  2. I don't normally make these threads but.....(says every guy ever...:D) Anyways, right now I have a 12" DCON getting 350wrms from an Alpine MRX M55 subwoofer amp. The amp will do up to 550wrms @ 2ohm so i'm looking to find a subwoofer that will do well with that power, and would obviously need to be single 2 ohm or dual 4. I absolutely love this sub, but i'm just ready to try something new with more output, and all the affordable- to- me SSA subs that do well with this power aren't in stock yet. I have a 2002 Grand Prix and the current box I have is 2.25cf @ 30hz. I can build a box up to around 3.5cf with the space I have, and I want something that works well por…

Check out these scores Held my 1st official ((((Propper Droppers)))) event this weekend. Sundays event went really well. Look at my results. Taken from my forum: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- :drummer: :earmuffs: I`m very happy with my SPL Testing results Couldn`t stop thinking about it on the way home - big grin on my face. :earmuffs: 1st to hit 150dB+ @ 20Hz in the U.K :earmuffs: I managed to change the speaker wire to 4x runs of 8gauge instead of the two bits of bell wire I was using. I think the tiny bit of extra effort & more wires did good... Mega Heavy Bass - Walled / Extreme Systems. 1: …

Will be doing 2 in my Excursion so cubes arent really that much of an issue. Which one and why or suggestions of others not on this list but currently looking at RE XXX, ZCon, BTL or nightshade. Going to use Crescendo power 5500s havent picked mid bass or highs for up front either but going with a Pioneer double din more than likely. So any and all help appreciated advise me what you would use and why. I listen to a broad array of music rap, rock, country, metal, death metal, techo, trance and even classical sometimes. Im getting into this game a bit late being almost 40 but its something Ive always wanted to do. Again any and all help setting this project up is gre…

Well I made an impulse trade today and decided to trade my Fi BL. I picked up 2 JL Audio W6's for the BL. So far they sound very good and the difference in SQ between the BL and the W6 is not even close. Overall I'm pretty happy with these subs, and I will have more to say about them when I get a box built for them. I will probably send these bad boys to PSI to get them upgraded too

  10. I have always wonder this, exactly what is the difference between these different speaker configurations. I want to know the difference, well the reason behind the following. Two-Way speaker Three-Way speaker Four-Way speaker Would like to know the Purpose, Pros/Cons of said above. Also, would appreciate some shed of light comparing this/these to an active or passive setup. For example, I know some people decide to buy a woofer for midbass/midrange purposes and company it with a tweeter. Ok, that makes sense to me. So in essense, is that what a "Two-Way" speaker is trying to accomplish? Taking that idea, do I apply the same principle for Three-Way and Four way? Where as …

I am planning on working on my front stage to get ready for my system how does a $1000 budget sound for 4 speakers, 2 tweeters, amp wiring, head unit, and maybe even crossovers I may be able to pull a couple hundred more dollars but if this budget sounds too low then what am I looking at paying. I am hoping on saving money by just buying a good amp at a low price so what kind of amp would be good at about 60 watts x 6 at 4 ohms. I was looking at Boston components but only crutch field carries them and they dont have that great of a selection of them so what other brand is good I don't need attached tweeters I have a place for them on the doors.

  15. Hello, I am wondering if anyone would happen to know how big of a box and a great tuning frequency for a Incriminator Audio Judge 15" sub? T/S parameters would also be greatly appreciated. I just need to know the basics really, I can figure out the rest with BassBox Pro 6. So far I just been kinda guessing on what the box size should be. What I have gotten, was 5.5 Cubed tuned to 29Hz.

I'm reconing my XCON. I was going to have The Speaker Exchange do the work, but after they told me $80 an hour for labor and it could take 2 hours I've decided to do it myself. Problem is I didn't order glue from SSA because I wasn't expecting to do the work. Does Lowe's or Home Depot sell a glue that would work? Thanks

  17. I hear that TC produces subs for Eclipse. Assuming this is true, what similarities do TC and SS subs have with eclipse? The motors look somewhat similar. Just curious, thats all. My brother has installed a few eclipse and noticed the similar packaging that my rlp subs were shipped in. Does TC produce any other brand names? btw http://www.tcsounds.com/ is not working

I've had an Fi BL 15" powered by a Sundown sae-1200d in my 08' Scion tc for a few months now. Simply getting tired of having the bass drown out everything else. I know absolutely nothing about component sets or midbass speakers really, im finding this to be more difficult to learn about than subs.. I have never even heard any components or good speakers in person actually so I dont know how to tell whats good and what isnt. Bascialy my main goal is to have the vocals be heard clear and not be drowned out at all, especially when i upgrade to a btl 15" soon. Also i dont know much about tweeters I just dont want them to be so loud that it hurts my ears or anything lol. Spe…

  20. I know I am asking a lot of questions, but if I can get answers then I will buy one of your GCON 15s. Need all answers please, from 1 person or multiple. Can just say 1) yes 2) no... etc. I have read (on these forums and others) that the enclosure is EVERYTHING, so that is the majority of the questions. 1) I am looking to buy a good SQ 15" sub at a decent price. Heard about the GCON 15". Am I correct, that this is a good SQ sub? 2) I want a sealed enclosure for better SQ and space saving. Does the GCON 15" sound good in a sealed enclosure? 3) Enclosure size. What is the optimal ft^3 size for this sub in a sealed enclosure? (internal volume- I will add …

  21. Just when I think I found a sub...people throw new subs in my face. I'm considering the Mag D2, RL-P, and A/D/S 312rs/4. I know they're all great subs. But which would be best for me? This is what I posted in my Newbie Sign IN thread: I listen to metal, rap, hard rock, alternative, trance(mostly progressive), r&b. SQ matters a lot to me...but I'm a basshead and want to be able to feel the bass pounding in my lungs when I want. Whenever I look at a sub I make sure it can hit atleast 20Hz if not 16 Hz. But it looks like I will have to compromise in car audio as those subs usually need a much bigger box than the 2 cu ft that I want to limit my box to. So I would like …

Well I set off an Audi TT's car alarm with it yesterday. Right now the 8 is fighting through two layers of sound deadened steel to get sound into the cab, but it sounds great. For an 8, it goes incredibly low. The only things it doesn't pick up very well are subsonics, but down to 20 Hz is flat in my car. I'm doing my best to take care of it even though my amp could fry it in a second, but other than worrying about blowing it when I have it turned up the woofer is performing great. SQ-wise, the 8 disappears, which is great. The 8 will be KILLER for a two-way horn setup. That's literally all that would be necessary, a horn and our 8 per side.

I just got my 15" icon dual 2 on monday =) So anyway im probably about 75% done building a fiberglass box for it and I may have to invert the sub to get the neccesary air space. When i do that I have to reverse the polarity correct? So for a 1 ohm load at the amp I would run amp + to sub - on voice coil 1 and amp - to sub + on voice coil 2 and then connect the remaining 2 terminals together. Is that correct?

Hello folks my name is David and im glad to be new member here. I have 00 s10 extended cab and currently bad subs now lol three yrs later 2-10" re audio sxx d2 in 3.50cubic ft box shared tuned 35hz with mtx 1501d and upgraded electrical system. well since i was low money wise do you think that the soundqubed hds200 10"s would be louder then what i had? considering amp is rated 1500rms@ 2ohms and subs was rated at 1100rms each but the soundqubed hds210 is 600rms each wouldnt it be just as loud or louder considering i would have enought power to push the subs instead of being 250-300rms short of the subs rating rms. I went ahead before this post ordered two of the sq hds210…
