So over the last 2 years I pre-planned my van build making it clear that I don't want 30Hz-60Hz. That I must have as much 30Hz on down output as possible, but 60Hz on up would be nice as well. With only 1 HO alt, I was able to sort of get by by having my subs LPed at 31.5Hz. Less information to re-create, more power for the narrower band... and that narrower band is very high excursion (low frequency) for more cone motion to keep things cool with a clipped signal. Well I'll be getting 2 more HO alts, so I can bring the LP up to 100Hz where it should be, as I finally moved my 6.5's HP up to 100Hz. any thoughts on what the best sounding enclosure for these subs are? I would lean towards vented for the boom, what do you guys think, gonna build a box for one soon. I want deep sounds, also some snap when I need it though.

Last weekend I made up a modified MJ-18M and we decided to do some power testing using a SounDigital SD-12k. This unit has a single 1 Ohm voice coil and a couple of other mods: The box we placed it in. Not sure what the size or tuning was as it belonged to Murilo. Perhaps he can comment on it: First test went fairly well with 1.5kw: Second test did better with more power: Third test was with 11.6kw of power: Fourth test didn't produce any more output but the FrankenMJ took quite a bit - almost 16kw(!): That's pretty decent power for a single SD-12k amp!

I have seriously been thinking about doing a DIY comp set and I remember looking at these a while ago. Since you guys have infinite more knowledge than me , can you point me in the right direction as far as a good matching tweeter for it? Planning on going active with a Sundown 100.4, but im not sure what tweeter to match with it. I saw the review of it months ago on here and it looked solid for my needs, just wanted a few opinions. The tweeters I have heard before include the mainstream stuff (Infinity Reference, Pioneer, Kenwood, Polk Audio, Kicker, etc...) Anyone have experience with RE's SR/SRX lineup? Ready to order sub(s), but have come to a fork in the road: Multiple good subs vs one stronger sub of equal build quality. From what I've researched I could probably feed the SRX's 500w (<600w) a piece just fine; though they're 300rms rated. My thoughts: Wanted to stay under/around the $300 mark for the sub(s) and ~1kw of pow-a. Budget-"ish" build. Could have more cone area and better cooling w/ two subs on equal wattage. A single Q 18 seems loud and clear enough on it's own, from what I gather. I have no 150db targets or some ~ish not competing just knocking music. currently i have 2 12" boston acoustic g5 subs with 2 12" gtr passive radiators running off a mtx 1501D in the spare tire well firing up. im not satisfied with the spl and want something louder. im thinking about taking them out of the spare tire well and removing my rear strut bar and then make a box where the subs can fire towards the rear of the car or fire them towards the cabin since there is only a metal cross brass between the trunk and cabin (2003 mitsu evo 8). since i have the gtr radiators, im also considering firing my subs to the rear of the car and have the gtr radiators fire towards the cabin all in a sealed enclosure (shown in an example on boston's websit…

Yep. Every 15" went out the door today at 4:30 PM. I'm going to do my best to get back to everyone through email tonight with the tracking numbers, but I can't make any promisses.

Now, for a little explaining. We're going to have our logo at the top across the back (where your sholderblades are), which is what "SI" is in the poll above. The first option listed above is to put the text "Subwoofers" under our logo and then start the phrase below that. The second option is just for our logo and then the phrase under that. The phrase that we've decided on will take up the back of the shirt, it's not just going to be a little line on the back. So anyway, put "Subwoofers" under our logo or no? I'm voting no, but the VP votes yes, so the rest is up to you guys.

I currently have an older 12 alpine type r 2nd gen. Does anybody think going to a soundqubed hds312 would be an upgrade as a daily driver sub or would it just be wasted money? There is also no mention of the hds312 box recommendation, and I am wondering if it would be ok in a 1.5 cube sealed OR 2 cube ported. I would be running it off of hifonics brz1200.1d at 2 ohms for 900 rms but highly doubt it since stock voltage isn't at 14.4v, so maybe closer to 700?

I have a JL Audio 500/1v2 & am ready to add my substage. I'm using an Alpine-CDA-9886 h/u & Image Dynamics CTX-65 components up front, powered by a JL Audio 300/4v2 (running active). I know JL Audio isn't very well liked around here, but I got the 2 amps lnib for $280. I originally planned on porting a single Sundown SA-12, but now I'm not sure. I can get a brand new Sundown SA-12d2 for $160 locally, or order a 12'' MB Quart RWE-302 from woofersetc for $70. I plan on porting either way, & I have a Grand Cherokee, so space isn't an issue as I've heard the MBQ's need alot of space. I am going over my system and trying to fix things up for more quality at higher volumes. at present i have a 2 way setup bi amped with an alpint 1" silk tweet and a 10" crachendo. so here is what im thinking right now: im looking at hertz speakers as we sell them at my new job and they sound amazing. so i can pick up a 2 way hertz (either 5.25" or 6.25") and get a new 2 channel amp for them. then i can run my 10" crachendos as mid bass speakers with high/low pass filters on my present amp. does this sound like it might be a good way to build a 3way setup with what i already have or would buying a already built 3 way (6.5, 3.5, tweet) from hertz work out better do you …

Okay.... So this is another thread for me about my front stage... new ideas and different product.. I'm really liking the Image Dynamics (which can be found HERE)and the Morel Tempo 6 (which can be found HERE) ... Question now is... Which would have potential for more output(volume) and retain the quality... Doors are deadened and I may do more down the road so that shouldn't be a huge concern right now... Amplifier is currently a Boston Acoustics GT2-125 ... 125w @ 4ohms.... I usually listen to volume of 40-50 out 62 on my Pioneer HU ... Any more info needed let me know.... Bought a 2013 jeep wrangler 2 dr a few weeks back, and it definitely needs some audio upgrades. have been looking at components, but still pretty new to them and looking for any advice or guidance on what to look for before I waste my money.
