Last year I purchased a set of Image Dynamics CTX-65CS for my front stage. I was running them on an AQ200.2 amp. The right side tweeter kept blowing so ID upgraded me to the XS-28 tweets and the matching crossovers from the CSX set. Well, after 3 more attempts the tweets kept blowing. They said it must be something wrong with my amp, so I swapped the amp for my Kenwood KAC-7005PS. I bridged the channels to get 100 watts per side so that overpowering should not be an issue. Well, after the warranty ran out my last replacement came in. It lasted a week. I don't know what the problem could be unless the driver on that side was bad, sending the incorrect ohms to the tweets. T…

here is a few pics of a box i just finished for a explorer....the install pic is on another camera.....anyway, the amp was doa, so no beats yet.....however i did hook this up in my truck off my amp, giving them about 600 wrms, and while they aren't my 15's..they are indeed loud and very clean oh yeah..they are in 1.75ft^3 apiece and the box has a fs of 38hz..well, according to mtx specs...so does that mean that it is tuned to 38hz? anyway, it is my first time carpeting a box and i almost didn't have enuff, so in the process a nasty seam was created..but it faces the back seat, so it won't be seen ........ also...i charged $150 including materials,which came to $65 or so..…

Recently purchased a Avionixx AXT-1200.2 for a great price off ebay. Now I have matching amps . Well within minutes of receiving the package, I install the amp which takes 15 minutes tops... Fire it up, have some trouble find I had set it on High pass instead of Low pass :thud: .. But get everything straightened out and let her rip. best way to describe what happened next : WOW.... I started a thread a couple weeks ago but I butchered my questioning so bad that I wasn't able to get the response I was looking for so I'm gonna try again. Anyway, what frequency is the foot pedal of the bass drum typically played at? If possible, I'm wanting my sub to maximize that frequency, as I love the short kicks in the back of my seat, and minimize the other frequencies of the long bass notes that, when played with too much volume, drown out my mids/highs. I am going over my system and trying to fix things up for more quality at higher volumes. at present i have a 2 way setup bi amped with an alpint 1" silk tweet and a 10" crachendo. so here is what im thinking right now: im looking at hertz speakers as we sell them at my new job and they sound amazing. so i can pick up a 2 way hertz (either 5.25" or 6.25") and get a new 2 channel amp for them. then i can run my 10" crachendos as mid bass speakers with high/low pass filters on my present amp. does this sound like it might be a good way to build a 3way setup with what i already have or would buying a already built 3 way (6.5, 3.5, tweet) from hertz work out better do you …

right now i have a jl e6450 amp http://www.carsound.com/articles/publish/article_268.shtml and im getting these type 4 components http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/products/p...ng=en&tab=F the amp does 70 watts at 4 ohms and 110 watts at 2 ohms my question is can u wire components to get the 2 ohm load? cause the alpine type r components are 4 ohm and i dont want them getting 70 watts when they can be getting the 110

Im having some minor issues with my two Z 15's and i was wondering if i upgrade to a couple of btl 15's what will i gain/lose wit output and sound quality? Is it worth the extra $80?

Is it possible to just replace the surround on a sub, let's say Xcon? Can you do it without having to actually do a full recone?

I'm looking for recommendations for a sub. I've got a .82 cubic ft custom sealed fiberglass enclosure and a Polk Audio PA400.1 which does 300w at 2ohm - actual output could be a little higher from what I've read. I'm looking to spend under $200. I like to have some "thump" but accuracy is far more important. I had a ID12d2v2 from about 5 years ago but that one's done. I was on sounddomain.com reading a thread on the XXX subwoofers and how people were building these snail shell boxes for them. They were saying how the sub got crazy loud and its the best ever. Has anyone here put their sub in a snail shell and listened to how it sounded? Anyone got plans so I can try this?

I have a 2006 KIA SPECTRA SX sedan. I have HAT Unity U-61 powered by an Arc Audio KS 300.2 amp I have a TREO RSX 1600 amp who is subless. TREO RSX 1600 312 x 1 @ 2 ohm 600 x 1 @ 1 ohm I am looking for a subwoofer that can handle Jazz music? I am not sure which subwoofer to go with that amp. I am not sure if I should do Fi Audio, Incriminator Audio SSA, Boston Acoustics, Image Dynamics or Arc Audio. I am looking for something for under $200 because of financial reasons. I am not sure if I woudl do sealed or ported plus I am not sure if I should go 10 or 12. Thank you.

I am looking into getting a 18" Fi Bl or Q for daily use. Just a little caught in between the two right now. Is going in a Hyundai xg300 powered by a kicker zx1500.1. my only concern is space(32w 17h 33d) those are external demolitions before displacements if i go with the bl it has to have a ported box and they tend to be bigger than regular sealed boxes. i would prefer to do this by making a deep box that takes up my whole trunk but at the same time i wont be able to slide it in easily or at all if i go with the Q i am sure i can get a sealed box made that will fit in probably with a little poly fill. Only concern with that is even with the BP power option will it …

hello all, i currently have one dual 2ohm xxx15 in a snail shell designed enclosure wired to a bx1500d at one ohm. ive had this setup for about a year and it is very loud and sounds very good, but with this hobby, you all know how it goes; you always want to try something new and im still quite the bass-head.. ive wanted to try ddaudio for years and i think its about time. so, i was wondering if any of you guys would recommend the dd3500 series. ive always been a single-sub kind of guy, but 2 12s sound so intriguing because of the added cone area over a single 15, especially that of the dd variety, though the 9900

Alright ... dual Shiva's ... amp = Arc 1500D-R. Right now they're firing upwards in 1.25 cubes per driver. I'm pleased with their performance, but I personally think they can do a bit more. I've tried 1 cube per driver, 1.25/driver, and 1.5/driver all sealed, with and without polyfill. I stuck with the 1.25/driver with polyfill just because that's what sounded the best to me. I've also tried 1.75/driver ported to 24hz. Wasn't too bad. Keep in mind they are firing upwards. It's a Chevy 2500HD ... big truck, four door, custom center console ... woofers in the back half of the truck firing upwards. Bucket seats in the back if you can picture it ... the console divides…
