  3. I am new to the forum and figured i would start out with a bang. So, i was up late on saturday watching th laker game when i got an itch to get off of my lazy butt and upgrade my wiring so i can install my brutus 1500 and my mag 12. the game finally got over about 1:30am and my girl was asleep. so i am in my garage , 2:30am rolls around and i hear feet shuffling outside my garage door. i stop what i am doing and dont hear anything else. again i hear feet shuffling and this time i hear whispers. i decide to investigate. i put my ear against the door and to my extreme surprise i can hear people talkng about how to best get into MY GARAGE!!!! just then they tried to open th…

since i finally have my head unit , sub , and amp i guess its time to upgrade the door speakers. im going to leave the 6x8's in the rear fill simply because i dont feel like messin with it or see the need to. im wanting to get adapters to fit either 5.25 or 6.5 inch speakers for my front door for a ford pickup. i was wondering wheres the best place to find some to buy or should i try to make some. im decent with making things but have no experience with anything like this. http://www.woofersetc.com/p-6201-ctx65cs-image-dynamics-65-component-speaker-system.aspx was wanting to get these since ive seen so many good reviews

Its very rarely I truly want a specific subwoofer. The spl-15 has done it.. I really like the 12, but wanted bigger. I like the idea of supporting a company that will support you and be willing to help advice like mach-5 does. And at the prices Marks doing the spl-15 for its crazy not to pick one up. It looks to be in the same league with $600-1000 subs. So guys I really want Mark to go ahead with the build.... SO what I'm really trying to say is buy a damn woofer Thanks, Joe

First post here so excuse me if this is a dumb question. I have an RE SEX 12 in a sealed downfiring box with a Hifonics series 7 Zeus bridged at 4 ohms. The setup sounds great and hits all notes effortlessly. This sub started popping after a day or two at high levels though so i adjusted the gains way down. Will a sub with a higher power handling capacity help this or am i doing something wrong?

So im planning on getting 2 12" xcons I have the money to get one right now. I already have a 12" enclosure. I could order one (when they become available) and use it on the current enclosure while I wait a bit til I can get the 2nd one. My question is, will there be any unbalance or noticeable difference when it comes to the break-in period? If I go this way, by the time I get the 2nd one, the first one might be already breaking in and I wouldn't like unbalanced bass. Sorry if this is a really stupid thread, I dont know if such thing is possible or if humans can even hear such a difference. But I rather ask than regret in the future.

I am so siked first of all! A couple people from REO got me to look into the SSA line and I am very impressed I will be getting 2 of the Xcon 18s and I will be powering them with one Audiopipe AP-3001D. That amp needs a ton of power to put up over 2,000 watts so I plan on getting 2 2400 Kinetiks for the back and maybe a red top under my hood. I drive a 2009 Malibu 4 cylinder soo I'm not quite sure if they even make bigger alternators lol. Hopefully 3 solid batteries will do the trick! Any constructive criticism is welcome Ohh yea and for the build I am walling off my trunk. I still need to have people sick in the back at times so I will probably be putting some type of…

  10. Not breaking any new ground here, I know, but looking to get a bit more input before I do some spending. My ultimate goal is to have a great SQ substage. I was curious what the best route would be in terms of an enclosure. Sealed? Ported? Tuning? Size? Sub firing upwards? Port firing rear? SI Suggestions: Sealed 1 to 1.3 ft^3 Ported 2 ft^3 tuned to 32 Hz I'm sure I'll end up staying close to these, but which end of the 'spectrum' would yield the greatest sq potential of an SI Mag D2 12"? Other information that may or may not help: Car - 1999 Subaru Impreza Wagon (sub behind rear seat, ample enclosure space) Amp - USAmps DE1000 (1000wrms+ @1ohm) Deck - Pioneer Premier DEH-…

  11. I want these: http://cdtstore.com/cl_series/cl60.htm Do I have to buy 2 sets? I'm a little confused as to how to purchase this. If I choose quantity of 1, does that mean I just get 1 6.5, tweeter and xover? So would I have to choose a quantity of 2?

Hi guys, Im not quite sure if I put this in the correct section but Im sorry if its not right. Anyways I found I really good deal on a W7 on Craigslist close to my house. I was going to call the guy and make a time to check out the sub. Im pretty dumb when it comes to knowing what signs of abuse are for subs but I was wanting to know in general what are some things I WANT to see as well as some things I DONT want to see (as far as whether I should buy the sub). I mean I know that holes in the subs surround or any cracks are bad but as far as the mechanics of the sub what are some signs of abuse. Hope this makes sense.

I'm buying new speakers for front stage. I'm pretty set on getting alpines to match my power pack. I've been looking into the Type R 6.5" components but I was wondering if it's worth it to spend the extra money to get the Type X. I've heard good and bad about both so I was wondering if you guys had any personal experience with either one of them. Thanks guys

  16. Hey gang, Exhausting all my options on pricing speakers - both subs and components. As the topic states, is it ok to buy speakers from "E store" vendors? They have language that state are "new in box", "never opened" etc.... I'm skeptice when it comes to buying electronics on line but these are speakers,.....but still concerned. What's your take? Any experience? If so, any references? Thanks for the help! E

Hello Now I have two kicker CVX's In a 4 ft box that is 1 foot at the bottom and 6 inches across at he top and is one foot tall. Now how do i find out what it is tuned at ? Also i keey hearing a Small Buzzing like vibration comming from the box. I Think it's the sub it self I just bought these subs and are new. This isnt the driver is it ? i mean i dont think it's coming from the capacitor or the amp that are screw down to the box. But it might be Or Do kicker subs just make this sound ? My CVR's did the same thing but it was the Driver side sub. Now the sound comes from the passanger side. I currently have my gain on my kicker 750.1 set so if you are looking at the su…

Kinda sad to see em go, but now I not only have a father who doesn't complain about them taking up space, but I also have the opportunity to get something else to replace em I think a pair of MAW15's in the wagon would do very nicely, and they'd be a LOT easier to hide

Just checking to see if anyone had any experance with C2 audio's line of subs? I just Purchased a pair of there Threatcon-4 dual 2ohm subs for what I think was cheap ($199 each shipped) and they seem to be well built. But there is limited videos and user info on them. They say they handle 1500 rms and have a 4" coil. They are a brick and morter store in ohio so Hopefully they will hold there own and someone can chim in that has used them. Tried to post t/s parameters but the picture with the white backround doesn't come out readable.

Ok so here is my question. I am reconing my sub. My friend has leftover glue from his recone. He ordered this glue from Fi and it came with a bottle of activator. He gave me this glue for my recone and I need to know if its okay to use with out the activator. i placed a bead of it to dry and it hardened up, Do I really need it to complete my recone process. If not I have a tube of Goop that I want to use for the repair, I was told its okay to use it for the recone. If there is anything else that I can get locally please let me know. I did google to find out any info but couldnt find it. Thanks in advance.

I have been looking for some mid bass speakers and these caught my eye, I'm wondering if anyone out there has used them if so how did you like them? I would be using them in a 3way passive set as the woofer, crosser over points are 500hz and 3.5hz off a R/F P400-2. They are on eBay for what I believe to be a reasonable price. I wonted to post the eBay link but was not sure how. thanks for any and all replies.

I just got my cadence zx651 coaxials today in the mail and just finished installing them a little while ago. They look pretty good imo but it doesnt really matter since they are covered by the stcok grill. I would post a nice review but it really is too soon to say much with certainty. I did get to listen to a bit of an eagles live cd and i will say I was pretty impressed with these speakers considering I paid only $45. They arent amazing but they are a nice (cheap) upgrade from stock. The midbass is decent on these and the highs are pretty good too. They appear to be a tiny bit too harsh for me, but I am sure I can fix this with a little tweaking. I am also very tempted …

Okay, I am a SQ person, so I'm not necessarily hip on loudness. SO, my buddy calls me up today and he wants me to look for something LOUD. Three 12s or Two 15s at least. Will be run by a pair of JL 1000/1s. First off, he gave me a budget of $450 for drivers. I need something that will fit in about 10 cubes, no more. THis is of course net displacement. He care nothing of sound guality. He just wants to get loud. Street beating, no fart cannons please. So I leave it in the hands of you, those who like it cranked. Don't let me down! His previous install was two 12W6v2s and they got pretty loud, but not enough for him.
