I have a sundown saz 1500d v3, and was hoping to run all sundown equipment soon, so the question is would a 1500d push two sa 15s nice or would they seem ' under powered'. Would most likely have the box be 3.5 cubes each @ 35 hz

Either would be a 15." The setup is going into a Dakota ext. cab. Ive got my electrical upgrades (200 amp alternator, extra battery, and big 3 done with double runs of 0 ga.) and sound deadening is completed. Ill be powering either driver with a AQ 2200 (Gain will be set accordingly). I listen mostly to 90% reggae music, 5% rap, and another 5% with a mix of others. Am wanting a setup that is very musical, and can get loud when needed. But dont get me wrong, am not looking for an all out SQ setup, but i do like to sound good. The enclosure will be constructed around whatever driver is selected, hopefully by this weekend. Both are in the $500 range give or take a few bucks …

  5. They seem great. I still can't believe Mark's prices. You would never guess that they're $36 speakers by looking at them. They even came with grills and hex screws. I'll be installing them tonight. I can't wait. You'll get a review on Monday. Since this is my first post, here's a little background: I'm 16, got into this stuff when I got my car at 14. I drive a Geo Tracker with a pair MAW12s, each in a PWK designed 4th order BP. The boxes are stacked in a wall sorta style. It's ridiculously loud even with the soft top. I have a PHD-10,000W/2 driving the MAWs which are wired to 4 ohms. My front-stage consists of a NINe.4 driving a/d/s tweeters and the MLIs wil…

I read on a thread on here that a sub with say 90 sensitivity rated 500rms would be louder (on the meter atleast) than a sub with a 85 sensitivity rated 1000 rms. are there other factor involved in this besides sensitivity. like excursion, that would affect which one is louder. I ask because I was wonderin around on ebay and saw a sub called a AA Bass15 (I'm sure its not the same AA that some ppl on here use) and it has a sensitivity of 96 db rated 450/900. Thinking about the whole double power gains 3 db rule, mathematically it seems like this would be better than my audiopulse axis with 87db sensitivity rated 2500rms, but it does mid to high 40's. would that little e…

What is the consensus on usability of the volume of air behind the red panel ? This a box for an RE SE 15, that should go in a 2000 Mitsubishi Galant, very weird trunk and it's a 2-piece box. Box height is not enough at this point but I can get it 1/2" taller, which should be good to go.

I'm considering buying a used Rl-i 12" to use in my '93 Nissan Altima. I've run an Ascendant Audio Atlas12" (now part of a set in my work van) as well as a Memphis PR12 and currently, an MClass12" (Memphis also). I'm using a smallish 1.2cf sealed box w/o any fill and have a USAcoustics2100 (300x1 @4ohm/12.9v). The MClass has pretty good SQ but lacks output (not as loud as the PR IMO). What is the VC configuration of the older RL-i 12 and would the power I have be enough to be happy with it or does it require more? Any box sizes that would work better sealed? How does it compare w/the subs I mentioned if any of you have owned or heard them? Thanks!! Jeremy

So I currently have Kicker CVXs upgraded from some MTX Subwoofers that used to have 400RMS. None the less I feel like I don't have the 1000 watts that I should and most people are telling me it's my box. My box is 1.8 cubes and that's for both subwoofers. Kicker barely fits and I was looking as the SA-10 requires .5, so surely giving it .9 each would make it sound REALLY good? It's a sealed box and I'm just trying to destroy my truck essentially. I've got the BRZ1200.1 amp and I hope that these subwoofers will do well in my single cab. I couldn't find the frequency response on these though....if anyone knows can they share it with me? EDIT: Posted on the wrong forums but …

So i have a 2002 Chevy Tahoe. My enclosure is around 3.9 cubes net at 30hz, i know its mall (mostly port... I had an Fi Q 15" dual 1 on a Soundstream Dtr 1.3400 (3400 rms @ .5 ohm/ 2200 @ 1) and metered 146.7@45hz. I got a second Q and did 148.1 wired at .25 ohm @45hz. I later dropped a BTL 18" dual 2 in the same box and now i meter 145.8 @48hz on 2200 rms. But the 18" sounds extrmely louder than the 2 Q's.. But i would expect it from a lower peak freq.? The Tahoe flexes alot more but wouldnt that make of a lower peak? Any input on this is apreciated. Thanks

What I have right now.... 2 Sundown E-12s (400rms version) Hooked up to a 1700.1 Hifonics Amplifier at 1 ohm. Inside of a custom box made for the Ford Mustang Convertible, .9 each sub, sealed. Well, isnt that too much power? yes it is! So obviously the gain is way down. My question, Would I benefit from switching the subwoofers to something that can handle more power? The problem: If I do get new subwoofers, the mounting depth can be NO MORE than 6.5 inches.

  24. I have a sealed box that I bought for my Trans Am (well, Firebird back then, before I upgraded) about 7 years ago. I love the way it looks, and it allows me to store my T-tops in the rear. It was made for 2x 12" Kicker L5s, which I just got rid of because they sounded sloppy. They were loud, but not in a great way. I am in the process of modifying the box to allow 12" circle subs, and each chamber will have around 1.1cu ft each. I want my setup this time around to be a little cleaner and sound better. Last year I installed some CDT components up front, with 6.5" CDT woofers in the rear. I plan on powering them with a PPI P900.4, just waiting to make sure it will f…

  25. I love my 67 mustang coupe - absolutely no room in the rear seat for passengers (just too damn small), so that's where the groceries go now that my trunk is filled with SI goodness In case you were wondering, that's a Hifonics Brutus BX1000D amp for each magnum - and then there's two Zapco Reference 350 amps (one's shown, one's hidden) for the double set of SI 307's I have in the kick pods up front, and sunk into the package tray in the rear.
