Hi, I'm new to this forum, and fairly new to car audio. I happened upon this site a few days ago and saw the MAW-15's, and have read some reviews on them. I'm pretty sure I want to buy them, but I would like some input on them, first. I've been thinking about buying an IDQ15 for awhile. But, if I can pick up a sub for 1/3 of the price that sounds as good(or damn near close to it), then it's a no-brainer. I'm willing to go up to $300 for a sub. That doesn't mean, though, that I necessarily want to spend that much. I'm figuring on 500-600 wrms, and I don't want to go over 2.5 cu. ft. For the most part I'm looking for SQ. I just purchased a pair of SEAS tweets and was wondering if I wrapped them with grill cloth over the metal mesh grill if this would affect the sound.

Does anybody know if the generic grills they sell at Parts Express will work for the 302's? If not, do you have any suggestions on grills for these?

Ok, i've been wanting to build a ground pounder for awile now and i'm getting everything worked out before i start. I've gotten some help on box size and tuning (thank you mark) and now i need to figure out my box placement. Looks like the subs will be 4 mj-18's run off a power acoustik a3000db in an 18-20 cube box (depends on if i can fit 20) tuned between 30-35hz. Now i can build the box from behind the front seats back to the tailgate and fire the subs up, or i could build it from the tailgate to where the rear seat is at(it's gonna be out or folded) and fire the subs forward. Well, after much testing and some talking with Scott I've been given the OK to go and do a group buy for Hybrid Audio Legatia L3's. I would like a minimum of 5 buyers. This will go on for a month. The normal price on these is 250$ and Scott is letting these go for 200$ for this group buy. I got 2 18" Level 4 XL's. I was in reno staying at the silver legacy having fun lol and I placed an order with rusty not only did he making them quickly for me he also went out of his way and delivered them to my hotel which was hella cool since I dont know reno to well. He also played his system for me which was crazy loud and sounded incredibly clean. DC subs FTW.. These are some sick ass subs I cant wait to install them.

Newbie post here....Just thought I'd be a whore and show my Magnum pride...first post for the SI Forum...MUAHAHAHAH!!!

So I've seen a ton of videos featuring hair tricks and I figured it'd be cool to see if my system can pull it off..Only problem is that I'm clueless how to go about it. Obviously someone with long hair is needed. I'm not sure what song would be best, or what window for that matter... Any tips for me? Is it pretty much just trial and error? Any reason my system wouldn't be able to hair trick? Does hairspray\hairgel have a negative impact on it?

4 LV518s and 1 hifonics amp, did a 159.6, not to bad. the loudest its been befor with just the 1 amp in there with other woofers ive tryed is 158.6 so +1 db =]

i set my amp to give my sub 1000w but the amp is 1200w do you guys think it can take 1200w in a sealed 2.6ft box without any problems?

i need your guys help with this. i am looking at buying a new sub(s). right now the sub i have in mind are either 2 10" shocker 3's or 1 15" nightshade. either setup will be in proper box with enough power. im just need to know which would be louder. also the box will be tuned to 35hz. goin in a 01 monte carlo with proper electrical.

I am putting together a system, and i hear the pro's and con's of each box. My questions is a two part question, the first one is: seeing that a sealed box is more for sq, and covers a wide wavelengths, and the vented box is louder but does not do well in many of the wavelengths or you might call it hz. why not do one side sealed and one side vented 12"S ? is there a reason why it would not blend like a two way sub box? and if it is posiable would two mono amps be better then one amp the yields the same wattage?

yes guys, has anyone tried the RE SX 12" in 1.75ft^3 tuned at 33-34Hz? how will it sound on the lows, and the SPL? how you compare it against it in a 2.0ft^3 box tuned at 35hz will the 2.0ft^3 @35Hz play lower and louder than it in the 1.75ft^3 @ 33-34Hz Box, even that the smaller box is tuned lower? On RE sites they recommend 1.5ft^3 @35Hz and 2.0ft^3 @ 33Hz why is this? isn't the bigger box better for the lows, so why tune it so low? Isn't it better to tune the 1.5ft^3 @ 33Hz to get the lows of it compare it at 35Hz and the 2.0ft^3 @ 35Hz compare it at 33Hz? this part I don't understand, I've always thought that a bigger box is better for the lows and the smaller box b…

Anybody heard them? I've read on ca that they are top notch comps... Wanted to know what you guys think about them, one dude kept stressing that they were made in china and overpriced compared to other brands. Thoughts?
