Just wanting to find out how much power it takes before the xl starts pulling away from the normal lvl4. Or is the xl louder right from the start?

I just noticed that Alpine improved their woofers and they seem to be much better than before. Alpine electronics With the addition of a pole vent, slimmer mounting depth, and bigger motor. I'm not really a fan of many mainstream manufactors but i'm curious to see how these do. Anyone hear about them yet?

I have a 03 Ford F-150. I have an Alpine hu, and an Audiobahn A460L amp that was powering a 8" RF XLC. Max budget is $200. Shoot me some suggestions....

Well I purchased 2 15" ssa Icons from mark Drove all the way out from cali to arizona to pick them up... Put them in a crappy premade enclosure.. They have like 1.8 cft each if that.... more like 1.5... And lets just say they are amazing.... I can't wait to get them in a ported enclosure... They are in a 2003 pontiac vibe.. I broke my front winshield a piech of glass broke off and was stuck to my rear view mirror so theres a chunk of glass missing now were my rear view mirror is supposed to be... Anyways I'm going to be trading my car for a 64 Impala SS.. I will be most likely purchasing 2 more 15's and taking the back seats out of the impala the interior is shot anyways…

Looking for some new 6.5 speakers but not component.coaxial I listen to rock & roll most of the time. I just want a good all around quality speakers.

So this happened, I'm new this, still learning, but is there any way to fix this or do i just have to completely buy a new 12? What caused this just so i know because i don't want it to happen again.

Alright so I'll give you guys some backround information. I have a 2008 Honda Fit Sport. 180 amp singer alt and xs d5100r under the hood, and 2 xs xp3000's in the hatch. 2 soundqubed 2200s strapped @ 2 ohms (each seeing 1 ohm) pushing 2 hdc315's in a 10 ish cu ft box tuned to 32hz. I don't k now how much port area there is, but it's a lot. These things get low. Sometimes I wish I tuned a little higher, but that's a whole other topic. I haven't played many test tones but on music I've been metered at 153.8 and as high as 149.9 @ 29hz. My mids and high keep up with the bass, but they're missing that "wow" factor. People that don't know anything about car audio will be blown…

Need new sub, blew my 18" treo ssx. Anyone do recones for a decent price? Anyone selling an 18 that does 2500-3k? Budget is $300-400 Im open to other options as well. Im workin with about 4cu ft net ported, 5 sealed. Figured the 18 is the best way to go, but if 2x 15's sealed would fit, cool.

Whats up fellas, I wanted to get some input on what you guys think. I have 4 Sundown audio SD-10's that will be pushed bey a Planet audio BB2400.1. After doing some measurements I dont think I can get optimal box volume for all 4 in a ported box so I was thinking of dropping it to 3 of them in a ported enclosure, that would raise the impedence a bit so I figure about 1500 watts. Or I can run all 4 of them in a sealed box and give them about 2K watts. I am more concerned with the lower frequencys which is why I am thinking of giving up cone area and wattage to be able to tune lower. Do you guys think with the extra cone area and wattage that I could get as much low frequen…

Ok guys... here is what will be my spring project!! I have a 2k3 Grand prix GTP... nice size trunk, though i'd like to have as much of it left as possible. Here is what I am thinking: 2 15" Magnum D2's 2 PG Tantrum 1200.1's Sealing off the trunk and facing the speakers and port into the cabin. I will have to customize a way for my whole back seat to fold down, but i'm sure that will be managable. I figure I'll have to build this box inside my trunk to get it to fit. Hello, i've been looking around on these forums trying to find a decent 5.25 component set. I found a guy that decided about the dreamline and have heard people praise these before as well (people seem to really enjoy rainbow). I will be unable to make my own kicks(no faith in myself), and do not have anyway to have them made by someone else near me (sucks). I realize putting these speakers in kicks are going to be my best option of placement. So therefore i'm going to have to go with q-forms ( i will be putting sound deadening in them, i heard it helps ) and the max they can hold is about a 5.25. So, i've downed to 3 subs, IA Death Penalty 12", SSA Xcon 12" or Fi BL 12". Will be getting 2 subs. The amp that will be powering them will be the Crescendo Audio BC3500D. Max box size is 52x24x17. trying to make a decision but wanted some input from the SEAS whores from here to help aid in it. to W18E-001 (E018) 7" magnesium cone woofer or W18EX-001 (E017) 7" magnesium cone woofer, this is the question. building a 3 way front stage and have narrowed it down to these 2. any input to the sound difference would be appreciated, these will be in a door pod and can be sealed off from the other drivers obviously. looking for clarity here as this is being designed as an LSQ system. in advance all comments are appreciated guys and thanks

From what the coil on db drive wd12 approaches? spiders, cone? What sizes ID, OD, WW at the coil? What recone can approach, if I alter sub in 18inch?

Well I have an old body style s10, 3kRMS, and 15.64cubes of volume. Not really sure what to do for the port but I was thinking of a 4"port spanning 44" across the top of the box. or one flared center port being 5x36 and tuning about 32hz... let me know what you guys think

Ok, so I already have two 12" Alpine Type R's. I am deciding that it is about time to finally upgrade the sound system. These are the three plans I am coming up with: 1) Buy two more Type R's and another amp, and run four twelves. 2) Sell the R's and the amp and buy two more powerful 12's and a new amp. 3) Sell the R's and the amp and buy two 15's and a new amp. This is all in a 1993 Range Rover LWB.

Well, I received my MJ-18 last week and I am excited. I will be using the same size enclosure that Mark used on his Sonotube sub which is 8.8 cu ft. I've used lots of mdf in the past so the main enclosure will be made out of 13ply oak plywood with mdf bracing. I'm hoping to get started this weekend on the enclosure. By the way, how do I post pics? I don't see an attachment manager.

I was wondering if the spl subwoofer line by mach 5 is strickly for spl because I would like to use one in a daily setup. If you have one or heard one, what do they sound like? For example, could you compare them to say a Type R? I already know Mark's opinion, but I would like a few others
