thinking about putting two fifteen inch Bl's or Q's in , but I'm limited for space . I'm working with 17hx40wx28d going to be using 4" flare ports, question is should i keep the box right around 8 cubes or drop the size down a little to around 6 cubes and what should i tune it to 30 or 37 hertz? the car is a 2005 sonata box will be subs back ports back any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Ive been told through another post I need to stick to Atomics enclosure reccommendation to get the most out of my APX 18 the enclosure info says sub and port displacement is already figured in their equation which is APX18-ported 6.0ft3 (40six10”long) ( 32Hz)=5000w (SB) So do I figure 6 cubes as if it was sealed then do the port to fit their req.? and I dont know how to read thier port rec. I see a 10" long port, 6" wide, but whats the 40. or is it 6" in height? Please help so I can get this box built! Or if someone wants to give me an easy out and tell me exact outside measurements (.75 MDF.) I have up to 50" in width, 25" in height and 19" depth. Thanks guys!!!

Hello, My FI neo 4.x 15" will be arriving soon and I'm trying to get some ideas for the enclosure ill be building. I was thinking around 4.5 cubes tuned to 30-32 htz with an 8 inch versa tune aero port. Going to triple baffle the box and have some internal bracing. max dimensions for my GTI are 30x28x28 Still new to car audio so id really appreciate if someone could verify that the enclosure im building would sound good. my sub is the neo 4.7 15" with an extra spider and omega coil, yes i know i should have gone with the 4.9 oh well... thanks

I'm in the final planning for the enclosure I am having built inside the trunk of my Camry for 2 15" Mags. I haven't decided exactly what to do with the ports though so I need some advice. First off, I have 9.3 cubes gross to work with. The base model I am working with is 29hz tuning with 93"port area, 34" length and 7 cubes net for the Mags. But playing around with WinISD I have found a couple other things that work as well. For example, 29hz with 93" port but 7.4 cubes and only 32" port. Or, 30hz with 101" area and 34" length with 7 cubes net. My goal is powerful low-end and of course SQ. I might compete casually with this but I would really like to get good num…

I've been looking at your ""SQL"" subs and noticed that there's not reccomended enclosure specs. Can you post up what you think is best for each size in sealed and ported? And whether ported or sealed is optimal? Also When are the DVC subs going to be out?

I have 2 10" older RE SE with the 12 spoke baskets and will be building 2 sealed boxes for them. Its going in a 300zx twin turbo and so i want one in each corner. (I know one box is easier and better but i need room for t tops etc.) wondering if the enclosure recommendations of .4 compact and .65 optimal for the new ones would be a decent guideline or if anyone knows the recommended specs for these models.

I'm having trouble finding info on this particular sub. I have searched a bunch of forums and tried Googling, also. I'm not real sure weather it is a tc9 or tc7 based sub; and knowing the many variants of those models left me skeptical of considering an appropriate sized enclosure based on another sub. I originally figured this is a TC9 variant, so I've been planning a ballpark figure of 1.5-2 cubes net ported to 28-30hz, using a 4-5" pvc port . I'm looking for a flat response, with as much extension as I could get. I'm mounting mli-65's up front as dedicated midbass drivers; and plan on them mating up with the sub in the 60hz area. The power will come from two bridged …

i am gonna build a box sealed and i have just purchased a used 15" mag off a guy for a good price. i want the volume to be 2.5 cubes and have figured out the size i want to accomidate it in my chrysler 300 trunk. the measuremants will be L 24" H 18" and W 10" which comes to exactly 2.5 cubes and i want to know is the width of 10" enough since it requires a mounting depth of 8 1/8"?

I am considering a different amp combination. Would a DLS A7 with 600 watts in 1 ohm, be enough to run a Gen 2 SI 12"? I only have 1 sub, but am considering running 2 A7's and get a second 12" sub. So how would 1 sub with 1000 watts compare to 2 subs with 600 watts each?

hey guys, i'm really leaning towards getting a 12" D2 for my system right now, but i got a quick question. i'm planning on powering it w/ an avionixx 800.2 (1x800 watts RMS bridged @ 4ohms) in a sealed enclosure ~1.6 cu. ft. will the D2 still sound clean and moderately loud w/ this little bit of power? i'm going for LSQ by the way.

hey all..... i'm considering a pair of pbx 10's to replace my hpo's (they might be sold)... here's what i got... 500wrms@1ohm (memphis pr500d) about 1ft^3 per sub (depending on subs displacement), with a 3" round port 10 3/4" long (individual chambers..so that's the specs for each side..box already built and in use) about 6" worth of mountin depth....(might be a touch more or less...i'd have to remeasure) so will either of these work in my application? thanks ahead of time... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I've been running 2 of the es12dv.2's off of a Memphis mc1000d. I put in "Late Night Tip". Subs went to flexing. Body panels and windows went to flexing. One of the subs went pop, pop, pop, pop, and quit. Never a burnt smell. Upon further inspection (after removing the sub), the cone was separated from the spider. You could see what I think was the voice coil through the vents on the side. It was in pieces with wires hanging around inside it. Does that sound like maybe it played to loud and low and unloaded? Should I turn my sub-sonic filter up a little more? I'll send it off and get it fixed, makes some adjustments and try it again. I dug the flexing of my Xterra. …

This is one HOT woofer! i like the cone cover heres the rear end: upside down: nice shot of the surround: RE8 comparison. If the 700 had the bumped backplate like in the proto pix, it would have easily been beefier than the RE8:

ok im sorry but after reading some threads on here people need to know! all these this sub VS this sub threads are pointless unless your comparing 2 way different subs like a btl an cvr most time its gonna come down to install. i think the saying goes 90% install 10%equipment! honestly almost every sub can be made to do whatever you want if the install and overall setup is right! then people are asking which sub will have better SQ and honestly no one can answer that, 1) everyones opinion will differ on what sounds good 2) what is a good way to compare SQ again every install is different! people need to understand every speaker is just that a speaker theres not one thats …

I've been reading a lot about those new mids/components coming out, ED's big midbass, Adire's Extremis, RE's XXX 6.5, etc. and was wondering what some people thought of them. Me, personally, I can't wait for the XXX, mainly because I'm a big RE fan, and they are supposed to play from like 60 hz to 4-5khz clean! now that is a feat, but we'll just have to see how good they actually are when it gets closer to release time. Also, that XBL ^ 2 4" "full" range speaker, jeebus, that sounds impressive, but as i said above, we'll have to see.

So I have had my Evil 15 for about 2 months give or take and love it! I am powering it with a Sundown SCV3000D in a 4.25cuft enclosure tuned to 32hz. I am thinking of increasing my power with an SCV4000D. Will I notice the difference with the increase in power and is it worth it? I also know that I will need to rebuild and go with something on the smaller side but how big should my box be with the increase in power? Any and all help is appreciated!
