htz when I put the sub on I had a pop sound on heavy bass notes but I can't tell if it is coming from the sub or the port same amp as last box had to turn the gains down in the new box for fear of damage but I never heard this with the old box which was about 2.4 at 33 htz I did notice that I did not screw the port board to the top of the box only the bottom has anyone had this and does it sound like the pop from the sub next box is going to be sealed I am not smart enough for making ported boxes :thud:

Okay so I took some measurements today just to see how much space I have to work with. The idea is to keep my third row seats. That was the main reason why I brought a suburban instead of a tahoe. So far this is what I've came up with. *Note all measurements are external* Height: 23 3/8 inches or 28 1/2 inches if I go up to top of headrest Width: 49 inches Depth: 28 3/4 inches I went to 12volt.com to use their volume calculator and it came out to roughly 15 cft of internal volume space. I want to go ported with the 18's and I want to go both subs and ports facing up as apposed to subs up and ports to the rear. You guys think this is do-able with the measurements I've po…

I have a bit of a delima. I am going to have two 8" subs and planned to put them in my truck, but I now realize I have quite a bit less space than first anticipated. My question is, would it be better to place one sub in more space, or to put both of them into quite a bit less space? The subs are soundsplinter rl-i8's, and I have about .72ft^3 total to work with. That would be about .28ft^3 per driver after displacement. Or I could put just one in about .64ft^3 after displacement. So which would produce more output, one with more space or two with less. I will be pushing it with a memphis amp which gives 1100 rms at 1 ohm.

so i have a box where the port is 30.25 wide and 3.5" tall from the face of the box back but when it bends the gap from the port to the back wall changes to 4.25". this was a build error where i put the second sheet of wood on the face of the main port as opposed to the end grain of the port. how will this effect my boxes tuning and port dynamics?

I just order a pair of Fi ssd 18s and was wondering how big I should go on the box? i've read a few forums where people have said go on the smaller side for less peakyness or go on the bigger side and they bang hard. What do you guys think?

Hey guys, been a looong time. I've always been a noob and now I'm a noob that took a few years off so I'm also rusty, so any help is appreciated haha Currently, I'm in a 2008 Envoy. After having 2 systems stolen in the past, I'm trying to keep it as "stock looking" as possible. I'm going with this subthump box: http://subthump.com/product_info.php?cPath=1_19&products_id=65 Narrowed my sub choice down to the Sundown SD-2. Mounting depth is fine on either so that's not a concern, but volume is. Sundown's site reccomends .5 sealed for the 10 and 1.0 for the 12. This prefab box offers .81 sealed before displacement so it's right between the two. http://www.sundownaudi…

Bought a pair of Polk momo's and a crappy 1200watt Sony amp off Cl (100 bucks for everything), installed them they sound... ok i guess haven't heard a "Good" setup so I don't really know what to expect. Issue i have is the box they came in is terrible, the kid wired the subs directly to the amp and there is a massive hole where the wire terminal SHOULD be (Covered it up with duck tape). The box is rough I kinda wanna upgrade to a new one, i'm not familiar with whats best, some info i found said they do best with .88cu enclosures. I don't have the ability to really build my own, since apartment lifestyle doesn't afford that luxury. Should I try and get a sealed one? o…

Im really considering these subs. I have a 12" Fi/SX hybrid right now and am looking to get 2 10's instead. Im contemplating 2 soundsplinter rli-10's, 2 Fi SSD 10's, or 2 Lv3 10's from DC. What would be the recommended box size ported for 2 of these 10's? I'll be powering it with an ED nine.1 Also what would be the total price for 2 Lv3 10's shipped to 70051?

Alrighty, I got one of my MJ-18Ms back and now I'm looking to make a box for them for the mini-van. The dimensions I have to work with are 45" wide, 48" deep, and 22" tall. I'll be tuning hopefully no higher than 31 or 32 hz. These will be powered by a memphis 4k. I need to get a box designed by tomorrow morning when I will be starting the build. I have only one day to get this box done, so hopefully all goes well. Subs will be facing up, and I'm guessing slot port to the back. Any suggestions at all? I should have 24 cubes before all displacements at that size, but I'll probably shrink it down. It all depends how well things work out. I will have no time tonight to thin…
