first off I'll just say nice forum.. I've been lurking for a while.. but anyways.. a while ago I bought some used DD DDC6.2 and they didnt come with a manual.. They wouldnt fit in my old car but my new car they should fit no problem but I am a little confused how to hook up the crossover. looking at it there is + IN - (I'm gonna assume that is where I hook the wire from the amp to) the confusing part is how to hook up the outputs 1) W+ 2) 0dB 3) -3dB 4) - just to make it easier Ill say a) woofer + b) woofer - c) tweeter + d) tweeter - the easiest way to explain this will be just to match things up I'm gonna assume 1 goes with a

So i am looking into a clean sounding component set that could keep up with 3 SA 10's Budget is not a huge matter in this as I was looking at the focal krx3. If I don't have to spend that much and keep everything in factory locations then that would be great. Going in a 2013 tundra. Plan on running them off a CT Sounds 125.2

So I havent been on in awhile due to work and my amp being muffed up(my fault I think). I will be sending my amp into Sundown this week and while I am waiting to hear back about it I wanted to look into some component sets and I have found myself asking a couple of questions. Right now I have 2 pair of coaxial speakers, both being 6.5. I want to step it up into the big boy world and get a 2 way set to try out. My questions are will I be able to power them with just the head unit or should I look into getting a 2 channel amp? My head unit is the Alpine CDA-9883. Also I didnt know if I would be even better off keeping one set of coaxial speakers and just get two 6.5 mid bas…

I've been trying to find a set of component speakers with good sound quality and that can get LOUD...if thats possible. I've been looking closely at two sets: -RE Audio XXX 6.5s *Power Handling: 150 Watts RMS *Impedance: 2 Ohms -Pheonix Gold RSD 65cs *Power Handling: 60 watts RMS *Impedance: 4 Ohms Ive seen many threads that promote the PG's but im just wondering if the RE's would be a better buy? The RE's are quite a bit more expensive...but also have a higher wattage. Thanks!

i am in the market to buy a whole new setup for my car. i have no knowledge of any good component systems and i really need to be pointed in the right direction. my car takes 5x7's in the front and 6x9's in the back. in the rear i will be using 6x9's but in the front i want to run something other then a 5x7. maybe a mid driver. i want to stay with a component in the front but can u match components with mids? or r they the same. i have been looking at boston acoustic for the speakers and maybe a sundown 100.4 to power them. maybe an mtx amp. i am willing to spend around 800 for the entire setup. any suggestions on other manufacturers?

Quick question that i should know but i don't. I know crossovers split frequencies to tweeters, and midranges, but do they split the power provided as well? For example, if I have kicker ss components which are rated at 100 watts, and I provide a 100 watts from my amp, are the tweeters seeing 50 watts, and the midranges seeing 50 watts? or does it mean, that there is a constant 100 watts of power being supplied to the tweets/midranges at the same time, making each speakers capabilites 100 watts rms? If they do split power, why do they rate the same exact tweeters which are sold seperatley(not part of a component set) at 200watts peak/100watts rms if they are only feedin…

Looking to upgrade front stage with some new components. I have it narrowed down to two: SA-6.5CS, or Focal 165A1-SG. Have heard nothing but good things about both brands but have no personal experience with either. Any feed back? I know Focal makes an awesome product but is their lower end line as impressive as their expensive stuff? I'm looking for something that will sound good playing a variety of music. Will one be more versitile than the other? Or am I better off just flipping a coin?

Hey guys I used the search feature to do as much research as I could. I would again like to ask the opinion of the masses on a particular subject My question is I was going to purchase the cdt 6.5 inch ef61 pro euro frame components with the upgraded tw 25 tweeter. The rms on these is 140 watts. Just what my amp makes x2 at 14 volts. The problem I have is I was going to spring for the cdt hd 62 high def components but the rms on these is 180 watts. Should I stick with the ef61 and power them perfectly or spring for the high defs and toss a little less power to a better set up? Both will fill the bill for what I need but I am unsure as to what to do. I do want to go with t…

  22. I am looking for some 6.5 inch components, RIght now i have a set of Swiss Audio sak-650's in small sealed boxes and Pioneer Ts-A1702c which are also 6.5 inch but i built small boxes tuned to about 45 for those. I would like something better than this and i would put them in the ported box. I am using these at home so mounting stuff is not a problem. Also for me the pioneers are better. what would you recommend? Also price is kinda of an issue, so the cheaper the better. Thanks

I'm doing a bit of work on my front stage in my 03 mazda and need some ideas on what drivers I should uses for pillars. I built door panels that house rockford P1652-S components running off my old Pioneer GM6000f rms 125watts per side. Sound is crazy clean but I want a bit more. So, I've got plans for building some new pillars that will either house some coaxials or components. I've got a new VIBE DEATHBOXS4-V1 that will rms125watts x 4 channels. idealy, I want to run my P1652-S's and whatever i put in the pillars off the VIBE and my rear speakers (cheap coaxials from princess auto) off the Pioneer. SO: For 125 watts rms, what should I use in pillars? coaxials or compone…
