Subwoofers / Speakers

i am building a setup for listening only, no competitions or anything, running (2) sa-8 dvc 4's, i was originally thinking of a sundown 1000d, which i felt was enough, but everyone i see with sa-8's is running either a 1200d or 1500d, is it safe to run these larger amps for daily abuse on the subs or is the 1000d going to be enough, thanks for your advice

So I have pretty much decided that I am going to choose 1 of 2 things.. I have 4 Memphis Mojo 15s right now and I am either going to a) do a third row wall or b) buy two DD9518g's The reason for the third row wall is because I don't have enough space for my batteries and amps with a traditional box right now because my truck isn't that big. What do you guys think? Keep the 4 or sell them off and go with 2 18s?

just out of curiosity, how would you say the magnum d2 stacks/sounds compared to a 12 inch idmax V.3 D2

Hello, Can you guys give me some suggestions on some subs that might work for me. I am looking at putting a Zed audio Deuce or possibly a couple of Miniliths into a Civic 4 door and use something other than the Rockford DVCs we have. I am thinking an Icon or Soundsplinter 10 or 12. I have about 2.5cubic feet to work with so that will limit what I do as well. I am comfortable doing slot ported and sealed boxes. I have a second battery and everything done I am just thinking about changing around the sub dept. for something that is more for sound quality but can get loud as well. Hi everyone, i started to describe my plans in the noob section but i figured i would bring it over here so it would get some more attention and i could begin ordering some parts. The car is an '07 G35 coupe, and i am looking for a system that can get reasonably loud, sound good soing it, and add the least amount of weight as i don't wanna kill the weight distribution on the car. I was originally looking at the FI Q's but i decided that i wanna go with the Icons instead. There were a few different plans i had as far as enclosures, but i think that having them in a conventional style mdf box close to the rear seat would be best since there would be less weight hanging past…

I am getting back into audio after a long layoff. I wanted to know what you guys thought would be the best speaker setup for mid and highs. I am planing on buying the new Zed Audio 6ch 150w a ch when it's released. I have been thinking of such brands as morel, focal, dbl, and polk. Price does matter would like to keep it under 1000. just wanted to say hi, i just put my order in yesterday for my 15" mag and i cant wait. the mag will be going in my 04 scion xb, not sure what amp im going to run yet maybe a modded bd1500 or an re 12.1. i was previously running 3 crystal 8's with a power bd500 hitting mid 140's and am hoping to do a little better with this 15.

So tonight I installed some under-the-dash neons for a friend of mine who will be getting a Mag 12 with two of Sundown Audio's amplifiers and Boston comp's up front. Just wanted to get an opinion on the best SQ 8's 10's or 12's. I have limited experience with anything above the 200 dollar a sub range. For the sake of arguement lets use a small enclosure 1.5 cubes or less. With 1kw or less

Hey guys it's my first post here. I'm trying to "upgrade" from 2 IDQ 12 v3's in a sealed box. Basically I'm changing my setup to 1 12 instead of 2 because I can't fit a ported box for 2 12's in my trunk and the output of them sealed isn't cutting it for me so trying to find a single sub solution. The sub would be powered off a SAX-1200D and my budget is whatever I can sell the 2 IDQ's for hopefully in the $300-400 range. I pretty much narrowed it down to the SSA ICON and the Fi Q. Any comments on which sub will get louder off 1200 watts, dig deeper, and take a daily beating. Any other suggestions would be appreciated

Which is better for 2 12" 9500s? A hifonic brutus 2000 or 2600? how many watts should i put to em?

hey, posting this up for future reference for people that might need the info i have an old 12" claw basket mag and the surround is torn on it. i am wondering: 1- is it possible to get a recone on it? or do you guys only do the new subs 2- if it is possible, is it possible to keep the same look of the old mag? or would it look like the new ones after the recone? 3 -and how much would a recone cost thanks

i decided to put this in the right forum section this time. my question is which sub would be better suited for me. ive got a gmc sonoma ext. cab and im wanting 2 15's ported but i want something thats gonna be loud but sound good doing it. any help is appreciated

alright. i have totalled up tha cost of four RF p3 15's and a SAZ-3000D and it is in the are of $1700-$2000. i want to knwo of course, if this setup gonna be any good? it will be in a honda crv tuned to about 26Hz and running @ .5ohm and i will set it to about 900-1000w a woofer. will this win me anything but a consolation prize? or will i b reigning champ? i only have enuf for the box for the 15's and the components. none for dynamat or stuff. dont want to do anything permanet to the car bcuz it aint mine, my friend is considering lettin me use his. thanks for any feedback.

I never got aroudn to showing anyone these yet b/c I've been crazy busy with work ect. Anyway here's a lil eye candy for everyone I'll be making a few vids soon along with a formal review for the Magnum's. And for anyone who doesnt know my box is roughly 11 cubes total 3.5 per sub tuned to 28hz . Amp is at 2ohm until a new Alt gets into the truck. So I'm about to build my second sub, but I'm stuck on which dustcap to use. I originally ordered the Carbon Fiber dustcap, but ended up getting the Poly dustcap as a freebie with an order I made. After placing it on the cone just to see what it looks like, I'm starting to wonder if the Poly dustcap actually looks better? What do you guys think? Go with the Carbon Fiber dustcap, or the Poly dustcap?

so i traded my pair of treo te 15's dual4ohms that i have beatin within an inch of there lives for a 2 week old fosgate t2 12 dual 2ohm that aint even broke in . but i got just the sub cause he didnt wanna come off his enclosure he paid $400 for so i gotta build an enclosure. so did i make an ok trade? this beast weighs as much as both 15's did in the box

If was to get a box THE have 2 cu ft. per chamber...its only .2 below the reccommend box size sealed for the maw15...it wouldnt make that much of a difference correct? edit... umm how much polyfill? since the box is under the reccomended size?

Well i finally got my gcon 15 put in on saturday and for some reason all the owner of the store wanted to do is play songs as loud as he could. When talking to my friend i over heard him say thats the loudest F350 I have ever heard and probably ever will hear. I was held up at the store for a good 20 minutes after they had the sub installed and i didnt have to pay anything for the install. Thanks Mark and Arron for all the help SSA for life.

I've got a question regarding my XCON, it looks like the glue is separating from the cone and the surround on the underside of the sub. I was wondering how to go about repairing this issue. Thanks in advance.

A built a new box, very nice. Hopefully you guys like it. Its around 5.5 cubic feet, 78" of port and is tuned to 34 hertz. Paint job is thanks to my lovely girlfriend Maria. Tell me what you think!

Will this be heard from far away? I'd be running it at about 1200 watts rms and the box is the custom designed by Fi for the BL 15". Will be placed in sedan
