I have a 1997 grand am and it came stock with tweeters, the door speakers are 4x6's. Tried a search for it but came up with nothin. How do I go about upgrading them, do I upgrade the speaker and tweeter seperate or what, do they have a factory crossover. Thanks for any help.

I was going to save a bit of cash and order some Exodus Anarchy's, but lo and behold a nice little pair of Faital Pro 6FE200's have fallen into my lap. I'm looking for tweeter suggestions. I will probably be mounting off axis in sails or a pillars. Budget is under $150 for the pair. $150 being absolute maximum.

Well I get back to the house and see a package at the door and I think "sweet! The second Mag came in today!" Well I get up to the door and notice that it is not our specific box (we have all drivers packaged and shipped a certain way in certain boxes). The box is oblonged shaped with scratches, dent, and scuffs all over it. I take it in the house and this is what I see (pics below). Fedex apparently played football in a concrete parking lot with the drivers motor and then threw it in a random box with no packaging. The magnet slugs are off-center big time and there are magnet shards all over it. To boot, the surround has a puncture in it. Looks like the Blazer wil…

I have a few questions about how to obtain the sound I like from the equipment I have: -Avic D3 head unit -PRS 720's speakers running passive off a JL 300/4 -RL-p12 w/ 1.35 cu ft sealed powered by a JBL 1200.1 ...and I have an 06 Silverado ext cab I have been running this set up for about a year now and I enjoy it but I feel like I could get more from it. My complaints: The factory Bose front and rear speakers really filled the truck with sound. Now with the Pioneers (only having front speakers), the truck doesn't sound as full, if that makes sense. I mean that I can hear the music coming straight from the speaker as if it were a direct line to my ear rather than before…

ok first off i have 2 maw 15's in a sealed box.. not the loudest setup but it sounds damn good! anyways i have a few things i have been thinking about trying.. 1) 2 external aero ports (tuned to 30hz)(size? amount?) the box is 5.7 cu ft (inside the wood) not sure o sub displacement.. and option 2) i just use one maw 15 and port it to 30 hz.. which would get the loudest? ok and just today my subs quit playing the beat of the music and had a really faint thump that kept going.. the speakers in my car were still fine. im thinking its something with my rca's.. also b4 this happened my sub would go into what i thought was protect mode. when i woud start my car for the first ti…

Well, I have 2 RE SE 12's on a Us Amps XT4000DEV2, heres the problem my stock speakers can't hold up for shit.......And my max budget on Speakers is 100$ and as for an amp I'm pretty set on the Us Amps XT800.4V2 for the price(50)......So my decision is on what components i should get....Was originally set on some Type R's to match my rears, then SSA has the bravox group buy and all this happening I can't decide i just want to hear my mids and highs over my subs. I well deaden the doors and make a little sealed chamber for better mid. Might go active but I'm not so sure. I also plan on getting an EQ so just need to decide on which things to get. Oh BTW my speaker hole is 6…

Well to start off i have a 95 camry, my previous system was stolen which was a 15'' L5 on a punch 1001bd in a sealed it was loud but not enough so im not that disappointed that its gone but now im looking for something better. I just came back from a few audio shops to get some ideas. i was thinking four sealed 12 but the way the box will have to be will make the two outside subs starve for airspace, so i started looking into some subs that will be alright in a small enclosure...(JL 12w6v2)the guys recommended three 12's or two 15's the subs im looking into are... Two 15's BTL AQ HDC3 L7 Four 12's Cvx 12w6v2 Fi Q The amps will probally be two AQ2200 but im open for sugges…

hey guys. Trying to find a new set-up here (sub set-up) and am looking around at my sub options! Currently I am running an 18" BL in a 5.5ish box @ 35Hz I think. It is pretty dang loud...but I am starting to go away from SPL based to subs that are able to reproduce the sounds a bit better. I have recently acquired a pair of Adire Koda 6.5 components and am hoping to blend things. The BL would pretty much destroy any midbass that would be output with them and I really wanna do a proper(ish..bear with me guys haha) set-up of an actual "sub" crossed over at 60Hz or so and then hear some real midbass. Here were the subs that I was looking between. Currently I have a JBL amp …

I had a 08 Fi Bl18 on apprx 1000 watts 7.5 cubes tuned 32hz and I liked the output. I am wondering considering the Bl is a more spl orriented sub and the Fi q is mor sq oriented how much out put am i going to sacrifice if i went with the q. I have now a Fi BL18 09 model fully loaded on ~1500 watts in the same enclosure. I havent heard this one yet as the amp is pending delivery. the next question is would a Incriminator Audio DP 18 in the same box on ~ 1500 watts. would i get the same or more output than the Bl18 and better sq possibly as good as the Q? the reason I ask all this i have no way to audition any of these subs and, Its kinda expensive to just buy 'em to try 'e…

Hello, I bought a Fi Bl 12 "limited edition" with 4 inch vc. from a guy on **** I finally got the subwoofer today, and immedietly noticed that the basket was damaged. Two arms are broke off, and another 3 are cracked. Im in the process of filing an insurance claim. The seller stated he put insurance on package, Im waiting to hear back from him now. Im guessing I will get money from insurance and send the sub in for repair. Would a normal recone process cover a new basket also?

Right now I have an Icon 15 in 3.5 cubes tuned to 34hz being powered by a JBL GTO 1201.II amp that puts out 1100 watts at 2 ohms and it sounds good. How would a FI BL 15 sound in my current box with my current power? I know they get louder than the Icons but do they sound good? If they have decent to good SQ I might want to swap in favor of more output, that's if my amp and box would even be good for the BL.

Ok As the title states, I have a BL 15 that locked up on me. I thought the coil just burned but after taking it out and looking at the magnet it seems that the top plate and the first magnet in the stack are about 1/8" offset from the rest of the magnet stack. I pulled the cone and coil out and yep the pole and the bottom 2 magnets along with the bottom plate are moved over. Is there suposed to be some kind of epoxy between the magnets to keep them from moving or do they just get held there under screw pressure? I have never reconed a speaker but I would like to fix this one if possible. Can I just loosen the screws and relign the magnets then put the new cone assy in? Th…
