My ass has been asking this on just about EVERY forum, but because I'm an indecisive idiot, I'm gonna ask here. Okay so I've got a Honda Fit hatch, looking to put the ol' audio in. I'm pretty much set on everything but the subwoofer. Comps: Alpine Type-X Refs, 6.5 Comp amp: Profile AP600 (got it for $55!) HU: Clarion DXZ785USB Sub amp: JBL bp1200.1 (spent $100 on this one) Now I just gotta figure out what to put in the ol' hatch. I've got about 1300 watts to work with at 2ohm, 1400 at 1ohm. I can fit a box about 38x17x17, so somewhere in the area of 4.2cu if I push my limits and have a 3" wide slot, aiming to tune it low-ish, around 32Hz. Like to snag a single 15 due to …

Hi I am getting close to getting all the pieces to start my build and now it is down to the door speakers. It will be in a explorer and ran off a Kicker zx650.4 I have decided to get 2 pairs of MLI-65s for the front and rear. Does anyone know some tweats that could match them good? Price is the main concern but am willing to spend an extra dollar if it's worth it. Also would I need a crossover and could someone point me to a few worth the price. Thanks for any input! i read the sticky on this already, but can you use speaker wire instead? and how do you remove the push terminals and make the connection style of the pos and neg leads like the AQ or DD's?

First off let me say that I love the look of the old SI Magnum especially the Claw basket. The new SI D2 looks ok, but besides looks is there big differences in the models? The new one looks to have less cone area (maybe more similar to a 10" cone and a huge surround.) I'm sure there is a thread describing the newer driver, but how about a comparison? Advantages? Disadvantages? General differences? PS.. The 8"s never materialized .. any future plans for those, or 10"s?? The Hammer

Im trying to decide how to get the most bang for the buck out of 2 twelves and a Hifonics BXi 2008D what im not sure is whether i should go with the q's or bl's im putting them in a jeep cherokee and any help on what ones i should get and ported or not would be awesome thanks.

I measure my trunk...w/ the spare in it Alot tighter than i expected So 2 12s will fit the bill I was thinking 2 maw12's in a 4 cubic ft. box tuned to 30hz or 28hz then give them bout 400-500 watts a piece...that sound good?

Ok so When it comes to this wiring stuff and ohms I'm very dumb.. So anyway like it says I have two 12 inch mags and 1 Sundown sae-1000d amp. What I would like to know is how do i wire the 2 subs to the 1 amp and what ohmage (if thats even a word) and what power would the subs be recieving.. This guy at this car audio shop dropped kicker line because he said Memphis Subs were louder is that true? He's selling me 2 15's Memphis PR's with a Ported Box for $289.. Will these be louder than the L7's? or CompVR

Hi all, Some of you may be following my build log. Well my dad is seeing my progress and he's getting jealous. He drives a 1986 Mercedes 300SDL. He's the person who got me into audio in the first place. He as an incredible-sounding system in his car, with the exception of bass. He only has 4" MB Quart speakers installed, running on a PPI amp and a super high-end Nakamichi head unit... the one that's all metal. The detail I hear in his system is just incredible. He hates loud bass, but he most definitely could use some improvements in the low frequency range. What is the extension for the MLI-65? Looking to possibly use these in my doors for a DIY comp set?

Hey guys, I have a brother that I installed an mj18 with a buttkicker silent subwoofer amp for almost 2 years ago. It has been great for him but now he is ready to upgrade, currently since the mj18 is 4ohm the amp is running 4ohm. What I would like to do is keep the amp, and 3.6-3.8cf box and replace the mj18 with an ixl18, but I realize its a 2+2voicecoil config. So the buttkicker is 2ohm stable, but I have read that if an amp is 2ohm stable then it will be 1ohm stable as well is there any truth to this? Also the box is sealed, and I wondered how the ixl would do in the sealed box at 3.6cf. We really like the price point for what the ixl can do. The only other opti…

Yes I've search around for comparison of the Mach 5 Audio IXL 12" with other subs, but with not much luck. So I was wondering people who have experience with this driver how does it compares with the RE Audio SE's, the FI Q and the FI SSD in Loudness in sealed enclosure of 1ft^3 I know they have awesome SQ, can they handle much more than they rated 1000wrms daily? For a loud daily driver with multiple of subs like 20+ in a sealed enclosure, which one of the above will you choose? it has to be loud sealed because a bunch of them, good sq and good power handling. Do you guys think it's a good idea to go with 24x of the IXL 12" sealed diamond or clamshell enclosure? Anyw…

What are your opinions on this sub? in my case, it is $48 cheaper than a RL-p (both being 15s). idk if im down with the 1000w rms though. do you folks think they will hit pretty much the same dbs in general, just one will sound nicer than the other?

starting a A-pillar and kickpanel build. found these CDT 6.5's for kicks CDT's for kicks with mid level tweeter option CDT 6.5's for kicks with upgraded tweeter and then these for the A-pillars CDT comps for A-pillars what do ya think? or should i stick with the RE 6.5's for the kicks?

well, haven't been around for a bit so I'd thought i'd drop by and say hello. Been busy with my new job cause working in a car audio place sucks....only the owner makes the money. But just to let you on some new products, CDT has offered the 2in driver in the HD line. Uses a different coating on the cone than the ES. ES is more a delicate driver than the HD one. Its a little beast though. little over an 1in deep, should be fun in the car though. Careful on the crossover points though, from the little use I've used in a temp pod I think I like it at 1k hz and up. I'll be using it as my main tweeter with the drt-26 as my image one.
