Ok guys... here is what will be my spring project!! I have a 2k3 Grand prix GTP... nice size trunk, though i'd like to have as much of it left as possible. Here is what I am thinking: 2 15" Magnum D2's 2 PG Tantrum 1200.1's Sealing off the trunk and facing the speakers and port into the cabin. I will have to customize a way for my whole back seat to fold down, but i'm sure that will be managable. I figure I'll have to build this box inside my trunk to get it to fit. What I'm looking for out of you guys is some pointers. As some of you know, I'm still somewhat of a n00b when it comes to the big stuff.... but I still want it all!! I'd like to compete with this if at al…

While we were testing the new Mag we decided to play around with some old BM 10's. We put eight 10's in an SPL car that had no alternator, 5 batteries, and a single SAZ 3000D. The first burp was in the 154's but we ended up getting it up to a 157.2 without too much trouble. Keep in mind the batteries had no charger on them for most of the test and when a carger was on them it was a little portable (about 12" by 9") charger. Oh yeah, this was all done on a Term Lab meter.

Well a friend of mine bought two Ample Audio ACWD 150 15's, for a price i guess no one would refuse $30, and wants me to build a box for him. The problem is I've searched the internet far and wide, and emailed tech support at ample audio for t/s parameters and enclosure recommendations all to no avail. So I'm hoping some one here on this forum has dealt with the subs before and can help me out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking to build a ported box for a pair of rl-i8s. The maximum trunk space I can give up is 37.5x16.5x8.5. Can I build a ported box this small and would these subwoofer be good for this setup? I am also considering useing 2 or 3 Crystal CMP8s. I am looking mostly for SQ but want those extra low tones a ported box can give. Thanks

Whats up...first wanted to say thanks to everyone on the SSA forums.. Very glad I found it. A lot of good info and members here.... now that I'm done kissing ass lol ..... I need some recommendations.. I recently built an enclosure to replace the old setup in my Eclipse. I built it to fit how I wanted in the hatch, and did not have a pre-planned volume. When I finished this thing, I ended up with: 1.62 cu ft Slot Ported @ 32hz 7.5" max mounting depth. I layed out both 12" and 10" cut out patterns on it, and have a Type R 10" temp mounted in it so I could still play until I chose on a final driver. I'm actually very impressed how the Alpine is playing in this enclosure. …

Considering buying an electronic xover and I've found a nice old school piece that will allow me to set highs/mids/subs but doesn't allow bandpassing the mid. Is that that big of a deal? If so, should I get these to cut it off on the high end? http://www.ebay.com/itm/2FMOD-3500Hz-High-Pass-Tweeter-Electronic-Crossover-USA-/370525230698?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item564506566a#ht_2009wt_1396

I am not going to continue to ask for details on crapcom about them, so I brought it over here. I have a soft spot in my heart for round solo barics of old. I want to know if the CVX's are the round solo's reborn. I understand they are up market from the L5's, Polecat has said they are the choice for sealed over L7s in SQ and output, and I believe at the moment he is building a install with them in his 'burb. So, anyone heard them?

I need clarification on something. I am doing a weird wiring scheme for some tweeters, well I think I might. I have 10 tweeters that have a nominal impedance of 6 ohms. I need confirmation on the load if wired in this fashion. 3-2-2-3 By my calculation this would give me a final load of 3.75, correct? Each set is wired in series, then all 4 sets are wired in paralell.

  11. is it possible to put my 12'' dc lvl 4 in a sealed box? (ran @ 1000w off of an SAZ1500) the site doesn't recommend any specifications for a sealed box. Right now I have it in a 32.5 hz ported box (2 cu ft before displacement). #1 what do you think the frequency range for my 32.5 hz ported box should be? #2, what would the frequency range for said sealed box be? I'd like my bass response to be louder in the higher ranges, so I'd like to see if making a sealed box is a possible option? I used to have 2 12'' (older) kicker cvr's in a sealed box, and their response for rock songs were a lot louder than my single DC's.

I can't speak for the reliability of the AQ sub yet, as I just got one of them in. But I can say that you definitely get your moneys worth with the HDC3 series. I was surprised when there was a box at the door since I haven't even received notification that one of my subs shipped, but man was I happy and amazed when I opened the box. I ordered a pair of HDC310's for a build of mine and figured they would be a nice little subs for a small build. But now I'm considering trying these out in my SUV. This thing is HUGE. I have never liked small subs until now. BL 12 VS AQ HDC310

Which subwoofer would be best for a daily driver? It would be a 15". My choices are as followed: Sundown Zv4 15, Psi Platform 3, X15, or a DC level 4? Im not making this to be a VS thread, i was just asking for some opinions on which would be best for a daily set up?

I have got two '08 L7 12'' coming in tomorrow. I have i built an enclosure that is 4.6 cubes after sub and port displacement, the port is 14.5''H, 4.5''W, and 17 inches deep. i figured the tuning to be about 37-39 Hz is this correct? Did i build a proper sub enclosure for these two? I am pretty sure that i am above the minimum airspace requirement for two of these drivers. i want it to get pretty damn loud but still be musical, i plan on using this for daily as well as a few of the local shows around here this year I dont want to roll up to these shows looking like i havent got a clue(because i dont). Well, I am looking to make myself a home sub to augment my Bowers and Wilkins DM603 S3 towers bottom end. I am looking at the BM 12" and was wondering how well it would work in a home environment, what size enclosure and whether it should be ported or sealed. Also, I just wonder when these will be available for purchase as I assume you approved the new design since its up on your site.

I have a pair of DCON 12's and I blew one of them so looking to get a pair of new woofers. I loved how the DCON's sounded but looking to maximize my amp's power. The subs I am looking at are AQ SDC2.5, Obsidian Audio 12, Sundown SD-2 and they are within my budget of $350. They will be powered by an AQ1200D. I have a enclosure built by DC Creations and it made my DCON slam hard. If you guys have another suggestion I'm all ears.

  23. I've got two 10" kicker L5s in my extended cab ranger right now, running off an SAE-1000D amp and it's not loud enough for me. I prefer something that sounds good, and I don't compete so I need a sub for a daily driver. Trying to stay around $250 per sub, I was looking at the Elemental Designs 16Ov2, SSA Icon, Mach5 IXL or possibly the AA Arsenal. Both the eD and the IXL stand out to me, I've heard some favorable things about them. I aim to buy one now and run it ported off around 1000W RMS, and add a second later when I get another SAE-1000D strapped (1800W). What would you recommend I get and why? I'm ready to buy now, I am selling my current 10s locally to pay for t…

trying to make a decision but wanted some input from the SEAS whores from here to help aid in it. to W18E-001 (E018) 7" magnesium cone woofer or W18EX-001 (E017) 7" magnesium cone woofer, this is the question. building a 3 way front stage and have narrowed it down to these 2. any input to the sound difference would be appreciated, these will be in a door pod and can be sealed off from the other drivers obviously. looking for clarity here as this is being designed as an LSQ system. in advance all comments are appreciated guys and thanks
