Any thoughts on which one of these 15" subs would be helpful. RE Audio SE '08 series aluminum spoke basket design---OR---Oz Audio Matrix Elite series??? Both of these are the same price which makes it even more difficult to choose. Looking for SQ so it will be going into a sealed box. Both are 4 ohm dvc wired to a 2 ohm load as my amp is only 2 ohm stable (boston acoustics gt-28 1100x1 @ 2 ohms)

  2. I have heard a million times that running one voice coil on a sub with multiple coils is wrong. I read an article by Adire Audio years ago and they actually suggested running on one voice coil in certain situations. I also remember that running one VC while "shorting" out the second VC would change woofer characteristics, I believe it raises QTS if I remember correctly. I understand that it would basically halve the power handling of the sub. What else does it do? The article also says something about a sub with 300 watts wasting 298 watts as heat, and only using around 2 as musical energy. Are speakers really, that inefficient? Here's the article if some of you want a g…

  3. Well, I think I am leaning towards two sealed twelves now, instead of an icon or xcon in a large ported box. Since IA doesn't post any specs on their woofers, it is hard to model responses and compare these two woofers. If I were to put these woofers into an optimum sealed enclosure, which would be better? What I mean by better is which one would give me the lowest extension, and upper extension, and the best SQ? Sundown shows an F3 of 44hz in a 1 cu. ft. box. that isn't too bad, and should dig pretty deep, but I cannot tell anything about the LI. They are both rated at 600 watts which will match nicely to my amp. They are priced the same. They both have great re…

Just like the title says, Xcon VS. DC LVL 4XL If they are both 15" Which would be a better subwoofer that will sound good with music while still pounding? and would either of these be able to fit in the trunk of a 98 honda accord coupe?

  6. I'm getting 2 12's of either kind. What's most important to me is the SQ, then the lows, and then SPL. I will have all the upgrades I need, as far as BIG 3, H/O Alternator, and XS power battery ( based on which subs i choose). The box i have is 5cuft tuned to 30Hz. Also if i decide the BL or Q i will get the 2 Sundown SAZ-1000D or 1 SAZ-2000D, If i choose the XCONS i will get a sundown SAZ-3500D, If i choose the Havocs I will pre-ordder the Sun-down SAZ-2500D. What will get louder? What will sound the best while being loud? & What will hit the lows the best while being loud and having good SQ? Also money is not a problem. Any input is helpful Thanks guys

I don't know what to put in my dash, it has stock 4x6 speakers, I want to try to do a 4" comp set or something like that, or should I just replace with coaxs? I know they make plate speakers but I don't know which way to go. I want a good clean sounding front stage with alot of bass, and crisp clean highs too. Help please.

I'm just looking for a single 10" or 12". My amp is an alpine m500. any suggestions for the sub? As far as my budget goes id like to keep it under 300$ for the sub and box.

What i am looking for in a sub is i want a lot of spl but to i want good sq to. My options are either 1 kicker L5 / 1 Alpine type r / 1 AQ SDC2.5 / 1 re audio Sex Series. So right now I have a Cadence ZRS-8 (site says 1500 rms @ 1 ohm, but really puts out around 18-1900 rms @ 1 ohm), and a RD Alpha V2. I want to upgrade so I can get more output, I was thinking either going a single 15" or two 12", it can't be anything that will only fit in a SUV because this will be going into a trunk of a '98 Honda Accord Coupe, my budget is $500 (i would prefer used so I can buy the sub(s) cheaper). I was thinking about a 15" Xcon, 15" BTL, two 12" Icons, or two 12" BL, I am also open to other suggestions.

im having some trouble making a decision on what size btl i wanna get. i have a 2000 4 door chevy blazer and i wanna try to keep the box height under the back of my seat. it will be ported. i cant make up my mind between 3 of the 12's, 2 15's or 1 18. if i do the 3 12's i can give them about 2.5 cubes a piece after displacement. the 15's would be a bit of a squeeze. the 18 i think would be fine in about 7-8 cubes. i cant decide what i want. im looking for something that i can beat on daily but i still want them to be able to get LOUD cause i do compete at local meca shows. any input would help also if you have some recommendations for other subs for around the same price …

Can i use a jl 6" w3v3 or maybe even 8" in my car for midbass drivers?? or would it not really make a difference? 2 12" ssa xcons off a saz-3000d. But i still can't put my hand on whether i want 2 12's or 1 15 ... would 2 6" jl's be good for midbass drivers though? like they can just fill the front of the car with a little more bass both are 150rms each.

After doing some testing with a few different size subs and enclosures, I've decided that I need to go with a small enclosure. I don't want to go much larger than one cube. The box I have now is 1.21 cubic feet, and I that's about as large as I want to go (preferably smaller, though). So, I'm needing some suggestions for subs that work well in smaller enclosures but still get loud. Budget (for the sub) will be around $150, give or take. I'll have a custom box built, probably downfiring so I can throw stuff in the back and not worry about punching a hole in the sub. The amp I have does 300 @ 4 and 600 @ 2. This is a daily driver and I listen to just about everything.…

OK So I have a 2000 Dodge ram Standard cab, I had 2 polk audio 12s in it 1 cu sealed per woofer. They are gone now. I am trying to decide if I want to go with 1 12 in center console area, 2 8's behind the seat s or 1-2 10s. I play a wide variety of music. I want it to pound when i want it to and sound clean when I need it to. With the truck being a std cab sucks for space. I am going to run a massive audio Nano N2 800 rms amp. I dont mind taking out the center console to replace it with a box but if I can get away with putting something behind the seats and the console then would be better all around. Oh ya for clarification looking at SSA ICON 12/10 respectively or 2 T…
