First off, I could NOT be happier. Alot of bang for the buck, and that's what I needed from this sub. It sounds excelent, especially for being in a box thats 11.6 cubes. I set the amp to send the sub the full 1000 watts when the bass boost is all the way up. When I listen to music, I have the boost all the way down cause its still loud, but sounds perfectly in tune with the mids and highs. Whenever I get bored is when I crank it up, but personally my ears dont like the pressure all too much. This enclosure was intended for music with the tuning at 28-30 hz, and I never planned on competing, although I went to a db drag on the 15th. I entered and qualified with a 138, quite the ugly score, but I was using the db jam cd that you can borrow from the judges. I played some stupid track I was told to, it didn't work out well. So first round comes along, I hit 145.2 with jeezy on my own cd because I knew it would play properly. The track was hypnotize, and it hit 145.2 at 39 hz. I am thrilled with that for my first try!

I can add more once I shrink the volume of the box a bit, I could also comment on the higher tuning before I lengthen the port.

Just an FYI, that bondo work looks like complete ass, despite what you think.

And if that thing isn't double layered all the way around, then it WILL fall apart eventually.

On a side note, I haven't posted on this forum in probably a year, but I felt the need to post in this thread. That's what I think of the quality.

ok well each of the walls of the box is 1 and 3/4 inches thick. the top is about 3 layers of 3/4 inch. the front is 2 layers of 3/4 inch and fiberglass reinforced. and as for the jerk who commented on my quality work, my car is gonzo in a month or 2 cause im goin to university, plus stereos are made to be listened to.

I don't know, I'm no expert on wall construction, but it just seems like some things you did were unsafe...

when u use wood glue, wipe it. dont let it drip down.

brace inside of the box properly.

btw how do u kno the tuning frequency of the box?

wudnt lengthening the port lower the frequency?

seriously ur work is sloppy.

as was mine when i now started, but with practice i got better.

try using a small sub and practice.

I have to agree, where is the bracing in your box? It looks to be a tight fit, but did you mount the box to the frame of the car? Clean the glue when you apply it, drips are for squares.
