Hey Nick, how well do you think the 15 will work IB? And what about power? I'm thinking about 300. My car is already setup to be run IB, so it's merely a matter of building a baffle. Has anyone ever run a Mag IB?

  4. Wassup all. I was thinking about revamping my car audio and one thing I would love to change is the driver in my sub stage. I have limited access to very few mainstream drivers like Kicker and RF. Both of them have some decent stuff but way overpriced and I have noticed most of them are pretty boomy and lack definition. My goal is to be able to tell the different notes apart and have the ability for multiple simultaneous bass lines to be distinguished so you know they are playing. I am looking at the Fi Q15 but am willing to look elsewhere in the 250-350 price range. My current amp is a Memphis MCD-1000. It is rated to put out 1100 watts at 1-ohm ( I know it can but it d…

Ok so lets say I could get a SI MAG 12" for about $350. At the same time, I could be getting a RE SX 15" for $250. I am looking for LSQ and hear they both sound good. How much better SQ would the Mag have? How much better SPL would the SX have? Which is the best bang for the buck?

OK heres the deal I went to quite a few audio shops today to price a box for two ported 15's and the answers that i go wasnt the ones i wanted. The only shop that was willing to do the work and told me they would fit is closing for renovation. so now im looking for some 15's that would work great sealed 15's or some that will work good in a small pored enclosure. Like i said in last thread i dont have an amp yet but im purchasing my whole system Monday. the max for each sub is $400...and yea im stuck on two 15's now even though everyone is going to suggest 12's

OK so here is the hopefully last thread on my truck. I am buying a prefab box. I know no one recommends a pre fab box but there is only one way to fit it under the rear seat in my 2014 F 150 super cab. Unless I decide to take more floor space for more air space its kind of a set design. Id rather not eat more floor space because the back does get used a little bit. Anyways http://www.soundoffaudio.com/2009-2014-ford-f-150-extended-cab/ http://www.supercrewsound.com/09F150ECUTSdual.html Are the two I am looking at. No matter what air space is .80 cube before sub. I was wondering if for the space, I could get a little better smaller subwoofers. Instead of ge…

  12. i still have two new Sundown Audio SA-8v3 subs left over from a previous project. i would like to re-purpose them for my daily driver which is sq focused. can the SA-8 be musical ? if so, how do i accomplish this without switching them out for something different. Sundown website states sealed enclosures are not recommended. local dealer tells me that once you port the SA series, they become more spl oriented subs.

ok i have a pair of these: http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshowdetl.c...tnumber=294-650 and a pair of these: http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshowdetl.c...tNumber=264-422 the B&Cs say 8 ohm nominal, but then it says Re: 5.2 ohms. so that means that theyre actually 5.2 ohms each? and the Seleniums say 8 ohm nominal, but it says Re: 5.9 ohms. im gonna wire 1 B&C and 1 selenium in parallel to ch1, and the 2nd B&C and 2nd selenium in parallel to ch2. at first i was thinking it would make a 4 ohm load per channel, but would it really make a 2.76 ohm load (5.2 ohm and 5.9 ohm) ?

Ok I have the CVX's on a 2400 watt amp..puts out 1700 (RMS) at 1ohm...They are in a pro Sealed Box sprayed with Bed liner (pretty solid) and each chamber has around 2.2 to 2.4 cubic ft give or take!! If i put the Q's in the same box what will be the Differences?? I know the Q's will be more clear and crisp sounding... Which will Hit the LOWS better? Which Will Be LOUDER? Would do a ported Pro box but cant fit one in my Trunk..so Sealed is the only option Here!

  17. I have been in contact with many, many companies over the last few weeks. Companies that sell drivers, customize them, sell just parts, repair shops, you name it. No one has surrounds capable of more than 55mm one way. I keep getting told excess of 30mm Xmax is easy, 10" and 11" spiders not a problem. But surrounds. Surrounds is the issue. So then I emailed many, many, many companies looking for just surrounds. Stone walled. I am willing to pay $600 per 18"... either 4 for my van, or 6, 2 more for my home theater. $3600 for 6 18's. I'll start vague, Xmax as of right now is no longer a requirement, but this has to be reasonable. I can't have 50mm of excursion that is unusa…

Looking for a quality sub right now for my first system and I'm thinking about a single 12 or 15. Listen to rap mostly when I'm driving but i like to mix it up with classic rock and pop/punk about 25% of the time. I've been told 12s in general are more musical, but will a 15 provide adequate response and accuracy, provided the right enclosure? I'm thinking about an Fi Q or SSA Icon or something similar b/c they've both had great reviews on here...total budget for the sytem(including wires, enclure, electrical upgrades if needed) will be in the $1200-1500 range...not looking to spend more than 50% on the substage(amp and sub). Any big differnces in the size of the driv…

I HAVE a set of discontinued Morel Integra Ovation 6 or 6.5" coax (point source) speakers. I had them installed in a vehicle I sold years ago but snatched them out of the car before letting it go. So I have had these put away since ~ '09ish I am virtually positive that there is a built in crossover in the back. There is a small plastic disc that simply peels off the back and I see what appears to be a capacitor or resistor whatever, among other stuff. IS THAT THE XOVER? your input is greatly appreciated and will keep me from pulling my hair out.
