  4. I am looking at either 6 06'RE Audio XXX 18's, 6 Soundstream XXX-18's, or building my own subs from scratch. What I must have: More than my current 30mm Xmax, 40mm Xmech, more than 11 for a Bl ( my subs are custom dual 4 ohm so I believe 8 layer and a touch more Bl than the single 4....as per website for s2 and s4... " Bl: 8.43 N/A | 11.8 N/A" ) A standard 3.5" p-p 1/2 roll surround will not gain any excursion. I am NOT looking to gain any output from gain in Bl and/or efficiency! So BTL/BL/Q... SMD/HAVOC/Mayhem... Maelstrom-X.. all will be ignored. I can get the Soundstream XXX's refurbed for 1/2 the cost of authorized internet RE Audio new. I may order coils, plates, …

hi all! im a college student that is sick of not being able to purchase high end audio equipment but loves music. So i did a little research and stumbled upon the mj18. I've decided to do my first DIY sealed subwoofer using a single mj18 and buttkicker amp. I do know that they recommend 2.8 cu ft for a sealed mj18, but It looks as if alot of people are using larger boxes. Since im new to this, im uncertain as to why many of you have deviated from the "recommended" size. I would greatly appreciate if you guys could give me some tips, recommndations, and possibly some box dimensions on building my first sub without using a eq. I will most likely be using 3/4 mdf or plywood.…

Ok so i have a JL Audio 12w6v2 and a Xterminator 1600.4 amp. My amp handles only up to 4ohms bridged but the sub goes 8 or 2. At 8 it sounds like the amp is pushing out all it can so i think it doesn't sound good, at 2ohms it sounds good but i cant turn it up becuase protection comes on. Is there any way to get the sub up to 4ohms by adding some kind of resistor? Has anybody done this before, if there is no cure i guess i can run my Alpine MRP-M450 which is 2ohms stable but i was trying to see if i could just use one amp. I'm new by the way lol Thanks,

  10. First off is how i feel right now. I haven't been this happy in quite awhile (been bassless for nearly...well....its been awhile. i blew up my temp sub on loan from a friend) so...i am working with this. 1994 maxima as in the sig with a memphis 16-MC1000d. my car right now has NO sound dampening products installed as of right now because i wanted to do a before and after test. ive got 30 sq ft of damplifier and a bucket of spectrum waiting to be installed along with 40 sq ft of overkill and some rattlepad. i had a 15 from the first run of drivers installed in my car before i received my new mag. i loved my first driver, but unfortunately had some issues with my setup an…

Ok I have an 06 Scion xB. Not much room in the back for a box. I currently have a Sundown Audio Nightshade v1 and a Sundown Audio 1500v1. I would like to change systems and hopefully get a little louder. I will be going with top of line equipment. IE Digital Designs, Sundown, or PSI. What is everyone's opinion on what I should go with?

After installing the FI BL FL with a 1500zx, it has shown its power. My friend is looking to develop a system with Rockford Fostgate in mind. The T1500 or the T1000, I was looking for 2 SUbs 13"+ that would hit hard at 1 ohm, or if it is not stable at 1 ohm, something thats stable at 2 ohms. Also, could the Rockford Fostgate amps power 2 subwoofers but still give the rated power of wattage to each Subs? He dosent want to spend more then $1100 on the amp and subwoofer and installation. Amp Prices are: T1500 = $430 T1000 = $360 Installation being around $150 Leaving $520 To play with for the 2 Subwoofers. Thanks

Now, for a little explaining. We're going to have our logo at the top across the back (where your sholderblades are), which is what "SI" is in the poll above. The first option listed above is to put the text "Subwoofers" under our logo and then start the phrase below that. The second option is just for our logo and then the phrase under that. The phrase that we've decided on will take up the back of the shirt, it's not just going to be a little line on the back. So anyway, put "Subwoofers" under our logo or no? I'm voting no, but the VP votes yes, so the rest is up to you guys.

well after a 3 year hiatus of not having a SI Mag i'm back. i had an original claw basket 12. i just acquired a 15" new gen Mag and its going in a roadmaster wagon (huge space). and will power it with the mono side of a memphis big belle (1100w RMS) *****EDIT***** i wanted some expert opinion on the box plans i came up with....4.0 ft^3 @ 30hz total internal vol - 5.66 ft^3 (46.5"w x 12"h x 17.53"d) port area - 54 in^2 (18" x 3") port length - 37.31 in driver vol - .2 ft^3 .....what i don't know how to do is figure the port wall lengths. the sub will be firing up with the port up too. any help or advice is greatly appreciated. i'm stoked to be back with SI.

Ok life's been hectic. Accepted a job offer starting out almost five bucks more an hr than I make now.. after 3 years. The audio has been on hold. Looking for a tahoe or gmc yukon. Just want opinions. Either going to order my second dc level 6 18.. or just order a pair of ssa evil 18s. For the price of one sub is close to just ordering the evils. And I know y'all are biased. But that's ok. I the level 6 is a skull cracker.. But not very musical. I don't want something just for burps lol

I was looking at the specs of both subs and they appear similar. I was wondering if these subs are in the same ballpark in terms of goals and design. This is for a daily groundpounder on 1500 watts in a ported box(1.2 cubes) tuned to 33hz and LP at 80hz with subsonic at 30hz/24db. Wondering what the pros and cons are and peoples opinions on which sub is louder and which is cleaner unless either sub is just better in both aspects for this type of set-up. Your opinions are highly valued and appriciated even from those who have no direct experience with both to compare. I listen to mainly house and trance music. Thanks
