  2. Have a question some of the old-school guys might be able to help out with. A friend of mine has no bass in his 98 Explorer right now. He wants something, but is on a very tight budget. I have had a new pair of old-school 15" MTX ThunderPro 750 watt subs tucked away in my laundry room. The ones with the red rubber surround. Don't ask me how I obtained them. LOL. I offered them up, and of course he accepted. My problem is, even though they are new and still taped up in their original boxes, there was no paperwork/specs with them. Does anyone know anything about these subs? How much box volume do they need? Do they like a sealed or ported enclosure? Etc. Just trying to help…

Hey, First of all let me say that i am new to this forum, and i have been doing as much reading as possible. This Forum is soooooooo helpful, props to whoevers in charge. My first subs that i owned were Rockford Fosgate p2's, i had them running with a Rockford Fosgate amp as well. I made the huge mistake like everyone else, and i decided to go through best buy about 2 years ago to get my subs etc.... Dont get me wrong, they have nice stuff, its decent, but not what im looking for right now. I have a 2004 Extended cab silverado, and i want to put two 12's under the back bench seat ( if possible ). If not, i might have to work with something else. I have heard a lot o…

hi, today i heard some horns because i wanted to see how loud they really are compared to normal speakers and i didn't think they sounded that bad it was just that they lacked midbass so i was wondering would it sound weird to have a horn and a midbass driver for a front stage and have normal speakers in the back( componots [i don't need to know that having rear speaker messes up imaging because i already know plus i already made holes for current speakers in my rear deck cover for the tweeters])

Hello everyone I want to get your opinions on wich to go with. The sub will be in 1.25 sealed powered with 1500 watts. I listen to all music however lean more towards rap. Looking for a loud """SQL""" setup. Is there really that much difference between the two?

Well, I am looking to make myself a home sub to augment my Bowers and Wilkins DM603 S3 towers bottom end. I am looking at the BM 12" and was wondering how well it would work in a home environment, what size enclosure and whether it should be ported or sealed. Also, I just wonder when these will be available for purchase as I assume you approved the new design since its up on your site.

Are there any reviews for the Hybrid Audio products? I was planning on having a set of SEAS Lotus Reference components installed at the end of this month and was wondering how the Hybrid Audio drivers compare. I was planning on running the RW165 mids in kick panels and having the RT27F tweeters molded into my A-pillars. I'm open to the idea of a 3-way system, particularly The Legatia Pro L1 tweeter, L4 mid, and either the L6 or L8 midbass. I'll be honest with you and say that I've demoed the SEAS and I personally thought they were the king of components so I'm wondering how the Hybrid Audio's compare. As far as amplification, I was originally going to run a Sundown S…

Hey guys. Just trying to get some quick help. I have Eminence Alpha 6 4ohm drivers in my front doors. One is buzzy, and I want to replace the pair. I am torn between the Cresendo PDX-6 , or the Incriminator dpx-6. They are running on an Alpine PDX 150/ch. Is there another option I should be looking at? Or are those two options good? Is one preferred over the other? Thanks!

While we were testing the new Mag we decided to play around with some old BM 10's. We put eight 10's in an SPL car that had no alternator, 5 batteries, and a single SAZ 3000D. The first burp was in the 154's but we ended up getting it up to a 157.2 without too much trouble. Keep in mind the batteries had no charger on them for most of the test and when a carger was on them it was a little portable (about 12" by 9") charger. Oh yeah, this was all done on a Term Lab meter.

  20. Hello guys, I am still waiting for my amp kit and my dash kit for the head unit. But I'm thinking about my future install. I' will run a Pioneer x5600bt and 2 IA amps : a 3.4 on my focal KP 165 and a 20.1 on my 15" zcon sub. I'd like to try an active setup this time. Do you think it is worth trying with my current mids and tweeters ? I know I would need a processor to do so. As I don't want to break the bank, I'll look into the mini dsp you all talk about. My installer will build solid baffles for the speakers, and the tweeters will sit next to the mids. There is no stock place for the tweeters. I am planning to buy some products from sounddeadenershowdown.com later…

Here is my dilema. The xcons are asking like 8 cubes each...well 6-10. I can realistically only give them 6 each if that. Should I get 2 18" Xcons with a smaller box for them and only 1500 watts each? Or should I got with 1 18" FI BTL? Full powered around 2500-3000 watts in a 8+ Cubic foot box? I will be running a Audiopipe 30001d which I just ordered. And it will give me 3,000 watts at 2 Ohms Bridged So what would you guys do? One stronger 18" in the perfect box with perfect power. Or 2 xcons with a lesser box a power?

Don't hate the BOSS... gf wanted a small system, I'm building her one lol. Regardless, I can't find much info on the sub besides what's listed on the main site and sonicelectronix. BOSS AUDIO SYSTEMS | ENTERTAIN YOURSELF and Boss CX8 - 8" Subwoofers - Sonic Electronix Sub will be powered by only 70wrms at 4 ohm. so question is: what tuning should I do the enclosure for the sub? anyone have any ideas on port length? also airspace recommendations on an 8? She listens to gaga/la roux and ke$ha a lot. I'm honestly not that experienced doing my own enclosures and would prefer help of the forum over me trying to do it myself haha. just an fyi, I am always open to free enclos…
