I am thinking about getting a couple of these and making my own component set...these are priced good and I like Mach5Audio. How efficient are these speakers??? Will they get loud on 50 watts??

Anyway here's a lil eye candy for everyone I'll be making a few vids soon along with a formal review for the Magnum's. And for anyone who doesnt know my box is roughly 11 cubes total 3.5 per sub tuned to 28hz . Amp is at 2ohm until a new Alt gets into the truck. Here's a pic of my box before install for a frontal view of the subs. Lets just say this thing is quite the beast

After all specs and pricing is weighed, what would be the better route? Amp would be a stetsom 4k2d or saz 3500d. Biggest enclosure I could do is 4.2 cubes before displacements. I will use two 4" x 17" aeroports (double flare). Thanks

Current set up is as follows: 2 AA Poly mids mounted in each door. WELL deadened. 80-2500Hz Vifa XT25 mounted about 12" above mids. HP around 2800Hz Xovers done via a Helix amp. I'm very happy with how it sounds, but you know how the upgrade bug is. I'm considering going 3 way with a dedicated midbass to replace one of the poly mids. Something like this: Peerless SLS 8" 60-250Hz Poly mid 250-2500Hz Vifa 2800+ I would also need to get an electronic xover and am not sure what yet as I haven't researched them. I'm looking for more punch/kick up front, mostly for 80's rock/metal, so lots of kick drums. But I don't want to lose the incredible midrange output for guitars, etc…

  12. Well its official. For X-mas I am asking mommy and daddy to buy me another Hifonics 1500 amp and SI D2 15. I already have 1 of each right now but want to upgrade. I plan on giving each sub 4 cu/ft and port each to say 34 hertz? (Wanna score high in comps as well as keep it clean for a daily driver) The whole trunk is going to be a box, the subs will fire towards the rear with the 3 amps (2 sub amps and hifonics 2 chan) mounted ontop the box in a "suspended" setup. (Pole holding up a slab of plexi glass and the amps mounted on the glass). The whole box will be covered in gray viynl to match the gray carpet Across the front by the amps I will have a peice of plexi glass and…

so, my friend Jeremiah tells me that his brother in law Sean was throwing away some vintage 70s 15" pioneers, so I was like sweet drop that shit in your trunk, I'll give you a holla' in 4 to 5 hours. so about 5 hours later, I showed up at his house, he told me Sean had ripped the woofers up to keep people from taking em. well, they werent actually in bad shape ;o the mids and tweets are destroyed, nothing I cant get off parts express for 50$ or less, I was more interested in the 15s for sub use (5.1 stereo with integrated subwoofer amp, my 8 that came with it was sold right after I got my 18 so I could buy some wood for it XD ) cause frankly, a 200hz crossover point mean…

I'm currently in the process of upgrading my subwoofers. Currently I have two Diamond audio 15inch d3 in a ported prefab box powered by Mmats pro audio d2000.1, I have the Diamond audio d672 component sets in the front and diamond d6 coaxiles in the back powered by diamond audio d3 500.4 amplifier. I love the d3 subs but need something more powerful. I would like four 15s and I dont want to spend more then 350 per sub. I'm picking between ssa icons, fi q, ascendant audio havocs, or the incriminator audio death rows. I'm looking for the sub with the best LOUD SOUND QUALITY and really hit the low notes. I listen to a lot of rock, techno, a little rap, r&b, and classical…

I have these 2 subs in a 2 cube sealed box. My amp is a JBL 1200.1 I'd like to keep this box as it uses my trunk space very well. Before these subs, I had an 12" Brahma in a 2 cubic foot vented box that aboslutely slaughter. Sadly it was stolen and by then Adire was long gone. Keeping my current sub and box, what pair of 12's would you all recommend? $250 each would be a reasonable max. Less is even better.

I have seriously been thinking about doing a DIY comp set and I remember looking at these a while ago. Since you guys have infinite more knowledge than me , can you point me in the right direction as far as a good matching tweeter for it? Planning on going active with a Sundown 100.4, but im not sure what tweeter to match with it. I saw the review of it months ago on here and it looked solid for my needs, just wanted a few opinions. The tweeters I have heard before include the mainstream stuff (Infinity Reference, Pioneer, Kenwood, Polk Audio, Kicker, etc...) Im not looking for SPL, more like SQ but with good output, (have to be able to keep up with a pair of 15s Porte…

  19. Today I pulled out my 3 way Dynaudio 362 set today and I see that I have one tweeter blown. I don't know that I want to spend $300 on a replacement set either. I didn't love them that much. lol I am going to run passive as I have the 3-way passive crossovers and dont want to add all the extra amps to go active. I am trying to keep this to a minimum both with weight and equipment used. I am going to put the 8" woofer in the door and 3" mids with 1" tweeters in the kicks. I found that worked better when I was passive on this set so thats where I am going to start first. The passive tweeeter is a second order @ 3.5khz (12db), the mid and woofer are first order 900-3500 (6db)…

so, im trading in my tahoe and took out the 2 15 BLs. i loved how it hit with rap music and somewhat liked the performance with electro/house/etc. so i cant use these anymore so im going to sell them to a friend. now im getting a car and was wondering what would be a decent set up? i was thinkin 2 10s or 2 12s Q sealed for space/volume reasons. i got 2 kickers 1000.1 topoewr each sub, should i get something else instead? i'll have to look at the car today and figure out my available work space after i do some homework(actual school homework, lawlz) Im not sure yet lols just hopin for some ideas i guess. i dont want the car to rattle, but i dont have alot of money atm to i…

Am currently decideing between getting a 15" Incriminator Audio Death Row (with the correct gain setting and knob control) or a 15" RD Audio Heavyweight (SQ model). I have 2000 ~2200 watts of rms to play with and planning to use a 4 cu.ft enclosure tuned to about 28~32 Hz seeing that the enclosure size is within both woofer's specs. Electrical is not a problem ( 230 amp HO alt., Big 3 done with double runs of 0 gauge, kinetik 1800 in the back). Am wanting to know which sub to get. I know that this may not be the best forum for the topic but i like to hear both positives and negatives of the sub(s) that am thinking of purchasing. Am wanting a sub that is musical and can p…

how are these subwoofers in terms of SQ/SPL i know that focal is more of a SQ speaker rather than SPL but i was wondering how 2 of these would sound with about 500 watts running to each sub. Also, what kind of box would you put these in? Ported or Sealed One more thing, what kind of amp would you run to power these I was looking at the PG Xenon 1200.1, or the RE 12.1, if you have any other reccomendations let me know Thanks in advance!

  25. I have Scan-Speak Discovery D2608/9130 in mdf rings mounted to my dash and windshield with double sided tape. One of them came off the dash on a hot day. When I picked it up I realized the double magnets aren't glued together anymore. Here are some pics. Can I just clean up the surfaces with some denatured alcohol, apply some CA glue and clamp the magnet back together?
