Team SSA

Lets get this build log started! I was debating a new build back in October, but with the haunt and buying the new building, well I had to put it off until now. What funded this build was, in my very little free time I clean saltwater aquariums and have been saving that money for a few months. I was undecided which way I wanted to go, but after talking to Aaron I decided to go with SSA subs. I have never been part of the team until now, but I have always promoted SSA in a positive manor. I decided on 2 18" XCONS sealed. The box is 54"x22"x22.75" total net vol after disp and bracing is about 11.6 cubes. Now for the pictures and yes this may be picture heavy.

anyone have anything planned for the upcoming season? I know i'm down grading to two 12"s. Can't take the weight much longer. I'll get pics up as soon as the box is in progress. Anyone else?

i have been talking about getting this piece for a while now. Our family has been blessed with me getting some decent hours in, so here it is..... my new SSA ZCON tattoo. i hope all of my fellow team mates fromTeam SSA like it. Chop repping SSA proudly 24/7 !!!!!! the picture i wanted the profile from. the pattern.... the gun being used, outline finished, looking good.....it was time to start letting the cat out of the bag, text sent to Aaron! lol

You guys need to make some posters so I can hang them up in my dorm lol. I need a poster of the xcon 18s lol. I am about to run a giant SSA sticker across the wall.

I'll be in Penticton BC at the Canadian Finals "Okanogan Thunder 2009" on Aug 23 giving Demo's of the Xcons ...it's gonna be a big comp with over 300 cars and there is alot of clean Beach access in the area...should be a fun day hope to see a few of you guys there

Going to be doing a bit of upgrades to the truck which include... New JVC KW-NT700J Navi unit 1 15" ZCON (on 4kw RMS) 1 15" Custom Enclosure built by Ricki30 from Alerion Enclosures, Tucson AZ Completely custom fabbed steel false floor skeleton for the back end. I plan on mounting all my amps under the false floor, leaving myself a blank slate above it to install various boxes for testing etc... I will still be using my MTX TE4000Ds & TE1004s

start the new build for the SCION TC started with tons of second skin audio deadener i dont recall how much i used but everything got 2 layers i also got 2 seas tweeters that will be installed soon need to buy 2 more. made all new brackets for my mids in the front and back. Made a sealed box for 2 xcons 12 not finished but will have glassed finish on it.\ Re ran all the wires in the car so it looks nice and all hinden away more to come!! On to the pics\ some pics got messed up old camera... new a new one someone by some ipods help that fund ha anyways!

This build is a long time in the making. Car 1969 Pontiac Firebird completely customized. Ready for paint and interior. The car has crazy horsepower and I will post those things at a later time as things get finished. As for the audio we are doing as many SSA products as we can. I have some pictures and will post more as I get them. This is not my car, but a very good friend who I known since he was very little. When the F8L 8" subwoofer first was announced, I knew I had to try one right away. I asked my good friend Bruce (wrench guy) for some help building this enclosure. We went with the recommendations that SSA lists on the website: 0.55 cubes @ 31hz (after displacement) Mounting Depth: 6.5" The plan was for this box to be able to be moved from vehicle to vehicle for testing purposes. I would also like to bring it inside and hooked up to my home stereo for music purposes. So the boxed had to be light (birch) and is painted with bed liner material for durability.

Any chances of there being a small meet or get together for members on the East Coast? I'd like to have someone make me feel inadequate again with my lowly JL 500/1 ... I've yet to hear someone that I couldn't drown out here in Jersey even though I'm working on a budget and no component set yet I still seem to be heard and felt.... Honestly though, I'd like to see some setups and gather some ideas and just enjoy the company of people with similar interests.. That is why I labeled this SSA Member Meet and not Team SSA Meet... I'd like for any and all to make some suggestions on a possible meet and greet in the Metro area... Anyone interested pls post...

As most fathers know there are many milestones in life one of which is buying your son or daughter their first car. I recently purchased my daughter her first car and after I am happy with the with the overall car handling and performance, she will be getting a nice little system. Just like my 4 runner this car will get the works so when somebody drives it they ask its the milage correct. Here are a couple pics to get this going.

One of our competitotrs on teamssaudio Mike Diquattrio just burbed his stock xcons for the first time on a Audio Control 6000. I believe he's running 20k watts on two XCON 15" D2s. And yes I know it not a termlab, but here's the numbers he got so far with no tunning. Once I get more pics and vid's i'll post them up. I guess this "SQ" driver can get loud after all

Iv always wondered if you guys thought about making regular old t-shirts. Like say Team SSA or just SSA on the back with a small logo of a sub on the front or something. Just a thought i wouldn't mind having one or two.

Starting to get this build under way. Very simple as it is my wife's car and she uses the trunk for her business. I am adding 2 DCON 10" subs to her factory JBL green edge system. The box is going to be straight foward sealed and small so it can be moved and removed when needed.
