Subwoofers / Speakers

looking at zaphaudio.com, this SB Acoustic speaker is the best bang for the buck around $50 a piece. But I've seen a lot of people mention this Peerless speaker as well. The only negative I can find is the SB speaker is 8 ohms so I'd have to find a slightly larger amp to give them their full 60w @ 8 ohms compared to the peerless which need 50W @ 4 ohms. Not necessarily a negative I know...I just read up on why higher impedance is not bad. No place around here has these speakers so I can't really listen to them and determine for myself which I like better. Anyone have any input on these two? So here's the scoop. I have A 2004 Dodge Ram quad cab that i plan on outfitting this spring, and I am very indecisive so I figure I better start planning things out now. I have learned from this forum and my own mistakes to start with the front stage, so that's where I'm at. Right now there are 6x9s in the front and 5.25s in the rear. I am thinking of doing 6.5 componants up front and just leaving the rear alone, unless it is greatly beneficial. I guess my first question is active or passive. Ok so Ive had many systems in my life time. I am looking for a 10" or 12" no more than $150. I would prefer a 10" in a ported box. I have a jl audio xd500/3 so 300 at 2ohms on the sub channel. I'm not gonna upgrade amps. I will run the front speakers off the front two channels at 70x2 or something like that. I can buy jl audio, alpine, kenwood, and hertz at almost cost. For example jl10w0v3 $65 ea. So I want to know some what you all think. I was thinking about 1.5ft^3 but I know it will depend on the sub. Let me know what subs.

So I have pretty much decided that I am going to choose 1 of 2 things.. I have 4 Memphis Mojo 15s right now and I am either going to a) do a third row wall or b) buy two DD9518g's The reason for the third row wall is because I don't have enough space for my batteries and amps with a traditional box right now because my truck isn't that big. What do you guys think? Keep the 4 or sell them off and go with 2 18s?

I am looking at getting a new 12" or 15" sub for my 2001 Jetta. I am looking between the IA Death Row and the FI BL. I listen to mostly rap and I would be building my own box to spec. I only have enough room for one 12" or 15" so about 3.5 cu. ft. Currently I have a Hifonics BXI1206D so 1200 w rms @ 1 ohm. Any other suggestions would be apprecitated, looking for something loud that sounds good.

Is it really recommended for a daily driver not get to get spl rated subs or is it acceptable?

which do u think would be better SQ and SPL wise? both would be in 2 15's and have a Hifonics BX1800D amp on each. i just dont know if 2 15" RE XXX's would be better or if 2 15" Brahma's would be better...

I've got a question regarding my XCON, it looks like the glue is separating from the cone and the surround on the underside of the sub. I was wondering how to go about repairing this issue. Thanks in advance.

I'm looking through my subs owner's manual, and I can't find the displacement. What is displacement represented as? I've Googled it every way possible and still have come up with nothing. They are Clarion SW1051's. Sorry for the noob question.

Which is better for 2 12" 9500s? A hifonic brutus 2000 or 2600? how many watts should i put to em?

Hi I am getting close to getting all the pieces to start my build and now it is down to the door speakers. It will be in a explorer and ran off a Kicker zx650.4 I have decided to get 2 pairs of MLI-65s for the front and rear. Does anyone know some tweats that could match them good? Price is the main concern but am willing to spend an extra dollar if it's worth it. Also would I need a crossover and could someone point me to a few worth the price. Thanks for any input! Hi guys, I currently have two regular pioneer 10" shallow mount subs in the back of my dodge ram. i was planning on upgrading to the the premium pioneer 10"s ( the s4 model) this friday. I have a rocksford fosgate r500 d series amp. the old subs run at around 200-250 rms i belive, and the new ones would run at 300 rms. my amp pushes out 500 raw rms. i am not sure ( despite what they told me at the aduio shop) wether or not my amp will be enough to properly power the new subs. The guy says whenever he does a system with the preium pioneers he uses the r500 amp. However, i'd hate to upgrade only to see a minimal change in performance. does anyone have any kind of experience…

HELP please WHich would be the best for the rear of my rsx...i want something that is clean sounding, has nice mid range presence (spl) and will give me crisp, accurate highs. I am currently looking at cyrstal csx615, infinity kappa 652,5i, polks db675, and image dynamics ctx6. I have cdt classic comps in front with silk tweets. hey guys, the 15" mag will be coming before i know it and i haven't got anything to power it with. i dont mind running it at 1 or 4 ohm, i'm just looking for the best means of driving it for STRICTLY daily driving. money IS a concern but doesn't have to be a very big issue. i was originally looking at either the hifonics BX1500d or BX1000d, but have now realized that for a hundred bucks more, there is better. also, The JBL 1200.1 crossed my mind but was ruled out. I am running the stock alt and am going to do the BIG 3 fairly soon. now im looking into Phoenix Gold. My sub will be bumping bass for parts of the song then it will cut out and nothing will be coming out of the bass. I have 2 subs, ones a 12 and the other is a 10 kicker compR. I have a 900watt pioneer amp connected to the them both, the bass will cut in and out, what’s the problem?? I’m clueless with subs
