Well guys (and gals)... Sorry for the not-so-punctual update. But I've been busy...busy marveling at this thing ... First of all I'd like to thank Mike for the amazing opportunity to demo such a great subwoofer. Now, to get things started... WOW. I opened the box, and that is all I said. This thing is massive, especially for a 12. Obviously, with quad stacked mags...and the gigantic motor...but pics do not do it justice. The clearance on this basket is a thing of glory...I mean view you get of the coil and top of the former...an the dual spiders is simply amazing. I just got my Pioneer PRS components running active on a Rockford Power 600-4 amp and Pioneer P800-PRS head deck. So far I'm quite pleased with the results but it's not perfect. On some songs I notice distortion/light bottoming which I traced to come from the 6.5" mids in the doors, and only when I'm really rocking out I've got them crossed over fairly low, at 80Hz because I've got my sub-stage crossed at 63Hz. I like the way this sounds, I could cross the mids higher and solve this problem but then it sounds like a large hole. I don't want to raise the sub crossover point either to fix this, my subs play pretty sloppy IMO near 80Hz plus I don't like what that does to…

I have a very nice SQ system already installed, but I'm going to work on the sub section to add more output. Intially, the sub/subs will just be in a standard MDF box in the trunk. I need help choosing a sub/subs for this project...that's where you guys come in. In light of keeping this from heading down the path of a this vs that thread I will just get right down to it. Currently I have two JL W6v2's sealed powered by a Sundown sax1200d. I originally bought the W6's from my buddy for one hell of a deal (2 subs in a box for $250). just orders 1 15inch dc level and wondering what battery i should get for the engine and the trunk ?

I am thinking about getting a 4ch amp a set of mids and tweets and then running everything active. I'll probably get a next 4ch amp that 80rmsx 4 and then a pair of eD eu650 mids and possibly this lgm tweeter http://www.madisound.com/cgi-bin/in...2.15092&pid=635 The tweeter is supposed to be very similar to one used by jl and diamond on the original hex's that were made in germany. Total cost comes out to under 250 for everything. How do you guys think it would sound? Would everything work fine? Let me know of any recommendations you may have. Thanks. Eric

Hi, I currently have 1 kenwood KFC W3012 with an alpine m500 amp running at 4 Ohms with 300 watts in a custom ported enclosure (my dad and I built it and it's not that good). I bought it about 6 months ago and am not happy with my purchase. It gets moderately loud in the mid-range bass, but when the songs get lower, it gets super quiet and just sounds bad. It gets the job done, but thats about it, so it's time for an upgrade. I have a crown victoria with the police package so it has a HO alt already, and it has plenty of trunk space for a large enclosure. Im looking at getting 2 SAZ-1500D and 1 SAZ-100.2 Thats enuf power for alot of setups. Is it too much for 2 SI mag 15? What is the max a 15 si mag d2 can handle?

Has anyone ever built one thta fits in the well? I need to get 4 cubes out of it somehow an paying for someone to build it doesnt look like its in the budget :-)

I want to upgrade from a JL 12W0 getting 250 watts rms from a Boston GTA1005 in a Dodge Challenger coupe. I would like more trunk space, so any enclosure over 2 cubic feet will not be considered. The GTA1005 will not be replaced, it puts out 250 rms into 4 ohms and 400 rms into 2 ohms. I was considering the following but will certainly entertain other ideas. I am trying to stray my stepfather from going mainstream again and he wants a pair of kicker cvr's which I hear are good subs. But I see that the Maw's are cheaper and heard they sound better any way he is looking to through them in a sealed box as all he really likes is nice rear fill something to give him that nice kick drum in the rear as he listens to a lot of go-go music. midbass(6x9"s too he says) highs and it seems the "highs" are sharing airspace with the subs

So currently I have my six sa-10's wired up to a saz-3500d @ 1.33ohms and I'm hoping to get more out of this setup. I have a second saz-3500d coming tomorrow. I'm thinking I'll bridge the two amps after upgrading my electrical (acouple d3100's). I'm curious if you guys think this approach is sane or if you think the subs are going to smoke from the extra juice. I realize this is most likely one of those near impossible to answer questions that gets asked here all too often. Also, subs are turned to 32hz with 1.3cf each. Thanks.

Ok I know you guys can get WAY too technical (not to mention harsh) for me but I'm going to try this anyway. I am currently running an active 2-way front stage plus two (sealed,downfired) 12" TC-9's in a Chevy Colorado extended cab. See profile. For producing a 10" Mag for the next run of mags..

I just recently found out about these and I currently have DLS UP6i's in my 06 trailblazer. Would there be any advantage getting the AA Carbon's over the UP's? I would like a mid that does play better in the 50hz range. It might be just me or even the install, but I find the UP's to be a bit muddy when played loud. Would it be OK, to just swap the DLS's with the Carbon's? I have the doors deadened fairly well also Overall, my main goal is to have the mid dig a little deeper, and be a little cleaner when the volume is turned up. Thanks for any suggestions.

It seems like I need to build a new box for the BMW cabrio install I fixed. The car currently has a shitty ported box, which fires towards the back in a "tub" formed by a cosmetic fiberglass panel. Port fires to the front, into the ski port. Sub orientation has to stay as it is now, I don't want to build that cosmetic fiberglass panel. The main goal is to have a loud'ish sounding setup when the hardtop is off, trunk open and closed and something that can put up a half-decent score with the hardtop on. I've been in the market for some new boom for a long time now. For the last couple years I had two ten inch L5's doing the duty for me. I'm about to purchase three id 10v3's but it doesn't seem like many people on any boards these days are running ID. I do stupid things with my money, and I want to make sure these are worth the 120/ea or whatever I'm gonna pay. Well, I finished my sono tube, now its on to another more challenging fiberglass build. This time around I'm going with two 10's and I am giving my self a budget of $250 for subs, and $250-300 for an amp. I'm looking for a pair of subs that will give me great spl, with some sq as well. Where do i even start, when considering a subwoofer? i dont want very loud booming base. just enough to round out the sound. to produce lower frequencies and make it sound better. I have the ability to bridge 2 channels on my amp (Pioneer GM-D8604) for 300 RMS at 4 ohms or 250 RMS at 2 ohms. also, isnt this weird? i thought at a lower ohm, it would be able to produce more power? i guess you use whatever ohm the subwoofer is rated at? any difference between subwoofers rated at 2 ohm vs 4 ohm? What about size of woofer? 8 inch, 10, or 12, etc? i believe larger woofer produces more bass, can be louder. but also requires more RMS to power larger woofers. W…
