Whats goin on guys, i'm going to be running 2 15's sealed and I can't make up my mind with all the quality runnin around these days. I am looking into: DC lvl 3 IA Lethal Injection SSA Icon RE SE FI Q I don't know how to read the t/s to see what would act best but I have ~5 cubes gross so I have enough room for them, just no clue what to run subwise. I want loud, and I want a good quality of sound. Oviously ported would be best but I want 2 15's, and i'm not against sealed so that's what i'm going with. Any help is appreciated.

So i recently borrowed some l5's from a friend, but they only have 1 set of voice coils. The magnet has a sticker that says kicker l5 dual 4ohm front says kicker and is square. There is holes on the other side of the basket for more terminals*the gold colored screw things that you put the wire in* looking on the sub there is no spiders or anything for a 2nd coil, any ideas?? thought all of them were dual 4

I was just browsing my gallery and found this old picture. These were first 3 woofers off the line for the "new" ICONs. What a day that was for me, to see our first idea as a company come to life. Just wanted to share this photo with you guys.

Hi all, So a month or so ago I was driving around listening to my system and had a young kid in my backseat and he kicked my amp rcas breaking them half off in the amp. Long story short my mids on my Hertz HSK components blew when I turned it up not realizing this and now sound like crap. I currently don't have the budget to go out and spend $500 on a new set. Problem is I loved these speakers and really don't want to downgrade much if possible so my only real option I see is going active. My System currently: In a 2003 Dodge Dakota Crew cab. Kenwood bt948HD link: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-a1evnpn0JP0/p_113BT948HD/Kenwood-KDC-BT948HD.html 6.5" Hertz HSK components 2x…

Ok, im new to what im about to get into. never really graphed out the response of a sub i was interested in before. I purchased this program "subwoofer design toolbox" by Mark Rumreich. I have been punching in the few parameters this programs requires on just about every sub lately that i could possibly be interested in. Alot give me a weird looking graph that to the best of my knowledge looks bad, real peaky. so I run across an sa12 which is in my budget and just might fit my goals. Im looking for a sub that will basically be as much of a ground pounder as i can with 1 sub. I want it to nail the lows and sound decent enough everywhere else. listen to rap and bass heavy …

Well I made an impulse trade today and decided to trade my Fi BL. I picked up 2 JL Audio W6's for the BL. So far they sound very good and the difference in SQ between the BL and the W6 is not even close. Overall I'm pretty happy with these subs, and I will have more to say about them when I get a box built for them. I will probably send these bad boys to PSI to get them upgraded too

My friend wants to purchase my 1.8 cu ft ported enclosure tuned to 30 hz along with my MTX amplifier that is rated at 400 watts RMS. He also wants to purchase a 12" Re Audio subwoofer. Which sub would you recommend to him if he had the setup I mentioned above? Would he be underpowering the SE while reaching full potential with the SR? He is not really into SQ as I am, but he wants his bass to be loud and extremely low. Which sub would be better off with 400 watts RMS? Thanks

pair of Mach 5 12's in 4.5 cuft, tuned to 33hz... in my car, 05 aveo hatchback. TL sensor was placed on the headrest, vehicle sealed up.. http://img237.imageshack.us/my.php?image=mach5installcb3.jpg we then tried the 2 loudest frequencies and turned the amp up until they stopped getting louder @ 35hz, the Mach 5's did a 138.2 with 1843 watts @ 40hz, the Mach 5's did a 137.3 with 1050 watts video of them @ 40hz http://s2.photobucket.com/albums/y50/vladd...nt=S5000240.flv very loud woofers for the price... one thing I do need to mention... the coils on these drivers dcr pretty low... 2.3 ohm per coil... I'd call it a nominal dual 2 ohm driver myself.. at the very least a …

I have the cdt ef-61fg's by the way so if anyone could help me out on this it would be great cause i only have a small older alpine 40x4 on everything right now and i know my cdt comps can get alot louder and more clean.O and another thing is that i wanna have ALL speakers amped in my car cause i dont wanna bridge the amp or run a 2channel to the fronts and run the 6x9's on HU power so thats why im lookin for the bigger 4channel. OK NOW I HAVE AN OPTION #2 ok so instead of going with bigger 4channel do you guys think i …

well i was bumping a bassmekanic CD with lots of fast beats and high pitch bumps. I bumped it for a good 45 min. I thought i smelled something But it wasnt like a strong smell of something Burning just smelled like a light hint of something I felt my subs and they where Warm But not Blazing Hot. Is it Normal for subs to gain some heat ? Was i abusing my subs ? I mean i did turn it down after I was just upset and started bumping my shit on my ride home.

Well I set off an Audi TT's car alarm with it yesterday. Right now the 8 is fighting through two layers of sound deadened steel to get sound into the cab, but it sounds great. For an 8, it goes incredibly low. The only things it doesn't pick up very well are subsonics, but down to 20 Hz is flat in my car. I'm doing my best to take care of it even though my amp could fry it in a second, but other than worrying about blowing it when I have it turned up the woofer is performing great. SQ-wise, the 8 disappears, which is great. The 8 will be KILLER for a two-way horn setup. That's literally all that would be necessary, a horn and our 8 per side.

I almost hesitate in asking this....... as I realise that this is not really what Mach5 seems to be about (and to be honest neither am I). But....... Has anyone here utilised the smaller IXL series (such as the IXL 10) in a SPL type situation? Competitively? I am currently competing in a series of Sound Quality events which have an attached SPL component (for an overall Champ). Not designed to be top end SPL type comp but something fun for the SQ guys to compete in. Anyway I'm simply after any hints that might be floating around, I know its very install/box dependent (basically I'm in a small hatch so loading is good!) but....... you get the idea. Has anyone actually pull…

I have had a pair of IXL 12's sitting around since last summer. With the DBDrag coming up locally in a couple weeks I felt it was time to get my arse in gear. Heres the Basic design with the exception that I decided not to do a driver flush mount and therefore increased the width of the top port piece from 4.5" to 5. This box is 3.2cubes net. We did an impedance sweep and its exact tuning is 33hz. Two weeks ago I got my pieces cut and asembeled. Sorry I fogot to take pictures of the bare box. Nothing special though. But Heres the finished box......I previously had an eD 15 in a 2.5 cubes @ 27 hz box in my car and it did a 140.6db on 1200rms. After only a few hours pla…

Alright, right now I am in the market for a single 15 inch sub. I have a clean 500w to work with. I was considering three different subs. The Sundown E-15, the SKAR IVX 15, and the Obsidian OA-15. I am looking to get something under $180. So far I have somewhat disregarded the sundown for a couple reasons. One being the skar and obsidian like the lows a wee bit better, and, just out of personal preference, I kinda want the rubber surround (what I have now). I'm leaning more toward the Obsidian... probably because of its longer throw, and larger/stronger magnet. I don't want a DCON... just saying that now. So, for any of these subs, they will end up going in a ported box b…

I am planning on working on my front stage to get ready for my system how does a $1000 budget sound for 4 speakers, 2 tweeters, amp wiring, head unit, and maybe even crossovers I may be able to pull a couple hundred more dollars but if this budget sounds too low then what am I looking at paying. I am hoping on saving money by just buying a good amp at a low price so what kind of amp would be good at about 60 watts x 6 at 4 ohms. I was looking at Boston components but only crutch field carries them and they dont have that great of a selection of them so what other brand is good I don't need attached tweeters I have a place for them on the doors.

I have 2 PWX8 4 ohm and 2 FT1 4 ohm and a Hifonics BRX640.4 which is rated at 4 x 80 RMS @ 4 ohm or 4 x 160 RMS @ 2 ohm. Should I run each speaker to their own channel or should I run one tweeter and one speaker in parallel @ 2 ohm 160 watts?
