I found a deal on a 12" TREO SSX and to be honest the best system I've ever heard was a TREO sub, which model I'm not sure. I was looking at 2 AA Avalanche 15's (old model) and I know that would pound and sound amazing, only problem is they are both dual 2 ohm and not only that the box would be much bigger. With the SSX recommending 2.25 cu ft tuned to 31.8hz would it do well playing low? Obviously it wouldnt be 2 AA avalanche 15's but what kind of performance could I expect from a 12 of this caliber? I'm gettin excited here Can't wait till I finally decide on something.

why does my xcon sound like crap? i put it in a 1.5 cubic foot sealed subwoofer box with polyfil running it off a crescendo BC2k amp, subsonic on like 30 hertz and low pass on around 60-70hz it doesnt sound like its hitting the notes right at all sounds really cheap actually , like something is hitting a wooden box i previously had the 2 10inch alpine type r's in a custom ported box at 39 hertz (same radio, same amp, same settings) and it sounded WAYYYY louder, cleaner, better is it an absolute MUST to get a custom ported box for it? the sealed box i got TEMPORARY till the summer when i build my custom ported box at 32 hertz, 2.5 cubic feet. its a Belva 12 inch…

I've asked this a few other places and have not gotten much help at all. One day I'll learn. Anyway, I drive a small SUV. I absolutely love my Dcon, but the box just takes up too much space. I do plan on trying it sealed, hopefully in the next few weeks, but I kind of want to try something else this summer, just to play around. My budget will be around $200 or less. I've been looking at running three 8's, a single 10" or 12", or a pair of small box 10's. Not having much luck with the last one, except for the Fi X, but a pair would be a little over my budget. I currently have an RF Prime 500.1, but I'm not opposed to getting a new amp in the future (I'd like to k…

Just when I think I found a sub...people throw new subs in my face. I'm considering the Mag D2, RL-P, and A/D/S 312rs/4. I know they're all great subs. But which would be best for me? This is what I posted in my Newbie Sign IN thread: I listen to metal, rap, hard rock, alternative, trance(mostly progressive), r&b. SQ matters a lot to me...but I'm a basshead and want to be able to feel the bass pounding in my lungs when I want. Whenever I look at a sub I make sure it can hit atleast 20Hz if not 16 Hz. But it looks like I will have to compromise in car audio as those subs usually need a much bigger box than the 2 cu ft that I want to limit my box to. So I would like …

I recently picked up a 2006 Pontiac GTO and it has a weak factory stereo. It comes factory with a 6.75" sub in the rear deck, but it is just terrible. I want to replace it with a nice 8" woofer that is still free air capable. I am not looking for something that will be just as loud as possible, I want something that sounds clean, since this is still my daily driver and I just want it to sound good. Any recommendations would be great. Thanks

what is the cutout diamater for the sub, and what would be the cutout diamater for the 2nd baffle if i wanted to have the flush mount going on. i was originally gonna do 3.5 cubes ported, but i would need to do a build in for that, and with no heat in the garage, i am not gonna do it till sping. so i ended up going chosing to go 2.5 cubes sealed.

So currently I have my six sa-10's wired up to a saz-3500d @ 1.33ohms and I'm hoping to get more out of this setup. I have a second saz-3500d coming tomorrow. I'm thinking I'll bridge the two amps after upgrading my electrical (acouple d3100's). I'm curious if you guys think this approach is sane or if you think the subs are going to smoke from the extra juice. I realize this is most likely one of those near impossible to answer questions that gets asked here all too often. Also, subs are turned to 32hz with 1.3cf each. Thanks.

Hello everyone, I currently have a pair of Image Dynamics CTX65CS components in my front door speakers and Type S's in my rear doors that're being powered off of my alpine headunit. I will soon be ordering the 12" Dcon Single 4 ohm to place in the 2.0 cubic foot box I have that has a port tuned to 32hz. I thought I got a pretty good deal on it, and it looks sturdy enough to hold the DCON with it's double baffled front! The amp i'm using to power my front components and the subwoofer is the Cadence DCA 4100 which I also linked below. Correct me if i'm wrong, But I have to bridge two channels of this amplifier together if I want my subwoofer to be seeing roughly 250 RMS at…

Im trying to decide which 12" sub i want in my car (its a 75 Chevy Nova hatchback). I listen to almost nothing but rap and i want to be very loud with one 12. Amp is a sae-1200dv1,im going to do the big 3 in 1/0 gauge, and i replaced my alternator when i rebuilt my engine but i have no idea how many amps it is. My budget is $350 so ive been looking at the Mach 5 spl,fi bl,and aq hdc3 copper...open to suggestions,i will make the optimum enclosure for whichever 12 i get. Im leaning toward the mach 5 or aq for when i want to upgrade my power instead of having to add another sub and amp.

Hello folks I never before came across Power Bass until I joined this fine forum. I have heard a lot of woofers at the top of their game throughout the years (SI Magnums, Incriminator Audio DP's, RE XXX's, DD's and so on) but I have never heard 1. Power Bass 2. Sound Splinter I realise there arent too many people out there who have heard all of the above woofers, but could somebody give me a pointer as to how the best woofer from companies 1 & 2 would fare up against the tried and testted super-subs, like the SI Magnum (great SQ/LSQ/SPL driver, the best all rounder I have come across) and the Incriminator Audio Death Penalty (mad streetbass sub that gets stinking …

I guess I don't know much about this subject. I did a quick search on here and didn't find all the info I was looking for on the questions that I've had lately. To my understanding, it's just the natural frequency of the sub. I'd like to know a little more than that. Recently I saw a topic where some 8's with ~38hz FS were for sale and someone described them to play really low on music, how nice they are for music, on and on. I didn't know if these subs were meant to play lower than 38 hz or if those people just called +38hz 'low'. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the FS is 1 frequency and not including the + and - frequencies (to some small extent) meaning that the sub can p…
