I have to say it works very well. At the moment I am no where near done with my sound deadening, but the serious improvement on road noise entering the cabin from the rear of the car, is very nice for the long highway commute. So freaking easy to install, cut to size, spray adhesive from Second Skin on surface and on the Overkill, lay into place, hold for a few seconds, and done. Cannot wait to do the doors with this too. If I have enough I will do the firewall and floor. Install pictures will come later when I am done.

So I am doing a completely new door setup. The inner skin to which the speaker is normally mounted to will be cut out. I am basically going to fiberglass a completely new door panel that will act as a sealed pod that will bolt on to the sides of the door. My question is how do I go about deadening this since the speakers will be housed in their own fiberglass enclosure? This was my approach. Let me know what you think. I was going to deaden the actual steel door with a layer of damplifier then glue a layer of luxury liner ontop of that. I would then bolt in the fiberglassed pod. Inside the pod I would glue on a layer of overkill. Does that sound about right? I want some …

Hi when looking at Second Skins site I noticed they are offering a presale on Alpha Damp and I'm very interested in buying this product because the estimated release date is right around my birthday. Before I jump in on this presale I have a few questions that can hopefully be answered. First I noticed that this tile is .6 mil thick but has a .1 mil thick foil will this still be better than Damplifier Pro for eliminating flex and internal noises? I'm interested in using one of these for the back of my truck around the solid window where there is a lot of flex and noise when i really turn my music up. And my second question is how many tiles or sq. feet are included in the…

Approx how much does one go through on an SUV? SPL application, I'm looking at 2 layers of Damplifier on the floor and Pro over that, and 2 layers of Pro under the headliner and in the doors. Figured I'd need about 140-160sq ft ... I'll be buying 20-30ft extra - got some other cars to do, but also the speaker tweaker kits for all my doors (RE XXX's ...) and Overkill on top of the doors. Or is that too much deadener? ... I'll be pushing mid-150db's and 7-10kw ... I'm a broke college student, doing this and running my 3/0 and RCA's at once so I want to make sure I don't have to tear this apart again!!! Oh the car is a Trailblazer, approx same size as a Burban

I am going to be deadening my whole truck and SS keeps comming up as a quality brand. I was wondering how much you think I might need to do the entire vehicle. I'm really hoping to reduce road and wind noise and also stop as much vibration as possible for when I get around to installing some decent audio in there. LMK what you think would be the right amount and any tips you might have to maximize efficiency of deadening in such a big vehicle.

So I'm trying to sound deaden my moms 2009 or 10 (it's the newer body style) Honda CRV to kill road noise. She commutes 1-4 hours a day (mostly highway) and hates the road noise. This car is horrible! Ultimately she doesnt care about stereo or thermal insulation, she just wants a quieter ride. I was under the impression that the floor would make the biggest difference, so I used ~80 sq ft of damp pro on the entire floor, spare tire area, as high up on the firewall as I could get, and some on the back hatch. Also did the back quarterpanels I believe they are called (above the rear wheel wells) and stuffed the huge open cavities with several yards of fiberglass. The result…
