Hello everyone, I have a question regarding ported enclosures. I currenly have 2 Dcon 12s in a ported enclosure, 1.75 cubes per sub tuned to 33hz. The box was made by a local shop and fits my trunk like a glove. The guy at the shop measured my trunk and that's what fit. The dcons pound for a pair of 12s being powered by only 500 watts. I'd really like to upgrade my output by getting an Icon or Xcon 15, but height size it wouldn't fit which poses my question, how would an up firing subwoofer enclosure sound in a trunk compared to the sub facing the rear? I'm pretty confident an up firing box wound fit my trunk. How would an Xcon sound in 3.75 cubes ported to about 33hz?

Hello friends im in the mood to buy some midbass drivers soon, and would like some opinions, im looking for a 6.5" specifically, and in the future it will be run off of either a Sundown 100.4D or a CDT 4 ch amp, both are around 100-110 rms x4 @ 4 ohms, here are the (2) different midbass drivers im currently looking at http://cgi.ebay.com/2-CDT-Audio-M6-6-5-480-Watt-Max-Mid-Sub-Bass-Drivers-/120608723861?pt=Car_Speakers&hash=item1c14d71395 and>>> http://cgi.ebay.com/CX64-V-2-IMAGE-DYNAMICS-6-5-4-OHM-MID-BASS-SPEAKERS-/120608722859?pt=Car_Speakers&hash=item1c14d70fab Any opinions on the 2 would be much appreciated, BTW they will be going in the lower doors…

I've currently got a Brand X audio BA18. I believe it's from a build house in the states that makes a Moab is it. I'm from the uk by the way. It's currently in a 4.5cuft box tuned to 30Hz with about 60sqin of port area. Although small it does sound nice. Just wondering what you guys would do with it. I can get some T/S specs up in a bit when home. Thanks karl It's being run off a sundown 3500 @ 1ohm.

Hey guys, I want to rebuild my 1803s with 5 or more spiders... be it very loose or very tight spiders to kryptonitewhite-proof them. When I replaced the AP30001D something amazing happened... the van started playing as it was supposed to. Most incredible amzing low end output. Air movement that no one would believe unless they actually sat in it, but if you did, rear-end leakage was destined to occure. My family and I had a blast for 2 days, so many looks of aw and amazement and sometimes fear when suddenly things would be recorded louder and lower. Looks of "is the van going to explode? Are we going to die?" Then, as it just always has to happen, there was a quiet song.…

so i spoke with my dealer today, and to anyone who is not informed of this new information... please enjoy DD will be decreasing production of the "Holy Grail" 95Z. the reason is to make it more rare. They will be discontinuing the 91Z and 9Z series completely "I BELIEVE" they have now opened up an option called "Supercharge". this option you can apply to most motors and will increase the gauss AN UNGODLY AMOUNT! also the option will be available for neo slab subs, "Fi style" DD has launched that they now own the 3rd largest magnetizer in the U.S. which is why i believe the options will be available. looks like the 9500 H is about to become one of the baddest subs... als…

Hey I'm getting a new car as soon as i get paid this month and I'm planning on getting some new stuff for it. I'm wondering about putting the Qs in a sealed box. Has anybody run them like this or maybe heard a sealed set-up? I'm really just wondering if they'll still sound good sealed up. Its also going in a Toyota 4Runner.

I just bought a 4ohm Lethal Injection 12" (just fried my old Polk momo) for my grand prix. As i type i have a sealed 12" box i got from a random auto shop a few years ago, i'm not even sure the cu'ft of the box to be honest. i'm really just looking for something to show off from time to time, for the most I run metal, but every now and then I like to jar the fillings in my teeth. :-) For the VERY brief time being it will be ran by a Sony XMGTR2022 amp that i've had for years. I'm honestly just not sure if I should go with a sealed or vented enclosure. Any advice would be greatly appreciated i've done a lot of searching and reading on the site and i'm just at th…

Ok you guys, decided I would try to put 8" Kicker Comps in each door, along with my cadance mids and titanium super tweets. For full-range sound in doors (lows, mids, and highs) it will be in a new sealed fiberglassed pod mounted to door. Any input?? I've heard someone use them (kicker 8') for their mids, so I thought id try em out. I;ll let you all know how it'll sound.

Also I don't really know about the AudioPipe brand in general, are they decent or cheap stuff? This is to upgrade from my 2 SE 10's currently on a US Amps MD1D...

I just sold my SA-12, and i'm currently looking for a new sub, I have a couple ideas. I want a 12' or a 15', i've been looking at several 15's, and i have about $600 to spend on it, i was powering my SA-12 with a Hifonics BRZ2100.1D. I want my next sub to be able to take that with ease. I've been looking at an Fi: BTL N2, Xcon 15' or 12', IA Death Penalty 12' or 15', or maybe even a warden 12' or 15'. I'm really just looking for a sub that will hit harder than my SA-12, its in the trunk of a hemetically sealed bmw, so it has to be loud in order for the sound to carry to the cabin because 80% of the sound stays inside of the trunk point is, I'm willing and open to all sug…

Hi I have a 2008 BMW 328i Sedan with the standard Hi-Fi stereo system (1" tweets, 4" midranges, 8" midbass) I been looking around E90Post to see what people have been replacing their components with and found that most put Focal, MB Quart, Morel or Earthquake (for the midbass). However, after looking around other places, I saw this brand that calls themselves the best when it comes to SQ? The brand is Hybrid Audio and they have a bunch of trophies from SQ competitions. I want to put the very best as I drive this car a lot and dont want to be worrying about upgrading in the future. This is the "best" they offer = Legatia L841-3 Pro Component Speaker Set Exactly what I need…

Hi, I currently got a killer deal on two 6x8 speakers (it was the speakers or wait to get paid back...) I was wondering if any of you guys know a nice simple tutorial, or just an easy way to install 6x8's in 6x9 slots. Also, I have stock speakers (pretty sure its non jbl with 6 speakers [06 camry v6 LE]) If I were to replace only two of my stock speakers for now, what would be the best way to go, back, front, etc?

I'm thinking about getting another 12" I currently have the Q in a sealed box and love the response and how quick it is to catch everything I throw at it; I have a sax-1200 running it. But I'm looking for something new and a little louder. Is it worth trying it in a ported box before I sell it or should I just jump to the RL-p is this sub any better? I keep hearing good things about it. I listen to a wide range of music depends on what im diggin at the moment. Owned a w7 before and old re se and some other not worth mentioning. So far Q has to be a favorite.

Greetings, This is actually my first thread/post on SSA, so first off I would like to say hello and any information that could be provided would be greatly appreciated. I have been a member of the CA.com forum for several years now, but as I have matured I am getting rather tired of the amount of stupid crap you have to sort through to get the information desired. My plan is to do a typical blow through design in my avalanche as is the norm in this type of vehicle. As a point of reference i will give some of the other equipment I plan on running, and some goals to help with opinions as i hope they start rolling in. I will be running a saz4500d for the substage (possi…

As the topic title reads I need info on ID horns. I have 2 sets of horns. Both sets are full size. I have had minimal results searching for info on these horns. One set came with the install and tuning instructions. What I am looking for is the correct crossover freq. for these sets, power ratings, and the advantages of one set over the other. I did find this link for what I beleive is the V-2 version PDF but the driver in the second set of pictures does not match the driver in the PDF. Any info or input you can provide is appreciated. 1st set-Beleived to be CD1E-V1 2nd set-Paper work that came with it states-CD1E-V.2

These speakers have sewn on leads, and I cannot find out the wire size. I cannot find it on the website, and I have tried to Google it, etc. Does anybody know the wire size? IE: what gauge it is.

Bought a pair of Polk momo's and a crappy 1200watt Sony amp off Cl (100 bucks for everything), installed them they sound... ok i guess haven't heard a "Good" setup so I don't really know what to expect. Issue i have is the box they came in is terrible, the kid wired the subs directly to the amp and there is a massive hole where the wire terminal SHOULD be (Covered it up with duck tape). The box is rough I kinda wanna upgrade to a new one, i'm not familiar with whats best, some info i found said they do best with .88cu enclosures. I don't have the ability to really build my own, since apartment lifestyle doesn't afford that luxury. Should I try and get a sealed one? o…

Hello guys, how's it going? I've been banging with my DCON 12s for a while now and am thinking of stepping up my bass output. I have the DCON's in 1.75 cubes each tuned to 33hz (that's about what I could fit). For what it's worth they have served me pretty well and I've been told my many people they pound. I have them powered by a RF T500. What I'm considering is either 1 Xcon 12 ported or 1 Xcon15 sealed or 2 Sundown SA-12's in an enclosure around the same size I currently have. Either would be powered by a Sundown SAZ-1500D V.2.
