I currently have a 2005 F=150 Lariat super crew. Im finally have enough money to do what i want with it (thank you afghanistan, nah jk afghan sucks). So far i found the right box for my rear seat without removing the jack. Its a fox box and it has about .80 cubic ft. So i started to look around for a sub that can fit its dimensions. I really dont want to buy a shallow mount sub without listening to it first. Im still in afghan and im wanting to get this by the time i get home. The last sub i bought was a 12" FI Q with an elemental designs amp and that combo was amazing. Im hoping to try something just as good if not better. HU: currently have a panasonic one but looking …

I recently decided on CDT ES-07s as my midrange speakers but i was looking for suggestions on a beefy midbass. THe cdts lack much more midbass then my last speakers but the midrange sound is awesome. anyone played with morel or any diy speakers?

Well I have an old body style s10, 3kRMS, and 15.64cubes of volume. Not really sure what to do for the port but I was thinking of a 4"port spanning 44" across the top of the box. or one flared center port being 5x36 and tuning about 32hz... let me know what you guys think

Had to killed the Treo system the installer and me was not seeing eye to eye and I was not going to give away money that I work hard for. Now need help on the new set and the only thing that I have my mind made up on is the and it will be an Alpine 9831 or 9831. There are four subs I thinking about :Soundstream T4 12, Kicker L7 12, Infinity Kappa Perfect 12 DVQ and the Alpine SWX 1242D. Just want to know out of the four which on would be the cleanest and hardest hitting sub? Not sure on the 6.5 and the 6x9 and the amps to run yet will read what youre think.

I have a very nice SQ system already installed, but I'm going to work on the sub section to add more output. Intially, the sub/subs will just be in a standard MDF box in the trunk. I need help choosing a sub/subs for this project...that's where you guys come in. I am no electrical pro, and I've always wondered, is there a huge difference in have a 1 ohm sub and a 2 ohm sub?

Hi, So I just placed a big order for my dream system off of SSA, consisting of 2 15" SSA Icons, a Crescendo BC2000D, XS2700 and stickers, The subs will be going in a Dodge Dakota Quad Cab, I will be removing two seats in the rear and have dimensions of 22" H, 30" W by 34" deep. Ill be getting DC to design me a box, just wondering what tuning I should ask for and where to put port if subs are on the top plane? I want something fairly balanced SQ to SPL but more to SQ side definitely. Love hitting the Lows hard and want to push lots of air. Sorry if I'm beating a dead horse. but I need help narrowing my decision down to one sub. I listen to NO rap, so big SPL isn't that important to me. I listen to alot of rock and metal, so fast, tight bass, ala Mudvayne, Slipknot, Korn, Tool, Seether.... So LSQ is what I want. Anyways, I want a single 12" sub that will probably be in a ported box. Not sure on the size, but hopefully not huge. Maybe around ~2.0 cu. ft. The amp i have is a Kicker ZX1000.1 birthed at 1152WRMS. K, here's my choices.... Looking for some new 6.5 speakers but not component.coaxial I listen to rock & roll most of the time. I just want a good all around quality speakers.

Heres some pictures of my current work in progress. It is a downward firing, (port to the side, might build another one with port up too) for behind the seat in an Ext. Cab 89 S-10. A DD 1008 is going in it powered by my USA-300 and my epicenter if I get around to hooking it up. This box was/is built for taking up a minimal amout of space and because I have this stuff laying around doing nothing. The box is around .8 cubes tuned to 40hz. On with the pictures

Hey I'm trying to find out all I can about these woofers and I'm having little luck. Does anyne know much about these, specifically price for a 12 and box sizes for them?

I am looking for a decent sounding 8. I've done some research and for me its between these 3 brands, mostly because i have found each one at a pretty decent price since im real low on cash and yet want one. A JL audio w0 or w3, Image dynamics ID8 v3 D2, or diamond audio D308D4 8". As far as the Diamond audio goes, i cant find any info as far as testing goes, but it has a 2.5" voice coil and i thought that was pretty cool, now that i say that im looking at the website and cant find specs for the 8 so i really am doubting it has that size voice coils. if i were to get 2 audioque 2200d amps and 2 audioque HDC3 12" subs(an amp per a sub) wired down to 1 ohms could the copper series handle it or would i have to buy the aluminum? this is for daily use! also on the audioque website it says 1000 watts rms 2000 watts peak for those subs. but also on there it says you can hook 1 2200d with one HDC3 sub. the amp puts out 2200 at 1 ohms so how would this not damage or blow the sub?

I already have 4 kinetik 2400s, over 130ft of 1/0 with 6 runs from the front to the back, and a new alt coming soon (currently have a 160a, which is obviously not enough) I cant decide what subs i wanna run! i have roughly 8 cubes to play with, so i was thinking a pair of 15s. maybe btls, or level 5 dcs, or maybe t3 tsns. i dont know! its gonna be for a daily, and i want this thing loud as hell. Hi I would like to find out if there is any big advantages to changing out my daily driver RE Audio SE10 (pre US AMPS takeover) to a SKAR VVX10 or SA-10. I have a current box built with approx 1.25cu tuned to 34hz, and will probally be using the same box. I want to try out a new sub only if it is better. Also running off a US AMPS Merline MD1D @ 1ohm. I've just got this sub and at first was very disappointed with it and the lack of output and low end bass it produces, it is in a sealed box BTW, so I thought ok, it need to wear it in.... so I've now had it running for roughly about 4 or 5 hours in total this week. Well, after much testing and some talking with Scott I've been given the OK to go and do a group buy for Hybrid Audio Legatia L3's. I would like a minimum of 5 buyers. This will go on for a month. The normal price on these is 250$ and Scott is letting these go for 200$ for this group buy. I'm looking to upgrade my 2 10" kicker cvx's with something better. It's a 2.6 cubic foot box tuned to 33hz. They will be powered by a kicker zxs1500.1 amp rated for 1581 watts. I was trying to decide between the gcons or the chaos. Gcons are only $183 each with free shipping and chaos are $220 each with $80 shipping for both. I want it to sound good but be loud. Are the chaos worth the extra money? Or maybe other suggestions?

To make a long story short, since I started installing, I have been playing around with a few idea, and I am going to switch up my front stage. I currently have a set of JL XR5x7 coaxial speakers running off a Rockford 800a2 (Way overkill of an amp for a front stage but it leaves a lot of headroom). My buddy is selling off his set of Adire Kodas and I am thinking that would be a good route to go. The plan is to run the Kodas Passive off the Rockford amp and sound deaden my doors. Ok, so I already have two 12" Alpine Type R's. I am deciding that it is about time to finally upgrade the sound system. These are the three plans I am coming up with: 1) Buy two more Type R's and another amp, and run four twelves. 2) Sell the R's and the amp and buy two more powerful 12's and a new amp. 3) Sell the R's and the amp and buy two 15's and a new amp. This is all in a 1993 Range Rover LWB.

Have a question some of the old-school guys might be able to help out with. A friend of mine has no bass in his 98 Explorer right now. He wants something, but is on a very tight budget. I have had a new pair of old-school 15" MTX ThunderPro 750 watt subs tucked away in my laundry room. The ones with the red rubber surround. Don't ask me how I obtained them. LOL. I offered them up, and of course he accepted. My problem is, even though they are new and still taped up in their original boxes, there was no paperwork/specs with them. Does anyone know anything about these subs? How much box volume do they need? Do they like a sealed or ported enclosure? Etc. Just trying to help…
