Is it just me or does anyone else notice that there is a bunch of people out there that are now using Memphis subs? And it is the MOJO subs too, not the LVS sub. I mean we all knew the LVS was a gimmick more than anything, but still I know of 2 people who are sponsored by Memphis and even they are using the Mojo subs (and Mojo amps also for that matter)

  2. just got Rockford Fosgate P1-1X12 its a ported enclosure made by the manufacturer, so i assume its decent enough of a port design for the subwoofer. i know ported makes it so its more difficult to hit fast notes. but i feel it really muddles the notes together and very little separation on fast bass notes. any way to improve this? i believe the gain is set to around 75% and the low pass filter is around 100 hz. the subwoofer is rated at 250 RMS. my amp is bridged and is rated at 300 RMS for the bridge. and the subwoofer is rated at 25-250 hz. would it be better to raise the hz on the low pass filter to around 150 or 200? or should 100 be fine? …

My dad is looking for a good sub for the boat. It will be in a cutout in the inner hull in the cabin area, so it will need to perform well in IB. I'm not too sure of the amount of moisture it will be exposed to, and I'm not sure if any of the actual marine subs will perform in IB. Any suggestions?

  5. When I was planing out my current system, I almost (like had them in the cart and didn't buy) some planar transducers and glassed them up on the A pillars or in the kicks of my Yukon. I decided against them based on some things I read about the diaphragm being so fragile. I read claims about air and heat damaging the diaphragm so I decided against that. I did have a set of Infinity towers way back that had a EMIT ribbon and I really enjoyed the sound. Unfortunately me being young and not having enough power on tap, I blew the EMIT's a couple of times and finally sold them for something that would get louder on my power. Wish I had those back now that I could take better…

looking at zaphaudio.com, this SB Acoustic speaker is the best bang for the buck around $50 a piece. But I've seen a lot of people mention this Peerless speaker as well. The only negative I can find is the SB speaker is 8 ohms so I'd have to find a slightly larger amp to give them their full 60w @ 8 ohms compared to the peerless which need 50W @ 4 ohms. Not necessarily a negative I know...I just read up on why higher impedance is not bad. No place around here has these speakers so I can't really listen to them and determine for myself which I like better. Anyone have any input on these two? If I buy a set, they'll be installed in my front doors running off a 4 channel…

Hey guys. I have no experience with either sub and I would like some feedback from those who actually have had personal experience with both subs instead of just guessing from specs. Which will be louder on 1400 watts rms amp? This will be a sealed box of 2 cubes with 2 lbs of polyfil. Usable frequency 30hz/24db - 80hz/24db. Personally when I look at the specs I am guessing the performance might be on par with the Xcon being a tad louder, but Fi is around 32 lbs and Xcon is around 47 lbs, so in terms of weight Fi is a better option, but is the extra weight of Xcon worth it if it is in fact that much louder? This is for a daily driver. Thanks

I'm getting a new Fit Sport and considering that its the premium sound i was just going to upgrade by intergrating a sub into it, problem is, i am picky. I dont want overpowering bass but i want to feel it, and it has to be clear. It will be a single sub setup of whatever size, since i have plenty of room *grand total of 41 cubes in the car* Have at this, i want to do it right on the first try this time.....

Ok I know you guys can get WAY too technical (not to mention harsh) for me but I'm going to try this anyway. I am currently running an active 2-way front stage plus two (sealed, downfired) 12" TC-9's in a Chevy Colorado extended cab. See profile. Although I am pleased with this setup I'm still lacking that "something" that makes it near perfect to my taste. In my mind I'm looking for SQ but I have seen too many people beaten down for using that term because we do not know what SQ is, let alone how to achieve it. I can not...nor will I...argue with that. I am 46 so I'm not going to play the 16 year old that knows more than everybody here and refuse to listen to advice. Wit…

  17. I own a scion tc and specs are- fronts are 6.5" 2way components rears are 5.25" co-axials. Since i am adding 3Kw worth of bass, i need high powered speaker replacements. I'm not a total audiophile, I just like it loud and clear. Anyways, i have been looking at these - JBL C608Gti MK II Why? because they are the loudest 6.5" 2way i can find without retailing over $1,000. Now, here is the question - if i power these with about 200w per side, for me sitting up front, would i not hear the rear speakers higher frequency range giving them 100w per speaker? I'm wondering if i am just suppose to replace the rear speakers with just 5.25" woofers only, no co-axial.

like the topic says, i'm looking to do a budget build. I already have an old 500/1 amp. I'm looking to pick up a used 10w3v3 on ebay for like $110. I want to build a 2.0cf box with a 4" port tuned to 32hz. Question is: is the 2cf box and 4" port too big? or am I still within the realms of "should be ok". I'll be giving it 500 watts. What it's rated at. thanks. PS: If anyone can name me a better sub for around $120 new or used, I'm still willing to listen.

  20. Hey everyone I signed up here awhile back, but have only been able to lurk here and there. Anyway I'm gonna pull the trigger soon and get a sub stage, but I'm not sure which sub/subs I want to buy. My new sub stage will pretty much be 2 12's in a ported box or maybe one 15 in a ported box depending on how much room I have or don't have.. I've looked through the 12'' subs in the store section from all the brands and a couple of 15's but leaning more towards 12's. My goal for the sub stage is pretty much output/loudness. I need some help/recommendations from you guys please and I'll provide more info if you guys need to know anything else. Sidenote: Car is a 2011 Ford F…
